Keeping the issue at the forefront is a good idea.
Complaining is fruitless.

So complaining is not a way for people to keep the issue relevant ?

Respectfully, I can hardly see how the coding of the forum is breaking down or how leprosy and polio are returning because people are complaining about a videogame.

Newsflash, freedom of speech involves speech you dislike.

Just want to echo what Lion has been saying, we have no update right now but we're absolutely working on this as priority. As has been stated before we've fixed the issue and as soon as it's passed QA tests by our own BioWare team, Microsoft and Sony it will be released to you. This is called "certification time" and isn't 100% under our control on how fast it can be deployed.

Now, if I were you I wouldn't care for the reasoning behind the delay, I would just want to know that people are working on it and that it is coming. It is. When? Unknown at this time. Not the best answer, believe me I know.

I'm sure Chris will blast out the announcement as soon as we know more.

Once again we understand what a pain this is, and are doing our upmost on getting the patch to you as soon as possible.

This is all fine, but can we get an answer to the question as to whether the forthcoming fix also fixes the faces looking different or not?  Considering this is not new information we're looking for, but simply clarification on information already given, I do not understand why it is such an immense problem to get a simple, straightforward answer to a simple, straightforward question.

And again I have to remind you that NO certification is needed AT ALL for pc. So why not release it directly after your own QA tests on pc? Why do PC users have to wait for a certification that in no way affects them in any other way besides delaying it for us?

Well, thanks for telling me how you would react if you were me. But you are not me. And I'm tired of waiting for a game I bought on day one.

Because content of the patch can still change if it goes back to Bioware?

I'm afraid this suggests that Bioware is just plain not listening :-(

Most of us are quite familiar with certification testing, thanks. Some of us have SO's who go through it on a regular basis.

But I do not want to know that "people are working on it and that it is coming." I *already* know that.

What I, and I think most people in this thread would like to know is -
  • Has the patch been submitted for certification testing (nobody from Bioware has confirmed this in writing).
  • When was it submitted for certification testing.
  • What does it actually fix? i.e. does it allow ongoing games to be fixed or require a new save? Does it directly import ME1 assets or just do a match with the ME3 assets? Does it do anything to fix faulty ME2 imports?
All of this information is 100% within Bioware's control and could have been given to us over a week ago and hasn't.

That's what's upsetting people.

Got tired of waiting, so I used my Sheps, slightly odd looking half sister.....she looks like Hey Arnold.....
A fix would be nice though....

The line "As has been stated before we've fixed the issue and as soon as it's

But yeah, it is frustrating seeing someone from Bioware come back after so long just to tell us what we already knew.....again.

How does it effect? Omg that sounds freaking stupid!!!! WTF EA/Bioware?

I don't know if you've played any ME3 yet but basically there are these things you have to gather and you can get them in multiplayer to. And it affects the ending. You can get the best ending without playing multiplayer just it's twice as hard.

Because it really pee the console players off. Like it or not most houses have consoles instead of a decent PC so most of Bioware/EAs sales are going to be through consoles. If it looks like they favour the PC players over consoles even more people could decide they're done with Bioware/EA. That or the patch isn't even through there own QA.
Although I don't think it's anything more than "It's a box with a disc in. IT'LL SELL" seeing as how this bug got through in the first place.

Can you actually get the best ending without playing multi?
I thought someone did the math and found you actually couldn't get the best ending if you exclusively played single player?

Yes but I'm just saying that shouldn't effect the SP of a game. The only thing that should effect the single player is the single player, And if you had to buy the Datapad app (Never heard of it till now) then it's just another way for Bioware/EA to make some extra cash fast. Which they most likely already did with the day one DLC.

You can but you have to do EVERY quest aswell as find and scan every anomaly in the game.

This article has spoilers of what your goal is but not of any missons.

Meanwhile, children all around the world are starving, including in your hometowns. People are dying of cancer. There are wars everywhere in the world...but wait, FORGET ALL THAT STUFF, MY MASS EFFECT CHARACTER LOOKS BAD!!!!!! Everyone in here complaining should be ashamed. WOW! I've been lurking on these forums for a long time, but I had to sign up just to expose what clowns you people are. Deal with it!

I couldn't wait for a patch so I spent about an hour or so in the ME2 character creator reconstructing my Male Shep.

I imported my ME1 male Shep, went into the custom appearance option, played around with the sliders, went back to the part where you have 3 options to choose from (imported face, default face, custom face), clicked imported face and then custom face to compare the two, went back into custom face and tweaked some more until I got my custom face at almost complete likeness to the imported face. It took a bit of my time (about an hour and a half) but I had time to kill and I ended with success,

I imported my new code into ME3 and unfortunately had to do some more minor tweaking (lips were too big) but I got my Male Shep face right and now I'm playing it to completion.

It still irks me though that I had to do this instead of just getting a proper face importer in ME3, but I just couldn't sit around and wait for a patch.

I tried that futs, worked for a while to get the ME2 shep as close to the ME1 one as possible only to try and use the code in ME3 and find that her hair had become a monochrome red, her face clear like she'd been smothered with makeup. It's like they took all the complexity out of her and left a poorly coded copy. I think my face type may not exist at all in ME3 as well, it's just insane how Bioware could do this and not think at all about the consequences.

I forgot to mention that while in the ME2 face creator, I wrote down on a piece of paper the exact number of clicks I had to make per slider. I did this since I was curious to find out if following my newly written "guide" would yield the same face in the ME3 creator. For my FemShep character, it did. For my MaleShep, I still had to do the same tweaking I did when I just imported the ME2 face code.

I can't say for sure if importing Male faces is more problematic than Female faces, but one thing is for sure, the ME3 face importer is flawed which is something we all knew already since ME3 came out anyway.

For everyone having problems, I guess it's worth a try to use my "method" but be forewarned that it doesn't work perfectly and you might just end up wasting an hour or two.

It still sucks though that I had to spend about two hours of my gaming time to do this. It even sucked just  a little more that I attempted this on a work night since I only get about two hours to play on a work night. I got the face right but I had to retire for the night. At least I was going to get to play with my version of MaleShep the next day!

Judging by my horrible attempt with face codes, I think I'll hold off on that method seeing as it would likely be a waste of time. I just want Bioware to allow me to directly import the features of my ME1 Shep that was transfered into ME2 just fine. Why is that so hard!? They got it right between ME1 and ME2, so how has the system actually gotten worse in that time? Technology is supposed to improve not degrade!

Okay, another pointless non-answer. Not helpful in any way, but kinda expected. The "if I were you I wouldn't care" part is new, though. Seriously, why? Most of the (non-)communicatio going on with major ME3 problems is already very much giving me the impression that you (Bioware) don't care all that much, so please don't tell me how I'm supposed to feel. ****!

Actually most of us are upset at having bought a broken game. If you think it's wrong to be upset for not getting what we paid for you must be one of those people who bends over whenever EA snaps it's fingers.

If there are all these people dying etc and you think it's bad we're complaing about a game, aren't you worse by complaining about us instead of being out there helping these people?

But more to the point, go back to your bridge troll.

Is there really a stance in any discussion that "your problems are meaningless because other problems are worse". What's wrong with the world having multiple problems?

I agree it sounds more positive than any of the previous statement, but I'm afraid it's still vague enough that you have to read it charitably to work on the basis that the patch has actually been submitted.

And I'm afraid given some other recent statements from Bioware and the length of time this has taken with very bad communication my charity is now in fairly short supply...

Thanks again for somekind of assurance that you guys are hard at work, it does help a little.

But...

If you guys have made a patch that remedies this problem, surely there isn't any reason why you can't tell us how you have fixed this problem, IE:

1. Does it go back to read raw data?
2. Did you add the features necessary to the character creator, meaning that each slider now has more options?
3. Are imports now perfect, or does it import what parts of the face work, and then give default settings for those that don't?

I can't see why the information above can't be given if the patch has already gone to cert.
