Just out of idle curiosity, was there ever any guess about what percentage of ME1 faces failed to import? My Sheps are batting about 1 in 3 working

The face imports from ME2 look totally stupid and don't at all look like the orginals, I hope the ME1 faces look as good as in ME2, I miss my damn Shepard!!!!
This is my fear, they fix the imports and it still won't look like my ME1 and ME2 Shep.

I wonder if they will offer some kind of free DLC to compensate us?
Compensate you for what? The game still was playable. The face import wasn't breaking the game, just continuity.

As far as advertisement vs. functionality goes, the game was technically broken.
One of the defining factors of the mechanics since even before 1 was advertised as "you'll be able to use the same character across 3 games." To me, that IS what the game is. Therefore, the game was not playable, because "the game" is the ability to roleplay your specific character, and this issue causes their marketing since before the first game to be flaggable as false advertisement.
tl;dr we didn't get what we paid for
However, I heavily doubt we'll get any sort of "compensation." I don't believe we're "entitled" to it, though BioWare have denied us quite a bit of what we ought to be "entitled" to. It would be a very nice PR move on their part of we did, but I'm not going to expect it.

Glad to hear it. Hopefully the patch will also fix the issue where the game crashes after watching the video on Eden Prime (From Ashes DLC).

It's been mentioned already, but you're missing the point of the "functionality" of the series. Mass Effect's core driving feature, was facing importation...of YOUR Shepard.

Ergo, not a spoiler. Unless Bioware is posting spoilers in their own "No Spoilers" forum.

The location of the DLC is mentioned by various gaming sites, marketing and on this very forum by Bioware.

Agreed and it's these exact little spoilers which have cause me to avoid any website before and after the release that might give them away. It's been tough but apart from one picture of a character and how they look different i've managed to avoid them all, so yeah the fact that apparantly we revist a major location from previous games is a spoiler.Loegi wrote...
And I think those various sites, including Bioware are posting spoilers.

The DLC "From Ashes" was marketed as a "Return to Eden Prime". Not a spoiler, the spoiler would be talking about the character that is packaged with it. But that was also revealed on most marketing soliciations I saw.

It's what most of us fear. Even my working face code from ME2 will not produce a Shepard that looks like the one I had in ME2. Differences are subtle, but clearly noticeable.
I *PRAY* that they understand this problem. Because if they don't, and this fix doesn't fix it, There won't be another fix, and I will have paid 80 bucks for the most anticipated game of the year only to be sorely disappointed. And this disappointment doesn't even touch any of the possible endings.

They can compensate us by doing their best to make sure Dragon Age 3 blows us away;)
I concur, If their next game (whatever it is) competes with the likes of KOTOR, DAO and ME1 then I'll forgive them.
