So, are you guys gonna get of your knees and stop kissing Chris' ring for something we haven't gotten yet that should have been in the product we purchased, when we purchased it?

You're acting like a child. People make mistakes.

Grow up.

No, I'm acting like a responsible consumer. YOU are acting like a petulant fanboy apologist.

Yeah, because the way you phrase your responses to Bioware employees and others really fits the frame for 'responsible consumer'.

Call me what you want, but it's not being an apologist. Just be respectful.

If you think you can make a flawless game, go ahead. It isn't possible and the reason for the glitch happening and not being detected can be for a number of reasons. Either way they are paying for it, so really... who cares? I've seen far worse upon release of a game, and **** happens. Deal with it.

Can we get a list on things to expect in the patch, apart from the import face fix?

I was telling everyone who is saying 'Hooray our worries are over' to stop kissing Chris' ring.

1. targeted at people in the thread
2. double entendre for the win. no skin off my back if you only understand the modern vulgar translation and not the original
3. my anger at all the issues with this game are justified, my rights over this product are enshrined in law, and I am under NO obligation to beg and scrape under anyones definition of politeness to make my issues known
4. the more a company takes advantage of their consumer base, the less respect I have for them, and the less respect I have for anyone who stands up for them

Acting like a dick is not part of being a responsible consumer. Rather you're acting like a brat with an inflated sense of entitlement.

My theatre teacher had a phrase: "Don't be sorry, just fix it." That applies here. **** happens, I'm just glad Bioware's addressing it in some way.

Thanks for the update, Chris.

Finally. I can start my renegade playthrough (and the 3-4 others I've got waiting) when this patch happens. Till then, back to MP

I AM entitled to a product that works AS ADVERTISED. Your theatre teacher has obviously never worked in customer service. If being outspoken and not backing down on issues is 'acting like a dick' than acting like a dick is not only your responsibility as a consumer, it is also the only way to insure you are treated with the respect you deserve by corporations in our consumer society.

If you are polite you are that much easier to ignore.

I will not be happy with the response to this issue until the fix is up and running on MY product, and even then I will still be horribly disappointed with how I have been treated as a consumer.

Thank you for the update. It's good to know that a fix is on the way . I work in tech support with software developers so I know much about the vetting process and how long it can take.

Glad to hear it's nearing the final stages.

@cApAc

You're wrong.

Being a douchenozzle is the fastest way to get dismissed by a company or an individual as being an unpleasable belligerent. As for my theatre teacher, you are wrong. She has worked almost every blue collar job you can think of. And her philosophy has never been to waste time on pointless, empty niceties to make someone feel better when that time could have been better spent solving the problem.

You're free to keep being a bitter human being, but don't expect anyone to do anything but laugh at your pettiness.

Ok. Enjoy being friendly and polite to people that take your money and screw you over.

And for someone that's so happy and polite you use an awful lot of words like 'dick' and 'douchenozzle' I wish I could be mature like you.

I could have used more content language, but it seemed like the only way to make inroads with you was to use your own philosophy? I don't know, I am just calling them as I sees them. I never claimed to be polite, just rational.

As for me, I am friendly and respectful but firm. Are there times when EA and maybe even Bioware has abused our goodwill? Certainly. But this is not one of them. Time to stop acting like it is.

Ok, I have what I hope is some good news.

We have fixed the issue of faces not correctly importing into Mass Effect 3. It will be included as part of the next Mass Effect 3 patch.

The not completely good news is that I do not yet have a confirmed date for when the patch will be available. A new patch gets heavily tested by BioWare, EA, Microsoft and Sony before it can be released to the public. We all want to be sure that it fixes the issues it is supposed to fix and doesn't start any new issues (this is called testing or certification testing ). If a patch fails during testing, it is sent back, fixed again and retested until it passes. Then it is released to gamers. Until we know that the patch has passed certification testing, I don't want to give even a rough idea of the date, to prevent disappointment should it need further testing.

So I'm sorry I don't have the full answer you all want and are waiting for yet. When I can give you the date when the patch will be available I will.

I'm editing the OP to reflect this info as well.

Really. Selling me a product that I can't play as intended and advertised isn't abusing my goodwill? Taking 2 weeks to give us a confirmation our problem is being worked on, a problem that should never have been shipped. I pre-ordered a game, gave them the financial advantaged of a guaranteed purchase, and it sits there unplayed, because of a core game mechanic fault, and you say it isn't an abuse? You're deluded.

Laughing at people for standing up to their consumer rights is contemptible.

First of all, a direct ME1 to ME3 import was never advertised. In fact, importing was never advertised. We just assumed that it would be there, working like it did in ME2, because it did. And it probably would have if there weren't changes to ME3's character creator that didn't complicate the translation process.

Mistakes. Happen. What is so difficult to understand about that? I'd be more inclined to believe that this was an abuse of goodwill if there was no word or no action on it. News so far seems to be that the fix is done and it's simply awaiting the stamp of approval from three different corporations before it's notarized for release. Hard to believe, I know, but these things take time, and some of us have realized a while back that patience is a virtue that makes life a whole lot easier to endure. Your beef now seems to be with not getting a formally worded apology. As far as I'm concerned, a fix is a more sincere apology than whatever "I'm Sorry" statement Bioware could come up with regarding the matter.

Allright! The challenge to be patient just got easier!
(I still absolutely love the little pony picture somewhere at the start of this thread, saying "challenge accepted". Very unexpected. Made me laugh.)

I hope my femShep comes out as herself, not just something close. I am looking forward (as I have for a long time) to finally playing ME3. And I will play it when the patch comes out, whatever happens to my femShep, because even if she is not the way I remember her, I will then know that that will be as good as it gets.

I had expected a problem of this size to take a month or so to fix, so I'm not surprised at the turnaround time.

@Chris: Thank you for the update!
You said they were working on it, and you said you would update the post if there was more news. Right on both accounts, so no complaints from me about that. And I don't envy you your job.

<snip>
Took out a reply to the people annoyed at the "happy" responses.
I understand your feelings, if not your way of expressing them.
Please be understanding of mine.

Ah now I understand.

My apologies for not being clear.  I will love them only for this and this alone.  Once I'm done with ME3 (and possibly any related DLC) there's no way in hell i'm purchasing another BioWare game unless  some other game in the future returns back to the top quality they had in the past or they remove themselves from EA.

In other words, my love for them will extend only in so far that they will fix ME3.  After that any allegiances are nil because my interest as of right now is and has only been on ME3 with regards to BioWare.

Their other franchises I don't give a rat's ass about.

Ha, turns out we are actually on the same page. Sorry about my earlier response, I didn't mean to lash out, okay I kinda did, I was upset. But I shouldn't have, so sorry. Its just all the ppl thanking Bioware for the tiny scraps off the table made me see a little red.

Heheh no worries. I understood why you were upset and yeah I'm there with you to an extent.  It's also why I keep this thread alive by reminding people not to get their hopes up just yet until we actually see what this thing does, despite that fact that Chris had some decency, finally, to "grace us" with new info.

I am grateful at least for the news. We all know that it takes time to do these things. What aggravates is when information is not given in a timely way. I think this bug is the biggest bug in the game--I would encourage you to keep us informed even if it is just, "we're still in testing phase" or the like. Thanks again.
