Agreed and it's these exact little spoilers which have cause me to avoid any website before and after the release that might give them away. It's been tough but apart from one picture of a character and how they look different i've managed to avoid them all, so yeah the fact that apparantly we revist a major location from previous games is a spoiler.Loegi wrote...

I've avoided most, but if you avoid everything, including viral work etc... if you find out something you don't want to know, it's not a spoiler. It's just crap for you.

Of course if you avoid the whole event because you don't want to know who's actually in the final so it's on big amazing surprise and you walk past two people discussing who's in the final... that's crappy for you, but part of the dangerous game we play trying to avoid EVERYTHING. Because believe me, I tried avoiding everything too... you did well to get this far!

Much oddness.
Still, a bit of reshaping later and my Shep looked back to 95% of his likeness, and I remember things looking a little different with the ME1>ME2 importer as well so I just got used to the slightly new version.
Bigger prob with my renegade Shep though, won't load the face at all. He kinda looked like Ron Pearlmen, heh. Glad if there's a solution coming.

They can compensate us by doing their best to make sure Dragon Age 3 blows us away;)
For Dragon Age 3 I was hoping they would make it that you can import both your characters from 1 and 2. Something like all the characters from 1 and all the characters from 2 team up to fight the ultimate evil with my created characters from 1 and 2 at the front of the line. Now that would be awesome I think. But after this fiasco I highly doubt they will have character importing into DA3. They'll proabaly only have the decisions you made be imported.

Well, the YAML thing did not help much for most of my Sheps, only one came out relatively alright so I could tinker with the face a little.
My Paragon Infiltrator:

People already said this but the CC screen doesn't show the face very well, especially when viewed from the front. I would add that the entire first mission and some of the second had some really weird face animations that gave my Shep this weird angry, oldish look. The nose & eyebrows had some really strange shadow problems too. Things became much better after that, started to look and feel more like my Shep, and only some minor problems crop up like the eyes narrowing randomly or pupils moving too far up.
Hopefully by the time this patch is done I will be able to import the rest, because right now they come out looking like freaks, especially the male sheps :/

The face imports from ME2 look totally stupid and don't at all look like the orginals, I hope the ME1 faces look as good as in ME2, I miss my damn Shepard!!!!
This is my fear, they fix the imports and it still won't look like my ME1 and ME2 Shep.
It's what most of us fear. Even my working face code from ME2 will not produce a Shepard that looks like the one I had in ME2. Differences are subtle, but clearly noticeable.
I *PRAY* that they understand this problem. Because if they don't, and this fix doesn't fix it, There won't be another fix, and I will have paid 80 bucks for the most anticipated game of the year only to be sorely disappointed. And this disappointment doesn't even touch any of the possible endings.
Well said. Here's hoping BioWare was smart enough. Otherwise there will be hell to pay.

I'm sorry for the question, but I don't feel like reading 235 pages: Would it work if I could manually copy the face code of my Shepard from ME2 into ME3?
From what I've heard, that is prob. not going to work, but hey, you can at least try... Because I guess there were cases that this was succesfull.

Probably not. If you imported from ME1, you shouldn't even have a face code.Theodoro wrote...

The face code works with slider positions, but the sliders were changed in ME3. You could try it though.

Just wanted to swing by and say "thank you" for ensuring that the face fix will be in the next patch. I know you're taking a lot of flack on the board (including from me, though I've tried my best to make sure my comments stay on the "constructive criticism" side of the line), but it's good to see that this particularly troublesome bug has been sorted out reasonably quickly.

You could try, but it doesn't work well for everyone. Examples here:

This is great news! I am glad tha BioWare has really taken this to thought and is making the patch right now! I suspect this update will have other patches too. I have seen a lot of people complain of other patches needed to be made.:)

The analogy you use isn't quite right, matches are often called something like "this team vs that team, quarter final" so just by seeing there is a match on you already know who is in it.DARKWUN wrote...

Whereas the DLC was called "From Ashes", it doesn't give anything away, it's just a vague name, the location is a story related suprise, it's still a spoiler even if it's not a big one. I should note that i preordered the N7 collectors addition so i haven't seen any marketing for it.
It's a spoiler on the same level as when i watched the IGN video review of assassin's creed and found out about the animus, it's the first thing you find out when playing the game so it's not a huge spoiler but the suprise was still ruined a bit.
Haha yeah it's taking a lot of patience avoiding reviews, articles and forums (this is the one thread i have seen because of the magic of google). Two weeks ago i thought that was all over, but here i am still going cold turkey, i've got the shakes!

I hear ya. Been trying to advoid some spoilers myself, but the fact that the ending is the most controversial game ending in a long time makes it impossible. Loading up a ME game without my Shepards will make me hate the game long before the end. Played so much multiplayer that the galaxy no longer needs me to be war ready. Those Reapers are toast.

What are the chances of getting a patch that will update a face that has already been imported in a game in progress? Like many others, I couldn't wait, and am currently playing my "failed plastic surgery" Shepard. A retro-active fix would make me ecstatic, but I know better than to hope for such a thing.
Still.....
