why some people want to hear a relpy from this Chris Priestly guy i dont know hes a Community Coordinator which means he isnt in any position to actually change anything to do with the game
Because, if he is a 'Community Coordinator', it's his job to tell us what Bioware are doing about things which affect the community - like this problem. In this thread, at least, he is failing spectacularly at this job. However, if someone other than him were to pop in and give us an update, even if it were something along the lines of "we're having problems tracking down the exact cause, so no ETA on a fix for this, and it's probably not going to be in the first patch", or even "we don't have the time/money/people to fix this at all, sorry", that would at least be something. Instead, we're getting nothing. As I said before, it makes it look like Bioware don't even give enough of a crap about us to let us know they're not going to do anything about our problem.

they do know the cause they said it themselves
"The issue is likely in how faces were detected when imported from Mass Effect 1 into Mass Effect 2"
its as you said they really just dont give a **** even though without us they would have NOTHING!

^ have you tried contacting them yourself through Twitter, email, phone
whatever? Also you would need to contact certain types of press,
organisations that are not going to be swayed by the deep pockects and
influence of high tier companies like Bioware/EA
also whats the capertbomb idea?
Back on page 214 (i think) someone was talking about sending out a bunch of emails/tweets/whatever to get a response or at least raise awareness. I'd like to stay optomistic about this problem but with the lack of updates from anyone it seems like we're just getting burned.

I don't like the fact, that I hate (a little) my Shepard and because of this my paragon is high, but at least I can enjoy the game.
I spent two years waiting the game. I made the pre-order at the moment I hear about it. I don't want to wait more
See this article. I agree - the game is epic. The scenario is awesome

its more than that, its the principle of it, the fact that this glitch was known to the developers before the games release and yet nothing was done is ridiculous, and i take it as a personal insult to my intelligence that they thought we wouldnt notice such an important problem
its the equivalent of bioware punching me in the face and then telling me they didnt do it they think were all IDIOTS!

Not even an apologie.
and why do they post it "hidden"
Unaccepteble!
see this-->just posted in another topic.

I understand you very well. I am a developer and in my company we know, that the client is most important. Silence means that they don not know how to fix it. Of course I refuse to beleive that. There is no sense they can build such complex game and cannot fix such a little bug. The time they fix it I prefer to have fun :>
Bioware/AE/Origin... will suffer the consequences becasue of this bug and this atitute to us - No more pre-order purchases (at least me).

Another day I checked these forums and nothing. Some think such a patch would be too big. If thats the case, then make it a free DLC. Problem solved. If they don't fix it I will move on and enjoy my game. Would be a huge blow to my enjoyment of it.
If the fix is too large to be a patch, making it a dlc is is not the answer. EA should be forced to recall the product and replace them for free. They all ready know who we are since most (if not all) of us have activated the online pass and or are posting in this forum.

My creation code wont show up on ME2, I have 10 days before I can go back to my duty station. This has been so disappointing. I bought the collectors edition, come home and cannot even transfer my character.
Bioware hopes you enjoy your slap in the face.

- I know how much it sucks being a CM when you're dealing with a contentious bug; if the fix isn't made right away, it only breeds more animosity toward the Community staff, which is ill-directed. If there were more information to give on this issue [or if they have the greenlight to give more information], they would do so. In reality, the decision to fix or not fix this bug was likely made over the senior producer overseeing the QA department, who decided that the bug's negative impact was not fiscally equal or greater than the negative impact from a further delay to the game. Or, it was decided that it would be a patch, and the fix is already in progress. So why don't we have it yet? I'm guessing because...
- The fix would likely need to be tested by a variety of shepherd models in every in-game cinematic covering every decision branch in the game; that requires not only a lot of hours playing ME3 again, but also ME1 and ME2 to get the necessary save games [though one would hope they already have many of these stored away]. And just covering every decision tree would be troublesome on its own; it would require a large QA staff who is no doubt testing DLC right now. And this doesn't even take into account the time it takes to locate and fix the bug, plus...
- Certification. Granted, I can't speak as to why a completed fix wouldn't be out for PC yet if it were done, but Certification for a patch from Sony or Microsoft isn't a one-day turnaround. It could take from as little as one to probably as great as three weeks (though I'm hoping it's closer to the former). BioWare / EA literally has no control on how quickly this is completed. And if the team decided already to push out a quick fix which failed certification, they go back to step 1 (which, I'm guessing, is why BioWare's CMs are hesitant to give us detailed updates... if we get our hopes up when the patch is in Cert, we'd be even more angry if it failed].
All that said... I really wish I could get some updates. I just want to know if I should bother starting from ME1 again on a Default Shep, or if I only need to stick it out a little longer.

Absolutely egregious that the co-founder of Bioware is more concerned about the ending of the game than a face-import bug which somehow managed to escape testing unscathed and is preventing thousands of us 'loyal fans' from even playing one minute of the story--a story whose ending is now being ruined for them by way of this whole controversy.

I'm merely a play away from giving this game my dreaded Hindenburg Award; something even Fable 3 didn't recieve. Unforetunately, I can't even play it because MY character still won't upload.
Someone said it best on this board last week. "Why send a game out that begins in an error message?"

Yeah, they should probably fix the beginning first.
