This cannot be a simple patch, they screwed with the entire face modeling system of the ME series, especially with the female NPC's in the game. The female faces were much better in ME2 than in ME3, they just look retarded in ME3. Add to this the lack luster performance of Hale and the fugly looking default FemShep then you have a crappy experience playing a Femshep.

Sad sad situation, also the hair alignment is all wrong, looks like every female in the game is using hairspray every 5min.

Male Shepards don't have that problem that female Shepards do.

Uh-huh. You had to use a third party tool to play a big budget game the way its been advertised for 5 years. Not fail at all. You certainly seem like you would understand being on your knees for Bioware and EA. Congratulations.

Obvious troll can't be anymore obvious.

Do you even know what trolling means or do you just like to throw the word around because others use it?

What Capac Amaru said is %100 accurate. He's not a troll he's an upest consumer who was lied to. Him and most of the others on here (including me) can't even play the game that we have been dying to play for years now. So we have every right to be upset. Most people in here are loyal fans who took a knife in the back by Bioware's hands. So do us all a favor and take your uneducated BS someplace else.

Male Shepards also look much different.

They will have to overhaul the whole face creation system back to the ME2 one with updated meshes/ textures if they are going to solve this.

We're sort of just left hanging here; all we can do is speculate. Speculating always ends up in argument, especially on the internet. Exactly what can we produce regarding that would be constructive?

There are people checking this thread multiple times a day in hopes of some updates, and few are provided.

I still can't believe that before putting "the best work [they've] created" on store shelves, Bioware didn't check that there wouldn't be problems importing faces. Especially since, from what other forum posters have said, Bioware completely changed the face creating system. I have my doubts that Bioware even has a clue as to our frustration if, three weeks later, all we have is a single forum post without even a rough, unoptimistic estimated patch date and literally the biggest let down in terms of continuity for loyal players.

I hope Bioware at least can take a good look at the 240 pages in this thread of people expressing their dismay at trusting a company to deliver and realize how greivously they've disappointed. It's ridiculous that Bioware even has the balls to reccommend a third party tool. No cost to the company though, right?

Hey Chris, how about a facility to import/alter apprearance mid-game in the patch? I remember as far back as ME1 getting a Shep that looked really great in the creation program lighting, watching the intro until that panning zoom to close up and thinking... "Ooooh... nope." And back to the drawing board, full tweaking, full intro, thinking "why can't I just tweak the eyes/cheekbones/nose mid-game"?

I'm only 3 missions into ME3 now so if I weren't a married man I would happily go back and start again to rectify my "slightly wrong looking Shep". Sadly my time is limited on the Xbox these days and I fear I never will finish the fight as the man I started it...

I support this, it could be implemented in game through med-bay, or for a easter egg with a somewhat narcissistic tone through the mirror in Shepard's bathroom.

I actually can not fathom how this bug could slip through QA.

I just replayed #1 and #2 to start #3 on PC

If you build a trilogy it will imply that people who are playing all parts will be pretty invested in his or her created character.

There will always be bugs and glitches (and unfortunately idiotic changes like awesome button "spacebar" on PC) but the face generator bug is rather obvious and significant for the last remnants of customization there is left.

Perhaps we should vent our frustration at 'community coordinators' who tell us they 'understand', then boss us about instead of providing us with the information we need.

As far as understanding goes, how many people at Bioware haven't played Mass Effect 3 because they can't use their Shepard's face?

And if the patch is ALREADY MADE and going through CERTIFICATION then why won't you tell us HOW YOU FIXED IT and WHAT YOU FIXED?

I LAUGH when moderators tell us to be 'civil and constructive' because EA and Bioware's attitude to their customers is ANYTHING but.

PATRONISING is the word I would use.

You really need to chill, we are all frustrated by this issue, but you are going overboard. Patronising is not the word anyone but you would use for this, the moderators are doing their best with a sh*tty situation and your misdirected anger is doing absolutely nothing except making you angrier.

The fix is coming, yeah there is no information about it yet but if the fix doesn't work and our shepards still don't look like our shepards then we can all come back and give them well deserved hell. Until then there is no point in getting worked up about nothing, go play another game for a while or better yet just have a relaxing bath or something, because 'venting' here is not going to make you feel any better when the people you are venting at have pretty much no more information than you do.

WTF !?!?!?!? I'm really confused here, people are accually saying 'yay thanks' etc; for something that shouldn't need a patch.....
Was there no beta testing or pre-launch testing to help find these issues, or is it just the fact that they wanted the money ASAP.
This isn't acceptable. A game should NOT launch broken, people should NOT be saying 'o it's okay because they are working on a patch :) ^_^ :D'
Think some need to wake up and Bioware needs to help themselves by helping the fanbase or it will be entirely lost.

I finally got bored and decided to rebuild my Shepard. That's the result:

Mass Effect 3

I say I am really ok with it, adding the usual Shepard voice I admit the result playing the game is awesome, so I am fine now. You should all try aswell, using the code that the site Mass Effect Tool provides you, you just have to make some arrangement, usually structure of face it's ok so that you just have to adjust it. And now I go to play campaign FINALLY!!

Wow, I get a real "Donovan Hock" vibe from your Shepard! :)

Well, maybe it's Donovan Hock that inspired to my Shepard, cause I made it in Mass Effect 1 xD And my Shepard looks more like a bad guy xD

This isn't venting, this is standing up for my rights. They aren't doing their best, they are doing a terrible job. You honestly think the solution to someone selling you a broken product is to 'shut up and accept it, go do something else'?

Every single moderator post I have seen has had a condescending, patronising, 'wait and shut up' message. Or has shown blatant disregard for the community and its issues.

If I got this kind of treatment in a store I would complain to management, and if I get it on the official forum for a product I  purchased I WILL COMPLAIN ABOUT IT.

These moderators DO have more information than we do. Priestly even GLOATS about it in his forum bio. Martinez is an employee. He can go to his supervisor, or whomever is in charge of QA/patching and say:

"The guys in the face import thread are concerned about what we are patching regarding face imports, how it will affect them, and if it will fix all the different issues. Since its been sent for certification and you QA/patching guys are TWIDDLING YOUR THUMBS until its accepted or rejected, can you give me a brief overview of the changes so I can show them that we CARE about their EXPERIENCE? They have been waiting a long time, and they deserve more information."

This is how a RESPONSIBLE company behaves when they :pinched: everything up.

Today I got the first response that I've seen at all (above the CSR level) to an inquiry about the 'Shepard looks like a different person' issue (as opposed to the 'error message when importing your face' issue).

This is the question I sent to Lion Martinez, and his response:

Q: "About the face import fix...will it change how my face imports if I'm currently not getting an error message, but my Shep looks way different from ME2? Or will it only change things for people who get an error message?

Examples in this thread: http://social.biowar.../index/9739936/"

A: "Unfortunately I have no information regarding this subject, patch or not. Sorry!"

(He responded within an hour, I think.  I sent the same question to Priestly and Merizan days ago, but I didn't get a response from them, so far.)
