Mass Effect 3 clearly should of been released on April 2, 2012.

I'm here supporting you guys, already played the game a few times.

This was pathetic, you DO NOT release a game with this issue. Period.

Mass Effect 3! Releasing Xmas 2012! With a real ending!

I hope you find this answer at least acceptable for now.

I fully understand that once it gets to this point, it's not really up to you guys to decide when the patches are available.  I get that.

I just hope it's understood that this is a huge thing to a lot of people, and when you combine it with the controversy over the DLC and all that jazz, Bioware has a lot of work to do earning back the loyalty of a lot of its fans.

Out of the 7 Shepards I tried importing, only one was even remotely close to the original face.

I refuse to do my "canon" playthorugh until this is fixed.

And the default options suck... for reasons I can't get into here, apparently.

But, hopefully it gets resolved soon.

Also once we do and we're ready to publish you will probably hear it from Chris or another one of my superiors before me.

I really don't have the details you are asking for regardless, sorry. I'm also sorry you feel disappointed and I understand it.

The fact that Chris Priestly and the people at Bioware would send a lower level employee to do their dirty work is terrible. They told you to come deal with us knowing that you have no authorization to inform us of any changes or updates to the game. It's obvious Chris Priestly could care less about us and is tired of reading this thread so he sent you in here.

Your answers to our questions are typical hollow corporate answers that shed no light what so ever on the subject.

You say you can't answer any of our questions but how about this one. Where is Mr. Ray Muzyka? I noticed that at the bottom of the forums pages he has an account on these forums and he can post here. So why doesn't he grace us with his presence and give us a straight answer. He's the owner so I'm sure he has the "authorization". Or is posting a simple answer to his loyal fans to much to ask of Dr. Ray.

Simply put; I believe we can't actually legally give out exact information regarding software updates that affects the consumers of the 3rd party companies, until going through certification. This as it might change several times. We can say "this was fixed" as it's the main component and purpose of a patch but we can't give details until completely ready.

Well, Chris Priestly has already said that this issue is 'fixed', but hasn't made it clear whether he was referring to the error message, the problem where an imported face looks very different from in ME1 or ME2, or both.  I fail to see how it would cause 'legal issues' clarifying what, precisely, he was talking about.

Can we stop asking Bioware employees questions like "Did you know this was a problem before the game was released?"

Does anyone actually believe that a Bioware employee would say "Yes, we knew this was a problem before the game was released but we released it anyway."?

Thank you for at least interacting with Community Members and for giving what information you are allowed to give. It is very frustrating to be in the position of a fan that hasn't played the game yet becuase of this bug. "Very frustrating" is actually a major understatement. Being in this position coupled with the fact that the moderators have been pretty silent about the subject only aggravates the situation. I sincerely hope this is resolved soon.

Maybe I'll get lynched, maybe not. But I appriciate you taking the time to communicate with us. I've had this issue and attempted some varying ways to fix it but to no avail (see below), instead choosing to finish the game. I won't say anything about that. Regardless, thank you for your time and any further you can provide to communicate the situation.

If EA and Bioware were responsible corporate entities, then yes, I would expect them to admit to their stupid mistakes and intentional acts of greed. If they cared about and respected their customers, and were at all interested in making sure that they did all that they could to repair the damage that they have done to their relationships with THOUSANDS of people.

The only reason they have NOT to apologise and acknowledge the issues is if they DON'T CARE about our experience as customers, and DON'T CARE about KEEPING us as customers.

The fact is, they DON'T care. Our money is just a droplet in the ocena of EA's revenue streams. If Bioware doesn't perform, EA will just downsize them to oblivion. We aren't customers i ntheir eyes, we are 'units shipped' numbers. Hopefully all this noise about Mass Effect 3 will hurt their figures, but I hold no expectations that anything we do will alter their HORRIBLE busniess practices in any way.

That's why I will now treat the EA logo as if it were a bio-hazard symbol.

Its good that people WANT to do things to help. Its bad that Bioware and EA have a disgusting corporate attitude that prevents it from happening.

I'm with you on this.  It's lame that they send Lion Martinez to deal with this thread.

However, I do appreciate that he's doing something at least.  At least one BW employee is doing their employee duty. So thanks for that Lion.

I do wish he had some more conclusive answers.  Not quite sure really how he's legally bound from giving generalities though.

And honest truth is that I don't have more information nor would I be authorized to answer specific questions until all the components involved are 100% guaranteed.

I don't have any information on the status of this patch nor do I have the specifics when it comes to Mass Effect 3 patches in general, just want to make that clear.

you will probably hear it from Chris or another one of my superiors before me.

I don't work out of the studio, I'm in the Nordics.

...had to do some house work....

So... you don't know anything about the fix... and even if you did, you wouldn't tell us...

You don't actually work at Bioware per se, but "in the Nordics"...

Chris Priestly is your "superior"....

And yes, doing housework inbetween answering forum posts...

Let me ask you, Mr Martinez. What is your actual purpose here? To tell us to "be patient" and "behave"? Meanwhile Mr Priestly has visited this thread (which he created!) twice in 21 days. That's two times in three weeks. Two times per over 6000 posts and over 100,000 views.

In comparison, the Cupcakes thread has had over a dozen posts by several Bioware representatives in a single day.

Free pastry is, of course, massively more important than thousands of fans (and more likely, tens or hundreds of thousands) who can't play Mass Effect 3 with THEIR Shepard.

And in these circumstances, you're surprised that some people perceive such attitude as patronising or condescending.

Well, you really shouldn't be.

What will happen first? Mass Effect 3 faces patch released or the Faces inducted into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (which is April 14th)?

My theory: The patch doesn't fix it all the way. It corrects the facecode issue, which still results in Shepards that look VERY VERY wrong. (As opposed to making the importer work like ME2, which is raw data).

They know this. They won't release the patch until they get back from PAX, because they don't want their round of back-patting to be interrupted by any more angry fans than it has to be.

They'll avoid releasing it to dodge the fallout from a bad fix. That's the only reason I can come up with for why they're dodging telling us ANYTHING.

Sure, I'd love to be wrong in this case, and be pleasantly surprised by a patch before PAX, with the proper fix in place, so I can play MY Shep... but somehow I don't trust Bioware to do that.

Which, as I've said before, they have until the end of March, for me. If the patch isn't here by then, I have a copy of ME3 that's going right back on the store shelves, and I'm going to take that 60, and get Skyrim.

Luckily I've never read his signature in detail, so I didn't get spoilered. But his lack of consideration for others almost rivals Bioware.

THIS.  This is a huge concern for me.  I just started my ME3 campaign yesterday & spent 4 hours trying to create my character from ME2.  It doesn't look anything like my character.  That said, they are going to have to completely revamp the character creation tool & add more options.  Existing features don't allow you to make your characters appearance like ME1 & 2.

Its like they said, "default male shepard looks good ship it."

What do you guys think?  Im concerned that even with this fix, my character isn't going to look anything like she did in ME2.

I don't know how this will be fixed.

I compared the CC from ME1 to ME3 and some people are going to have entirely different features due to the fact that some assets no longer exist, have been altered, or whatever.

Luckily, I was able to create a Shepard that resembled my canon pretty good if not better than before. However, this is a pretty big issue. I don't understand how something like this just slipped. Hell, it was made aware by the time the demo came out.

There was also a thread going for a week before release, already discussing the very problems we now have, which was totally ignored, until it got closed after release in favor of this thread.

Seriously?

#1. C.A. and DJ R, I respect your opinions, but it's my damn signature. I can do what I want with it. Read my post. Who's telling you to read my signature?

#2. FS4P, what? When? Who are you? If it's buried in here among the 240+ pages, sorry if I missed ONE post about my signature. Here's an idea: PM me so I'm sure to get it.
I'm certainly not selfish and I'm probably the fathest thing from an idiot, so stow it if you've got nothing else to say.

And you may not have noticed, but I changed it anyway so my freedom of speech won't ruin the ending of a game that's been out for almost a month. Be warned, it's going back to it's original text about a week after the application of the patch that has been mentioned in this post. I figure that's about enough time for those of us waiting to play ME3 with our "real" Shepards to finish.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled program.

Ice Cold, learn what freedom of speech is. It's a legislation specifying that the government will not prevent you from expressing yourself in whichever form you see fit, but it also stipulates that you alone are responsible for the expression of your views and must face the consiquences of them.

This forgets the fact that this is a privately owned forum and not one owned by the US government or indeed any government, so the forum can issue its own rules, constitution be damned.

People who wave the "Freedom of speech" card very rarely understand what that right actually means.
