Funny arguement FlyingWalrus and cApAc aMaRu. Probably should do less name calling in a moderated forum though;) As much as I love BioWare and want to be understanding about this issue like FlyingWalrus, I agree with aMaRu. I can't ignore that BioWare knew about this problem when the game shipped and choose not to fix it with a release day patch and not to warn fans. If they did not catch this bug then I have no faith in their QA process. When the issue came to light the response we got from BioWare and the way the issue was handled was bad. I love BioWare, but with all the misteps of late and EA rebranding studios to benefit from the reputation they spent years creating I have lost faith in their brand. Going forward I'll use more caution before I purchase anything that says BioWare.

Funny thing is its these people that tell me I'm acting 'entitled' and that I should just 'deal with it' that make me the maddest.

I'm having trouble understanding the issue. Yes it's not great that you can't import it. But it took me roughly about 10-15 minutes to re-create the face I had before. This game has much bigger issues like the endings imho.

Good for you. Looks like you're in the wrong place then. 'The Endings' Discussion is somewhere else.

Finally and update, and although I'm happy that we finally get some news, it's way late ofcourse!

I hope they fix this in a way that I can play with my ME1 shep, that's the most important!

Also I agree with cApAc aMaRu, if they promise something they should live up to that. We pay our hard earned dollars/euros/pounds for the product, and ofcourse people can make mistakes, but this was no mistake! They did this, for whatever reason, on purpose, because the error message was put in, and that means they knew!

They can redeem themselves a little bit, if they fix this in such a way I, and the other fans, can start playing with our Sheps again!

Y'know, the more I think about it, the less I understand why it can't be released on it's own, esp. since this is an issue that's keeping a lot of people from even starting the game, and an issue that's making a ot of people very angry...

I mean, OK, we can try and recreate our Shepard, but it's not that easy 'cause the sliders seem to work differently, and the faces you have to work from are slightly different as well - I've got 5 Sheps ready to go for ME3, and I haven't been able to recreate ANY of the faces properly.

Oh well.

A patch in the pipeline thankyou!

1 of my shepards inported somehow but the other 7 did not so this is good news. I play on both PC and xbox so i,ll keep checking the PC version for an update through origin as it will be there before the 360.

But you ARE entitled to a game that works as expected once you've purchased it. Now if you obtained a pirated copy and were complaining then they'd have a point, but I suspect that is not the case LOL;) I think entitlement is not accepting the ending and demanding that it be redone for free:P

I agree with the ending guys, if the endings really are all the same

I wonder how they have fixed it. Is it the yaml fix that is available already or have they actually modified the engine? Because isnt it the major issue here? How the lightning works (for an example) in this game is way different than in ME2. The graphical feel is also completely different. Inferior for me.

While it may have taken YOU 15 minutes, for many of us, the assets we used to make our Shepards simply don't exist in ME3.  (Some of them didn't even exist in ME2, but ME2 imported raw data, not approximated facecodes).

No amount of trying, fiddling, fussing, and working, will allow the ME3 CC to create ANY of my Shepards with ANY degree of accuracy.  They all come out looking like complete strangers.  I've sat down and worked with it for 3 and a half hours for my "main" favorite Shep, and it still wears a stranger's face.

The same goes for many, many people in this thread.  It's not difficult to create our Shepards, we're not lazy, we've tried.  It's literally impossible for us to re-create them.

Agreed, even when i did, through some effort, manage to not only get the code for my ME1 and ME2 face but the actual slider numbers too, my Shepard looked nothing like the one i had spent over a 100 hours with.

Agreed.... after "trying" to recreate in ME3, my FemShep looked like Quasimodo's slightly uglier sister....

I don't know for all platform but I believe that on the 360 the quantity and volume of patches is somehow restricted/controlled the detail and reasons not being public.

So I'm sorry I don't have the full answer you all want and are waiting for yet.

Actually, you do have the full answer that I want (I don't care about an ETA).

But, you haven't given it yet.

This is what I'm waiting for an answer on: If I currently do not get an error message when importing my face, will there be any change to how it imports after the patch? Specifically, will there be an increased fidelity to the ME2 appearance?

Or will the patch only change things for people who are currently getting an error message?

Since the fix has been completed, Bioware knows the answer to these questions right now and should be able to answer them with minimal effort.

I hope the fix consists in ME3 being able to import raw data. If they're calling approximated facecodes a fix, it means nothing, and we will keep complaining. PLEASE HAVE THAT IN MIND, BIOWARE

Anyway, good news at last.
