Well, you have to admit, ME3 really plays to their new motto "Press a button and something awesome happens." ... Right from the start, we are treated with such awesomeness it's nearly unbearable. You press a button and that AWESOME error message pops up and tells you there was a (n awesome) error importing your face.

Isn't that awesome? :-P

ROTFLMAO!

They were just saying that Bioware and EA promoted how awesome this game is going to be and most people havn't played it due to this bug. And quite right to. I think that's what they're syaing.

What I'd like to know is,

If the issue is fixed, but we're waiting on patch certification... why are PC players still waiting?

You don't need Microsoft/Sony certification to release a PC patch...

wondering the same...

the answer might be, that most ppl play it on consols & they don't wanna ****** of the majority of the money the get.

f**k that... tbh

As I said already, content of the patch may still change and I'm pretty sure this is the answer. Imagine this situation: Bioware releases the patch only for PC while console versions are still waiting to be certified. They do not get certification because someone finds an error. They need to be changed, reprogramed. At this time, the PC patch is released already and now we finds out it is broken and may cause some other failures. So it needs to be fixed again what may turn out to be much more difficult as players have already installed it! So we (they) have double problem, for PC patch has started to live his own life and now it must be reprogramed separately...

And we wouldn't want that, would we?

Nah, the real answer is simple:
The patch is NOT finished.
Does anybody of you believe if BW says the patch is done and is not able to give the details?
They explain this with being not allowed and the certification tests and and and.... Nonsense.
They can not give the contents of the patch because the patch is not done. And thus they can not release the PC patch.

NOW, BIOWARE, PROVE ME WRONG!

I love how the patch apparently goes through more quality control than the game...

Page 803? I'm only seeing 280 pages. Great... Now I'm missing content. Guess I'll have to break down and purchase the DLC to get the full thread.

(That was a joke Chris) :P

YEAH!!!! Report me to the BW admins!!!
That's the spirit, why so they can ban me for having an opinion? Does
that make you feel TUFF that you reported me clown? Oh wait you can't see me because you because you blocked me...oh well, I'm really upset about that.

Are all you video game freaks this idiotic? I love playing games but it's not the be-all, end-all of my life. I don't sit on my XBox for 16 hours a day, 4 hours on a forum praying for an update that won't come and only 4 hours sleeping. Ever watch sports? How about playing a sport? Going outside? Excerise? Any of the above?

I have other things to do with my life now, like important things, enjoy sitting on the forum all day hitting refresh just PRAYING TO GOD AND HOPING WITH YOUR HEARTS that an update comes. Lord Save Us, Praise Jesus and Mary!!!!

Don't kid yourself. Quality control is being used mostly as a stall tactic here.

How do you interpret this data?  Because if you're successful I'd so like to do that with my Shepard

I'm still on the mapping phase trying to map each ME2 face vertex to one (or more) ME3 vertices.
Once that's done it should be trivial to adjust everyone's ME3 face to their original ME1/2 face.

Trouble is I have yet to find a facecode that minimizes the differences, and I need one for this to work.
The alternative is to go through all 2300 points by hand. Not something I look forward too. =P

Looking at www.masseffect2faces.com now, but it's so damn slow to load the pictures. And most don't have a ME2 comparison anyway... ah well, back to college work.

Interestingly, this was done by many other devs before, e.g. Bethesda with Skyrim. Especially, as the PC-patch is separate anyway (at least from the PS3-patch), caused by the different architectures of the platforms. So even if the PS3 and XBox patches go through certification smoothly, it does not guarantee, that the PC patch is flawless and vice versa (especiall because MS and Sony will most probably neither test nor certify the PC patch).

On a side note, it is even common today, to have beta-patches and beta patch notes for PC, to be able to test the changes done before the actual release.

My guess is, they did either not finish the patch, or "fixed" the face import bug by just adding a line in the field, where ME3 expects the face code, so the error message does no longer appear. By not confirming any changes and not letting one of the platforms get the patch before the other two, and let the info about the non-fix spread, they probably hope to circumvent the new ****storm they will release, if they really went the easy way with this (which I presume).

I think you need to relax, it seems like you're the only one getting upset around here.

PS - I do exercise, only play a few hours a week and I sleep 8 hours a night before I go to work.

And yet here you are complaining about us.So who is more stupid? The people complaining about a critical design flaw, or the person complaining about them? I'll give you time to reflect on that.

Just went into character creation. No fix. Not sure what the Origin update was for.
