Right after the ME3 achievements leaked, there was a thread complaining about the lack of trilogy-spanning achievements. Some thought it would have been nice to give veteran fans special achievements for being with the series since the beginning. A mod (pretty sure it was woo) came in and said, basically, that Bioware doesn't play favorites. Everyone gets treated equally, thus giving long time fans special rewards would be unfair.

Maybe that's what happened here. Everyone gets the same character creator. Your face from two games ago no longer exists? Too bad. You don't get special treatment.

Not condoning this, obviously. Just trying to make sense of it.

Also, I'm one of the ones being affected by the choices not importing correctly.  I wooed Liara, killed Kaidan, and stayed with Liara, ME3 thinks I boffed Kaidan, killed Ash and stayed with Kaidan.  That is wrong, and they need to fix it.

Even that doesn't work?

Seems to be an error having to do with the Liara romance that isn't registering, as I've seen Liara mentioned repeatedly.

I AM NOT PLAYING UNTIL I HAVE MY SHEPARD BACK.

I have SWTOR, SR3 and Skyrim to keep me busy. ;)

Also, Femsheps are taking the brunt of the abuse from the ME3 CC.

Thank you sir. Adding the new default FemShep was a bad idea in general. I don't know why it mattered...the original default FemShep looks 100% better anyways.

But.... they have our money. Why should they rush to fix it, their mission is complete.

Yeah, I am extremely close to the decision not to buy Bioware games anymore. The way they handled this is criminal.

You cant be serious......It's a minor flaw thats being worked on. Even saying that its criminal is ridiculous. What if your power went out due to unforseen reasons and you couldnt play. Would you consider that criminal?

A minor flaw? Maybe for you, but not for me, the game as it is now is unplayable for me. Knowing something is wrong for a very long time (which Bioware did know, they couldn't have missed this), and not informing the fan base about it is criminal as far as I am concerned. If I had known this, I wouldn't have bought the game (at least not until the issue was fixed).

It might be (depending on the reason for the black-out), but it is irrelevent, since that wouldn't be Bioware's or EA's fault.

So you're telling me based on your assumption that they didnt know its criminal?  Wheres your proof?  I for one dont think they knew about it and I have about as much proof as you do regarding that fact.  Its not gonna kill you to wait a few days to play the game.

Well, no, that might be going a bit far. Thinking about it from a programming perspective, I think it's more of a case of them not testing the facial changes from Shepard to Shepard so thoroughly, not expecting users to notice or care.
My theory is that it was just a bit unexpected on their part just how important Shepard's appearance is. It's completely psychologically obvious, but these details aren't always evident in the day to day of development.

Epic Legion's Save Editor site is down. Anyone else having this issue? I would guess it is due to traffic...

Trying to figure out the slider positions so I can attempt to frankenstein my Shepard's face back. I will not be playing until I can get my Commander back. Mass Effect without my Shepard is no Mass Effect at all.

This was apparently a PR decision, and not a Bioware dev team decision. We can all glare disapprovingly at upper management, which always wants to get its fingers dirty and ends up doing a ****** poor job.

While I get what you're saying, Kappa, they -claim- they are working on it - I'm going to give Bioware the benefit of the doubt here; they screwed up royally, yes, but they say they're trying to fix it - I'm willing to wait a bit to see if they do. If it ultimately comes down to "Play with a different face, or don't play at all" I MIGHT suck it up and deal with it, but until I know there is NO other solution, I'm going to keep waiting.

Agreed.  My copy is still en route, I'll wait a bit see if the issue can be resolved in a way that's satisfactory/timely.  But if it comes down to creating new faces and just sucking it up, I'd rather suck it up while playing a used copy from the GameStop $20 bargain bin 6 months from now.

I agree.  This is an epic failure.  Its such a huge factor that we have been able to continue our character through this series, and to load up part three and not be able to load our characters face is a complete failure.  I refuse to play it like this.  Which really sucks because I had planned on playing last night.  I demand another update from bioware.  I may have to rethink my future purchases if this is how they treat their loyal customers.

I'm taking this as an opportunity. I have a presentation Friday morning and not wanting to play without my shepard works to my advantage, being able to focus on the work. Though I will want to play once it's done so I hope we have a patch by then. Until then I'll work on finishing some of my other Shepard playthroughs of ME2...

which I will be unable to properly import until the patch comes out, Still hoping for sooner than later.

I might break down come the weekend because I have been anticipatin playing this game for far too long.

I was as mad as most of you Tuesday morning at 03:00 am when I finally had the disk downloaded on my hard drive and had beat the Reckoning demo. I jumped on ready to take on the reapers. Then was denied MY shepard's face. I got right on the internet and seen I was not alone. I thought about what to do. I desperately wanted to play but I couldn't play without MY shepard. So I went to work. After about an hour and a half of messing with the custom creator. I got a dang near twin.
Now During the 1st few cut scenes I was really focused on him. Too the point I was not even paying attention to what was being said too much. At first I could tell there was small , and I mean small differences in his cheeks and stuff, it seemed a little off and I was ready to put the game down and not play until there was a fix. But there were enough cut scenes that after the 1st few I was convinced It was so close I would be ok. The difference was so small and the game was so good. I keep wanting to play. I'm glad I did. Because he is so close to the same and now that I'm into the game away's I can't tell any difference. From him and my other shepard. If I were to be able to compare photos of them side by side I might be able too. But since I can't In the game, and all I'm seeing is his face I can't tell them apart.
I know this is not everyone's fix. I know its not an excuse on bioware's part. And I'm a bioware fan boy. I just wanted to put this out there for anyone on the fence. If you spend some time you should be able to get really close and the game is so good. If you can get close about 2 or 3 hrs in you won't be able to tell a difference.

To me this shows that they didn't thoroughly test the game. I've been on the tech support forum since release and there's been abundant other problems with the game other than this. I doubt face nodes will be a priority on their list but I damn sure hope it is. It is unacceptable to have such a game breaking bug at this point in the series..

I'm also not playing until I get my Shepard back.

The only thing I can really do is say that I definitely won't be purchasing any DLC until this gets fixed. If I'm not going to play the main game with my Shep, why would I purchase DLC that doesn't include him either. So essentially BW wont receive any of my points until it happens, hopefully that's enough of a motivating factor to get it fixed asap.

What I can't -- or to be more specific -- shouldn't have to put up with is an arbitrary overhaul of the CC that screws up the values to the point that I can't even come close to my original.  And that's with footage(DVR) of ME1 & 2 Sheps being played and stopped as I go through the process.

Yes, that's something else I can't wrap my head around. I agree that it would be great to have the missing slider options back. No idea how much work that would be. Don't count on it getting fixed.

Also, I'm one of the ones being affected by the choices not importing correctly.  I wooed Liara, killed Kaidan, and stayed with Liara, ME3 thinks I boffed Kaidan, killed Ash and stayed with Kaidan.  That is wrong, and they need to fix it.

Ok, that's something that really needs to be fixed! Not having the right face AND the right background is crippling. Did this happen to a lot of people? I hear little about it.

There's truth to that, noticed same in demo...however not gonna pay $84 dollars for it.  Will return, wait a while, pick up used.

FemSheps are getting the absolute brunt of this. My Shepard is basically inachievable. I came close by working at it for hours, but I'm just not feeling it yet.

We're still complaining, so nope. No fix or patch yet. Just workarounds, and the problem is being looked into.

Surprisingly, I actually have a use for my Twitter account now! Never really bothered using it before... just hopped over there to bug the official Mass Effect feed about this; haven't gotten a reply yet... I'm not sure, though, if that's because they just haven't gotten to it yet, or if they're ignoring it. On the plus side, I did also find Chris Priestly's Twitter - someone asked him about it a couple hours ago, and he claimed "the face issue is being worked on, but no eta on a fix."
