I'm happy they at least said something about it, but I also want to know that they are going to do something to make this right. A lot of people bought a faulty game, and had to play as imposter Shepard's. Others, like myself, haven't been able to play our game for weeks after we bought it. We couldn't return the game for full price because it was already non-returnable by the time we found out there was a bug.
Bioware needs to compensate ME players in some way. It isn't reasonable for them to just fix the bug and expect us to be happy about it. That they let this issue happen, and then treated us the way they did, seriously damaged their image in the mind of their most loyal fans. They need to work to gain that appreciation back. There are few other area's of life where it is considered acceptable to promise to do something at a certain time, only to wait a few months to actually do it. If they ever want me to support their company financially again, they will have to prove their apology with work and not just words.

The not completely good news is that I do not yet have a confirmed date for when the patch will be available. A new patch gets heavily tested by BioWare, EA, Microsoft and Sony before it can be released to the public. We all want to be sure that it fixes the issues it is supposed to fix and doesn't start any new issues (this is called testing or certification testing)
I had to admit, i couldn't help but laugh
Good job though, solving such a massive issue.

Ok, I have what I hope is some good news.
We have fixed the issue of faces not correctly importing into Mass Effect 3. It will be included as part of the next Mass Effect 3 patch.
The not completely good news is that I do not yet have a confirmed date for when the patch will be available. A new patch gets heavily tested by BioWare, EA, Microsoft and Sony before it can be released to the public. We all want to be sure that it fixes the issues it is supposed to fix and doesn't start any new issues (this is called testing or certification testing ). If a patch fails during testing, it is sent back, fixed again and retested until it passes. Then it is released to gamers. Until we know that the patch has passed certification testing, I don't want to give even a rough idea of the date, to prevent disappointment should it need further testing.
So I'm sorry I don't have the full answer you all want and are waiting for yet. When I can give you the date when the patch will be available I will.
I'm editing the OP to reflect this info as well.
Thank you Chris,
From someone who feels pretty burnt by Mass Effect 3 so far, little gestures like this really do go a long a way to earning back my trust.

Seriously? This is why the face import was broken in the first place. This is why its still not fixed. This is why it took almost two weeks to even get a status update. Cause people allow it.

No offense to all of you who are happy about them saying it's fixed, but in all honesty there should have been Nothing to fix in the first place. They took an extra 4 months to make sure it was "perfect and bug-free" or something to that effect, and then just left this out til they had hordes of gamers banging on their proverbial doors threatening to break them down by returning/boycotting EA and/or Bioware. I AM happy this is being fixed, and unfortunately for me someone on Minecraft spoiled part of the really bad/generic ending which itself is a let down (howevr VP of bioware said that too was being looked into as a possible patch/post game content on his page), so there is still work to be done when those who have refused to play the game actually do and beat the game. I Just went through chat help less than 24 hours ago and the person pretty much said "I have no idea what to say/how to help you, please talk to someone else" even though I selected the correct subsection etc. He/she was naive enough to say "do you want your ME 1 face in ME 3" even after I wrote a detailed sentence explaining just that as my reason for contacting them etc. That alone was just sad on their part, especially knowing now that a supposed fix would be announced hours after. I thankfully have not traded in my ME 3 but would probably have done so if it was a normal edition (I got 360 collectors). Also nonspoilers, but if you remember them saying MP WAS NOT NECCISARY for the best ending, apparently from other things spoiled to me..some bad things happen Automatically unless you play enough/some multiplayer and that there is NO WAY to get around it via sidequests or whatnot. That as well heavily disappoints me as I'm planning a 0 MP run (or was) on my first playthrough so I would get a "just me" experience without getting bonus war assets etc from MP.

My thoughts exactly. I've cancelled my TOR subscription and will not renew until/if they fix the generic ending and other major issues.

We can be sure to say the release date will be, at least, March, 30.
Too early, someone posted many pages back that Microsoft and PSN certification takes 1-2 weeks and I'm assuming by heavy testing that there will need to be a few full playthroughs with the patch installed. The patch won't fail the certification as Skyrim released a patch that caused Bethesda to patch the patch, so... my guess is 2-3 weeks tops.

Eh? Perhaps you should re-read what I'm trying to get at.

So where is the PC patch then? There is no certification process for PC.
Would you or any other PC players be willing to test the patch as a beta patch? Cause most people probably wouldn't, though I see no harm in releasing one to have it tested faster. PC users tend to get the patches before console players. Either way, BioWare has to test it first.

It's not like trying stuff like this is the standard for games, so even though they totally failed at carrying your character over (and somehow my renegade decision in Bring Down the Sky didn't convert lol), it's not like any other company even TRIES what Bioware did. You have to respect that they shot for the stars even though they failed in a few functionality places.
I'm still really pissed and perplexed this doesn't work out of the box. But that said, thanks for actually working on this fix. I'm sure this won't apply to the career I've started with giant-nose-not-my-Shepard but at least it'll work for the female I just started playing in ME1.
