Why they having to have 3 companies test it rather then conduct a in house test and release PC version is beyond me.

I was really hoping that the patch would be released in time for the long weekend........
They'll likely hold off until after PAX. That way, if they make fans even angrier at PAX, they'll have something they hope will cool them off.
Stupid move, really. It'll just make people angrier. But don't expect it before PAX.

Hey All
I had a great day yesterday and was walking with a smile on my face![]()

Off corse i mentioned the Face Import in the last post on that topic, I hope that it also made ppl from Bioware aware that something really has to be done asap!
take Care i need sleep.
PS to Iron Sheik if you posted the real truth in your last posting ... man you sure did have a bad day ! But you learned a lesson also ( I Hope).
Did I ever. My cousin is a jackass, haven't talked to him since...the only reason he even knew what a YAML fix was is because I was ****ing about it when the game first came out.....but that's no one's problem on here.
NOW - my real take on the face import issue. I was so mad...really pissed off. I didn't touch Mass Effect 3 for a week after I bought it. I discovered the YAML thingie and tried it. It produced a not bad representation, but it wasn't exact. My Shepard looks so close to me it's scary (in ME1 and 2 of course) this produced something that kind of looked like me, only Mexican....(no I'm not trying to be rude).
So I couldn't resist....I played, and it was good. Now I am back on Mass Effect 2. Which is way better IMO (again, my idiot cousin only knows that from me talking, he's not smart enough to play an RPG.) I am still playing multiplayer on ME3 which is fun to me...much better than GOW3 horde.
So here is my question. I remade my Shepard in ME2 and used the Genesis DLC to "complete" ME1. Does a face created in ME2 import correctly into ME3??????
Hope everyone is having a better week than me.

Can't say I'll never buy a BioWare game again, but I sure as hell won't preorder another one, no matter the bonus. Pre-order is a statement of trust and commitment that BioWare/EA have gambled away with the disaster that is ME3 marketing/PR and reality.
No bonus is worth this level of disappointment.

Yeah, it's pretty pitiful. With me, they gambled (and lost) and burned off years upon YEARS of goodwill, and they managed to do it in less than a month.
The fact that this game has been out for over a month and is still broken, and will likely be broken for another month has pretty much taken me from singing the praises of Bioware, to convincing no less than a dozen people not to buy ME3.

It seems those are the faces that *do* transfer properly, since they generate a face code when created.
Going from ME1 to ME2 and leaving the face untouched doesn't generate the code that ME3 apparently wants so badly.

This is not entirely true. They may transfer without error message, but even with a working face code the/some faces don't look the same, because the face/feature geometry somehow changed, too.

This is what people are talking about when they're asking whether the fix will only address the error message, or *all* import problems.

My Shepard was even slightly different in ME2 after importing from ME1.
Removing features from the previous game/s in the next game/s makes no sense when you tell people they can import THEIR face. It makes no sense... like they did it on purpose to troll us all.

Exactly, I can reproduce my FemShep on ME2 save for exact eye color and blush color, but that code gives me a different enough face in ME3 to know its not right. If they came and said "you will get exactly the same thing as if you were to take a code from 2 into 3", then I would just use the one I already have and make changes so it looks better since thats what I would get in the end, but since they are not saying, I am not risking playing with a lookalike if there is a chance I can play with the real deal.
back to waitting.

Pretty much.
The fact that a version of the patch hasn't been released at the very least to let PC players (who are not legally bound in any way) to test it and give feedback speaks inmense volumes about how screwed up Bioware is right now.

Remember when video games used to work right out of the box. Good times. I guess we were spoiled back then.
Back in the day all I had to do was blow on my cartridge to get it to work.

Remember when games were all pixelated & blocky?
Now we have amazing visuals with immersive stories, music, script. It says a lot about the quality of ME3 that people have gone insane over one small face import glitch (which they've promised to fix), & an ending people judge to be unsatisfactory.
To put it into context try this, ten years ago one of the greatest games ever made was released: Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty. Incredible game, except for the fact that I still to this day have no idea what the hell happened @ the end. It was extremely confusing & illogical (+ Raiden was massively irritating).

Yes I remember, I have a good short-term memory and I remember yesterday just fine.
Even better, unreleased games play fine too! Guildwars 2 works better than ME3 does and it doesn't even have a release date!
I feel EAware should be renamed to bE-Aware.

Still nothing?? ah well, will wait =)
another note though, which has me a little confused..... a few who've posted in here have said they hate EA/Bioware, and they'll never play ME3, yet they continue to post on an EA/Bioware forum, demanding the issue is fixed.... =/ I fail to see the point....if you hate EA/Bioware and ME3, don't post in here, and sell the game....
Can't sell the game, preordered Digital copy through origin. But I still think it was a waste of money, and will NEVER be preordering again. Likely wait for consumer reviews before making another Bioware purchase.
As for why I'll play this when the patch comes out? I may as well, I have it already, and I'd like to finish Shepard's story. With that in mind I'm not inclined to head into any of Bioware's other series.
Your comment frankly makes no sense, as this thread is dedicated to complaints and consumers voicing their opinions on how this will affect their future purchases. If you've no problem with the face import issue, then why are YOU posting here? Might as well just go play your game.
