Out of the 7 Shepards I tried importing, only one was even remotely close to the original face.

I refuse to do my "canon" playthorugh until this is fixed.

And the default options suck... **SPOILER REMOVED**.

But, hopefully it gets resolved soon.

Change your bloody signature if you are going to post in NON-SPOILER forums.

I'll second that! :pinched:

You're not the first person to tell him that in this thread, but he just doesn't listen. A pure selfish idiot.

Luckily I've never read his signature in detail, so I didn't get spoilered. But his lack of consideration for others almost rivals Bioware.

Really?

Seriously?

#1. C.A. and DJ R, I respect your opinions, but it's my damn signature. I can do what I want with it. Read my post. Who's telling you to read my signature?

#2. FS4P, what? When? Who are you? If it's buried in here among the 240+ pages, sorry if I missed ONE post about my signature. Here's an idea: PM me so I'm sure to get it.
I'm certainly not selfish and I'm probably the fathest thing from an idiot, so stow it if you've got nothing else to say.

And you may not have noticed, but I changed it anyway so my freedom of speech won't ruin the ending of a game that's been out for almost a month. Be warned, it's going back to it's original text about a week after the application of the patch that has been mentioned in this post. I figure that's about enough time for those of us waiting to play ME3 with our "real" Shepards to finish.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled program.

It is a NO SPOILER forum. Your posts include your signature. It will still be a spoiler 1 week after patch, and this will still be a NO SPOILER forum. If you want to post in a NO SPOILER forum, DON'T HAVE SPOILERS IN YOUR SIGNATURE.

Freedom of speech is no excuse for deliberately ruining peoples experiences.

Next time I see a spoiler in a signature in a NO SPOILER forum, I will report it, and I hope everyone else does the same.

"And you may not have noticed, but I changed it anyway so my freedom of speech won't ruin the ending of a game that's been out for almost a month."

Seriously, you think that kind of attitude is acceptable behaviour in THIS kind of thread? I have grave misgivings about your claim you aren't a selfish idiot.

Technically protected speech only matters in terms of the government itself imposing on your right to say or do something. When you're in a private space, aka a game developers' online message board, you relinquish your freedom of speech and are bound by the terms and conditions you accept when you registered. So EA/Bioware are well within their rights to limit your speech to whatever strike their fancy.

It isn't even about that. Its RESPECT for your fellow customers. Spoilers are mostly enforced by US out of COURTESY. This 'person' clearly has no respect or courtesy for his fellow man. Its just sickening.

Oh I got that, its just a pet peeve of mine when people hide behind freedom of speech for something annoying when it technically doesn't apply.

Technically. Ethically. Socially. Pretty sure you guys got freedom of speech written up in the constitution to protect you from abuses of government, not so you can jerk people around.

Ok so I just read a quick news blurb about that cupcake campaign....that is entirely stupid. But interesting if it works.

Also, I hope there will be news soon of when this patch will be released but I'm in belief like that one poster that said they're gonna stall till after PAX East

Circus. Sure is. The funny thing is the nonsense in Mass Effect and Dragon Age seems more and more real when compared to the forums. Doesn't help that the people running the show can't perform basic human functions like acknowledgement and apology.

It seems Lion has left the building already.

Why doesn't Dr. Ray grace us with his presence. I think we deserve an apology. If he could take time from his busy schedule and talk to us "little people" about the issue. Why was the ending the only thing he's commented on since the release of the game. He should say something to us at least. We deserve that much.

Honest question you guys.  Lets say tomorrow the patch goes live & now you import your face from ME2-ME3.  Do you think your character is going to look anything like it did in ME2?

Reason being, I spent 4 hours 2 days ago trying to re-create my character from ME2 & with the current character creator tools, it doesn't look anything like her.

Unless the character creator is modified in some way in the upcoming patch I fear that our characters won't look the same.

Hello again,

No Mr. Cat has not left the building but being on GMT+1, I am not at the office during the most busy US hours and had to tend to the family a bit. I'm usually on anyway but I couldn't last night unfortunately.

I want to clear a few things up. Firstly I don't work OUT OF BioWare Austin or Edmonton but I am just as much a full time employee nonetheless. My actual duties do not include these forums but I chose to ask for permission to talk to you as I believe it's needed. In fact my prime tasks involve Nordics only but I care about all fans so I'm here on my own accord.

I don't expect my presence to make your frustration regarding this problem and how you feel you been treated to magicially disappear, nor am I feeding you something that I don't genuinely believe. You are very much entitled to voicing your opinions and you should not be moderated for it as long as it's not personal attacks or trolling towards BioWare staff members.

I do however, in the situation we're in hope that you can see that we are actually working on issues and that we hear you. Everything said here is compiled and conveyed to the correct people, both at EA and BioWare.
I know that it might not always seem that any of us are around, especially with a perceived "silence" when there's no post from BioWare staff for X amount of time. But we are and we do. Also this is something I CAN affect and thus I'm doing my best to affect it.

Now I can't talk specifically why this error was in the live game, simple reason is that I wasn't part of the process. I know how irritating it can be though, I have friends who are affected. I've been lucky as I run PC stock MaleShep but it doesn't lessen my empathy for the need for a fix. I acknowledge it fully.

Thanks for replying Lion.  Here is my concern.  I have tried almost every possible combination to make my femshep look like she did in ME2.  Its simply impossible.  Many of the character creation tools that were in ME2 are either not working, or do not exist in ME3.  I cannot get into character.  Its really hard constantly trying to pretend that this new character that doesn't look anything like my character from the previous 2 games is the same person.  I am hoping with this patch this is addressed.  If Bioware has to make the character creator more complex so be it, but right now I cannot play the character that I invested hundreds of hours into.

I have to admit that the imported face gave me a laugh like no other videogame ever made me laugh. If there ever was a derpface... my import had it.
Out of that I just took an hour to recreate my 'game'-face, wrote the code down, and off I was :)

I think about 50 pages back we were trying to work-around our way with Gibbeds Save Editor. You know there is a LOT of fine tuning you can do if you go deep enough into the data. It´s not just pushing sliders back and forth to see a new nose or mouth (although these are part of your overall face too), no there are over 2000 entries of vector data that represent the face in the world environment. As there is no explanation what each single vector does affect and due to the enhanced graphics engine and thus the addition of some hundred more vectors in comparance to ME2, it is impossible for outsiders to determine which vector affects what part of the face.

But to me this isn´t bad news. It means that the new ME3 faces are way more detailed and I think BioWare could easily fix the face vector data so that it imports correctly into ME3. The only thing that bothers me is that a lot of meshes are either gone ore look too different from their original counterparts... We will have to see how that works out. The only thing we can do for now is wait for the patch...

I'll be honest, it kind of irritates me that the same bug that was already in the demo for some people has not yet received a hotfix. Demo was released on Feb. 14th (iirc), and it is highly likely that the BiowarEA QA gave the demo a quick glance before it's release. So they likely knew about the bug for quite a few weeks now. That they were able to get a Day-1 DLC approved but at the same time don't seem capable to do the same for a (in comparison to "From Ashes" small) hotfix is a wee little bit disturbing, I must say.

I can hardly believe that. Many people says so, but they wouldn't miss the opportunity if Bioware released another Mass Effect (or add-on).

I promise you, I will not be buying any Bioware product from now on. Even if they seperate from EA.
And another mass effect would be a low blow. And since it won't be about Shepard anyway, I won't be emotionally connected anyway.
