If all you you're doing here is checking for updates from bioware, than you need only look at the official replies.

Thanks, I had no idea that was possible.

It is unfortunate that I can not do something similar to find posts with new information from the fans looking into the problem technically. Or is there perhaps another place where that information comes together?

I forgot to mention that while in the ME2 face creator, I wrote down on a piece of paper the exact number of clicks I had to make per slider. I did this since I was curious to find out if following my newly written "guide" would yield the same face in the ME3 creator. For my FemShep character, it did. For my MaleShep, I still had to do the same tweaking I did when I just imported the ME2 face code.

I had the same experience with my male shep, althought his face was simple for recreation even without face code or slide positions. But still...he looks different in game :(

My FemShep has been very fortunate since she looks the same throughout the series but not because the ME3 face importer worked. It's only because I had the exact slider instructions saved to a text file since 2007.

My MaleShep though does look slightly different in ME3 only due to the fact that his smooth complexion from ME1 & ME2 is absent in ME3.

As someone has mentioned before in this thread, certain options (hair, scars, etc.) were removed/changed from the character creator in ME1 which is probably causing the problems everyone is having. I guess we'll find out once the patch comes out if all will be well or not.

I'm tired of this. I wait only till Friday and then I play ME1 from the beginning - probably with the same Shepard... I'm afraid I can't create a new character until I have completed trilogy with the old one.

Know how you feel buddy.  You need that sense of closure.

I finally decided to start playing with a Shepard and live with his new look. Hoping this patch comes out before the other ones whos look would be impossible to recreate.

Yep. In fact, I wish my Shepard had died at the end of ME2. It would be much easier now - knowing that I simply can not continue the story I'd just start ME1 with default Shep (which makes no problems with the face import, I presume).

I notice a lot of people here going back to ME1 to commence new playthroughs. I myself have just commenced a new playthrough from scratch with a a custom femshep so I suppose something positive has come out of this whole face import debacle.

I love you Mass effect 1

Starting a new game may not guarantee it will work...

I played through ME1 and ME2 in anticipation of ME3, so I could start it with my import in one smooth playthrough.

That worked out just great...

What exactly may not work? When you start new game with default Shepard you can move him/her without problems to ME2 and ME3 because he/she looks the same in every game - isn't it so?

I've heard some people have problems with the default Shepard too. Only if it started from ME1. Importing one that started in ME2 works I think

7 of April will be a great day. A whole month I haven't played in ME3, I would love to, but I stopped myself. And why? Because Bioware still cannot release a patch! Fast!!! We want to play!!!

OK, but what would be the problem? Because even if the error message ("Face can't be imported...") shows up, it makes no difference. Default face changes into default face, ergo: nothing changes.

It could change into a non default face perhaps. But you would be able to select default face instead of import, I think.

I was mainly refering to people playing ME1 as a positve thing. I do realize that it will not make a differance when it comes to ME3 import problems.

Indeed. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there can be any unresolvable problem when playing default Shepard.

Just want to echo what Lion has been saying, we have no update right now but we're absolutely working on this as priority. As has been stated before we've fixed the issue and as soon as it's passed QA tests by our own BioWare team, Microsoft and Sony it will be released to you. This is called "certification time" and isn't 100% under our control on how fast it can be deployed.

Now, if I were you I wouldn't care for the reasoning behind the delay, I would just want to know that people are working on it and that it is coming. It is. When? Unknown at this time. Not the best answer, believe me I know.

I'm sure Chris will blast out the announcement as soon as we know more.

Once again we understand what a pain this is, and are doing our upmost on getting the patch to you as soon as possible.

Yes, exactly. I was unable to recreate my shep becuase that complexion was unable.
So i dont know how upcoming patch will solve this problem...to solve this completely, developers must add all that face customize options (like complexion, scars, hair) that we currently missing in ME3 :(

I don't like the mutiplayer because I don't think multiplayer should effect the single player side of the game.

And WHAT does it fix? I don't care as much about WHEN its coming as I care about if my Shepards face will be BORKED when I finally load it, and snap the damn disc in half with MY TEETH.

Great.
Very helpful!

May you *PLEASE* give us the information *WHAT* has been done or will be done regarding the face issue? Since it is currently in the testing phase, you *SHOULD* know what has been done...
