This fix would matter to me if I had even a speck of desire to import any of my other Shepards into ME3... but at the moment, sadly, I do not.

Though I will agree it is surprising that such a HUGE bug as this face import problem (which I also experienced) made its way into the game.

It's less surprising when you see that big "EA" on the box.  I'm fairly certain they knew of this, and EA marked it low priority.  Why do you think they've been hyping so much before release, that it's a great game for new players to start with, and saying (on their twitter and elsewhere) that players should "start a new Shepard in 3 before importing"?

They knew it was broken and pushed through.  EA likely just figured, eh, fix it after release.  Bad move, really.

Not so much.

Almost all of the features from ME1 are available at character creation in ME2. Even if they tested some ME2 save imported from ME1 they had to be lucky to get a faulty character.

The impact on the community is quite big because we are thousands of players and many of us have multiple characters.
It's a nobrainer that in such a number of import a big portion of characters would be faulty.

That being said, they should have at least bothered to remember that some features from ME1 character creator were not available in ME2 and that the resulting faulty face codes would have caused problem in ME3.
But it's quite possible that the people who developed the character creation screen were different for each game.

I know a thing or two about patience(I'm still waiting for Shenmue 3 lol) but this is just getting on my nerves. Every time I walk in and out of my room I see my ME3 CE and rage starts to build.

I'm really getting sick of multiplayer. My galactic readiness is %100 and if I go a day without playing its in the 80's. Anyone else think this is ridiculous. And lets not forget about the stupid packs that give me not one good item ever. So far I've only unlocked about 3 characters and not one N7 weapon. I mostly get weapons I don't want or upgrades to the weapons I don't want. Curse you Bioware.

No face import, gimped SP; meanwhile over in the MP forum their getting big promos & freebies.

Truly I'm just about done with them.

"just about done"??? Really?? Shipped a game with a huge problem. Took forever to post that there is a fix, currently pawning it off on Microsoft and everyone else by saying we are waiting on them to release a patch?? You are a forgiving person. I am becoming a fan of BoulderStar.

I seem to remember they released a bunch of stats with ME2 covering how many times people had played the game, what percentage of people chose each class, who they saved etc.

With this is mind I'd like to know the following stats:
1) what % of people who bought the game stopped playing within 2 hours or so as they couldn't cope with their Shepard
2) what % haven't played single player at all
3) of those who have played and completed single player, what % of those used default Shep and/or didn't play ME1 or 2

Add:

4) of those who completed a SP game, how many replayed?  I suspect it will be MUCH MUCH lower than either ME1 or 2.  MUCH lower.

Yeah, this is great, really. I remember when Bioware viewed fans as actual people with interests, and wants and opinions in a game.

Along came EA. Now, we are all seen as very large wallets that happen to walk around.

Who has a "large wallet"?  Mine is pretty damn small.  I'm loathe to open it.

I mean "large" as in "human-sized".  Sort of like in the old Looney Tunes shorts, where (for whatever reason at the time) one character would be considering eating the other, and would view them as a huge sandwich with legs.

Like that, only with a wallet.

I'm still stuck with 'that one Shepard I only played ME2 with on a try-out run', New Game plus-ing with this char I don't really care for. Can't wait to finally import my 'real' Shepards.

The delay is not even the worst part, it's the lack of information...

Bioware, have your ever been stuck at the airport waiting for a plane, or inside a subway, waiting to move ? When something like that happen, do you prefer hear the truth about the delay - even if it's bad news ? Or do you prefer to wait in the dark, with no reason, no excuses, no information about when you will be able to leave ?

I do believe that you can't predict when the certification process will be over, by there are things that you can tell us and that you owe to us : we paid for something that is broken, we paid for something that we CANNOT USE.

So once again, could you please tell us if the patch (not just the fix on import) is complete and if the patch has been delivered to Microsoft and Sony ? If yes, when did that happen ?

Thank you for stopping ignoring us.

Bioware used to care
Baldur's Gate was oh so great
Neverwinter Nights felt so right
MDK2 was something new
Jade Empire engulfed me like fire
KOTOR was never a bore.
Mass Effect took away my breath
Dragon Age was all the rage
But sadly now, Bioware don't Biocare

We're on the same team here I can just come across rather... "incendiary" at times. You have to be when you're surrounded by pesky children! Internet should be a privilege, not a default! Back in my day we had to wait for .jpg's to load /rant

My female Shepard was absolutely, unequivocally butchered when I imported her. I actually laughed for a few seconds before realising that was actually the import I was getting and not just a default Shepard face...

I was fortunate that my male Shepard not only imported relatively well but I could actually make him look better in ME3 than he did in ME2, so i've done a complete Paragon run so far - not sure if i'll bother doing much else unless DLC is free; being able to solo silver Cerberus runs on multiplayer as a Salarian Infiltrator repeatedly (Utter, utter domination) means there's no real point teaming up with complete strangers I have no way to communicate with, and to be honest I have other things to soak up my free time that are probably more enjoyable.

What was meant to be the epic finale to a trilogy that started with pure excellence turned out being a Michael Bay-esque filler for Guild Wars 2. The odd amazing, cliché moment wasn't enough to ignore the sense of disappointment.

Your attitude to the people around you, and your derpy nick, show everyone exactly what kind of person you are, and exactly how high we should hold your 'opinions'

I've been lurking here mainly for the issue of not importing at all on pc, and not really paying all that much attention to the different faces issue. After all, my first ps3 playthrough was reasonably similar, and actually better-looking (Pedro's dermatologically challenged uncle became Tom Selleck). Then, last night, I started a 2nd ps3 playthrough (while my pc ce still gathers dust), and my gorgeous blonde renegade femshep became the hideous love-child of Quasimodo and Anne Ramsey.

I'm going to return mine on Saturday.

It's clear Bioware plans to wait until post-PAX.

Hell, EA probably told them "Huh, people are desperate for this fix... if we bundle it in a DLC, that's guaranteed sales!", so they'll probably announce the new DLC that adds some multiplayer crap we don't care about, and also fixes the faces.  Only (arbitrary number) of Bioware Points!
