Sorry, but what exactly do you want to hear?  An hourly report of "we are still working on it"? I haven't touched the game either as I can't import "my" Shepard, but I am patient. They are working on it, and the fix will be ready when it's ready. No amount of shouting "WE WANT UPDATES NOW" is going to change how long it'll take. ;)

No, ME1 reuses areas far, far too much, and much worse than DA2.  You're letting nostalgia cloud your vision.  Go reply ME1, right now.  I am about to finish another replay of it, and I can tell you, it's getting really annoying to see the same buildings, mineshafts, and underground facilities, over and over.  Literally in the course of some missions, you will visit the same underground building design 3 times or more!  Some of the UCN Cerberus missions have you going into that same building 3 times, the mission on Luna has the same thing, so on and so forth.

...

While I agree that Bioware was just as guilty of reusing assests on the generic filler missions in ME 1, I was actually able to overlook it  more often than I was in DA 2. I just roleplayed it as all these groups just happened to have contracted with the same prefab suppliers.

Some of the structures were far too empty for their purpose in ME 1 in my opinion, but I was less annoyed than I was in DA 2 where Bioware didn't even bother to hide the portions of the map that weren't in use and did a horrible job of blocking off the unused sections. of the mines. Piling rubble up in the doorways would have been preferable to the doorjambs with a smooth wall blocking the way.

Funny, that's just how I felt. Reused places in ME never bothered me much, partly because I could actually make up some whacky ingame explanation in most cases, partly because although the buildings were the same they weren't located in and around one lifeless city, but in different star systems! Well, the reused stuff in DA2 wouldn't have bothered me anywhere as much if I had as much fun playing DA2 as I had playing ME.

On topic: talk to us

"Patient" is expecting to wait a few days to a week from release for a patch for a feature that was supposed to be working AT release.

This has been a MONTH.  It's inexcusable.  It really shows how far Bioware has fallen since EA got their talons in.

No I just wanted to get a sense if there was any additional information.  Prior to today I had never posted on Bioware's site.  I noticed the problem when I tried playing ME3 for the first time awhile back, didn't know what the problem was and then left it alone as I didn't have time to play again for awhile.  Fast foward to about a week ago and I noticed the problem was still there so I looked for any info on the internet and I saw the info about a patch but no particular release date.  Fast forward to today and I simply just wanted to know if there was anything else that I might have missed.

Sorry about wasting anybody's precious time here.  It was my mistake to refer to a forum where people actively follow this stuff to gather information.

Well, I think people would be more patient if they didn't feel conned. It's been so long now that most people like me who bought the game on release day paid full price. The game is now being discounted in stores and we've paid full money for it, bought DLC before playing it to give us the full experience in many cases, and now the game has been discounted before we've even had chance to play it.

I was annoyed at first, then thought what the hell lets just play it with a new shep, but I couldn't carry on after a few hours.

People just want to know somekind of info other than something along the lines of "it'll be done when it's done".

Exactly.  And what AresCrusader doesn't realize is not everyone who posts here is on the boards 24/7, or even daily.  There are lots of casual or semi-casual gamers out there like me who follow what's going on but don't dissect a game every single day.  Of course there's no way he would know that, but it is unfortunate he would presume that I am an annoying fanboy (or girl) as opposed to just someone who was looking for a simple piece of information after not seeing any updates for an extended period of time :innocent:

You mean another weekend closer to returning the game to the store.

I made a thread on several issues including this one and it was locked within minutes, by a Bioware staff member saying that it should be discussed here.

http://social.biowar.../index/10812613

So, here is the contents of my post:

...many of us are still waiting to play the game as intended using the Shepards we created 5 or so years ago and we bought the game at full price and day of release. It's been some considerable time now, and there still hasn't been a hotfix for what really is an important mechanic of the game. Some like me tried playing the game with different characters, but it just doesn't feel right.

Imagine buying a pencil, taking the wrapper off and finding that it's been snapped in half. It'll still write, but feels akward and clumsy and isn't what you were expecting when you paid your money. Thats how I feel at least.

There's been a sticky thread on this forum regarding the face import issue created by a member of Bioware to detail whats happening with this with over 6500 replies in 24 days. Less than ten of these have been from Bioware staff, and 8 of them have been in the last couple of days (thanks Lion Martinez for attempting to show us we hadn't been forgotten), and even so, the only info we've had is that we're working on it and it'll be ready when it's ready. The fact there hasn't been any kind of apology, especially seeing as it seems that this was a design choice and not a bug (the error message alone is a large indicator of this, let alone that elements of the character creation tools have been removed entirely so that reconstruction of faces can't be made manually, and even if your face code works, it still looks different alot of the time)

Now that the price of ME3 is dropping, many of us feel cheated out of our money as if we'd have waited until now we could have paid £10-£15 less than we did at release.

Many of us have now had the ending of the game spoiled by coming on these "NO SPOILER" forums where people keep posting spoliers here instead of in the other forum which says "SPOILERS ALLOWED". I know thats probably not directly Biowares fault, but you guys clearly have admins here in your employ, and should move these threads into the other forum, or worst case remove them all together.

This string of issues (i haven't mentioned the ending because I haven't seen it myself yet so can't comment), coupled with the lack for forthcoming info really isn't good enough. Basic business customer service is pretty much non-existant here at the momen't, where it used to be very good from you guys.

What the hell is going on Bioware? This is ridiculous.

Quite honestly, now I am flabberghasted by this.

Just been Pm'd by staff basically telling me we shouldn't even be complaining here and that "Primary customer service is and has always been provided by our publisher. customer service issues should be directed to EA support."

So really, we're wasting out time even being here.

I've had enough of this now.

Very interesting, since EA customer service told me this:

"Please note that as you have been suggested to post your issue in Forum, you will get update as soon as our developers respond to your problem, so I request you to keep track on your issue in Forum, whether it is answered."

So, on the forum they tell us to go to customer service...customer service tells us to go to the forum...

They told you this?  If you go to EA and click on forums then Mass Effect it brings you here.  Who ever told you this should not be employed here if they don't know whats going on.  The customer service here is the pits.

EA then tells you something different, it seems no one knows what the other is doing and they are blaming each other, and no one wants the responsibility for the issue.  Very sad.

Seriously if it's not fixed by the 6th I'll consider returning the game and seeing what I can get if I Just trade in the normal game and keep the N7 extra stuff.

I e-mailed EA about this issue and added in all the questions that you guys and myself have been asking. This is the garbage response I got and no I'm not joking about this. This was an ACTUAL response.

"Hello (my name),

Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts.

I understand your issue that you are not able to load your saved content in the game. To correct the problem, please follow these steps to clear cache for your Xbox console.

Clearing the Cache:

1.Power on the Xbox 360 console.
2.Navigate to “My Xbox”.
3.Select “System Settings”.
4.Select “Memory”, highlight the storage device, and press “Y” on the controller. (Do not press the “A” button.)
1.If there are multiple storage devices on the console, it doesn’t matter which storage device is selected as the cache is cleared for all storage devices.
5.Select “Clear System Cache”.

For any help with the steps above, please do not hesitate to approach us. Alternatively, please visit our online knowledgebase here: http://help.ea.com/

At Electronic Arts, we value your co-operation and efforts.

Regards,
Gaurav
Electronic Arts- World Wide Customer Experience."

Can you believe that. Not only did they completely ignore all my questions but they gave me some bogus answer that has no relevance to the matter.

This screenshot just tells everything about quality of Mass Effect 3.

I don't know what happened to Bioware but the game is really huge downgrade in everything comparing to ME2 and ME1.
And still no patch to fix it. Sad.

Seems to be a pattern - comparing Dragon Age II to Dragon Age, in which the character one played in the first game did not exist in the second.

Hmmm...

For those who are concerned with the face import issue: put a helmet on Shepard and you will not realize that in fact it is not your Shep. Then go and beat the game! ;)
