I think people here are determined to hate ME3 no matter what, looking for issues everywhere. If you say it doesn't affect me & I'm a troll, I say that's because I choose not to be affected where as most here turn it into a gamebreaking problem.

Not this guy. I've invested way to much in this IP to hate ME3 (lithos, books, comics, apparel, etc..). In fact I wouldn't be on this forum of I didn't love Mass Effect and want to enjoy my copy of the game. I think it's great that you choose to not be affected by this issue, but that shouldn't diminish those of us that choose to wait and play the game with the character we created. So in summary I'm not a hater, you're not a troll, and I want the patch before I play;)

I'm interested in what your opinion would be if the workaround didn't work for you on release day?

If your a fan of run and gun then don't worry, its all good. :)

I don't really know tbh! :D

When I initially loaded up the game and it didn't import the face I was like "FUUUUU..........I've been playing this character for 4 and a half years!" and turned it off straight away and turned on my pc to look for a workaround.

One thing I didn't do though in the whole importing process was to not do the last step and tweak the face in ME2. I just used the code that the website generated. This might be why my first Shep looks really good in ME3. He defo looks better than he did in ME2. Time will tell if the same thing happens with my other three characters...

Oh, and I'm not a fan of run and gun. I love my RPGs. One of my fave games of all time is Planescape Torment. I just don't see why I wouldn't play the game at all until a patch came out which doesn't even have a release date yet. If it bothered me that much then I'd just remake the face in ME3 from scratch.

My best mate spent a few hours remaking his Shep from a pic he took of ME2.

I just think to not play the game is a bit too drastic. I understand that a few hairstyles are no longer selectable in the CC after ME1 (same with scars) but the way I see it is that Shep could quite easily have had a hair cut on his time back on earth!
:P

I'm not going to read a 289 page thread but why aren't PC/360 owners using those mod tools/website to get the face code for their ME1 Shepards?

Because it doesn't work for Shepards that used options that aren't in the CC anymore.

I personally don't mind if there is some variation on the look of my previous Shepard, but it still matters to me that my character at least resembles the guy I created and played with in the past two games. It's totally okay for me if there is some change, but what rubbed me the wrong way was was that I have to start from scratch and try to recreate my avatar almost from memory and the frustration of just not being able to get it to look remotely close to what I had before due to a bug.

I personally don't care if EA goes under or makes a billion dollars. I also personally don't care if Bioware gets all the praise in the world or gets hosed in a smear campaign or falls victim to the outpouring of anger by fans (legitimate at times ... overreaction at other times IMO). The only thing I care about is being able to enjoy the game and also not having to deal with annoying bugs like the face import issue that should have been fixed way in advance, especially if there are signs that they knew about the problem ahead of time.

Oh well, until they actually release something, all this back and forth may seem moot. However, I do like the fact that people here can share their frustrations with each other, I know I'm definitely not happy about this stupid problem!

derp. Multiple posts about remaking your shep in ME3 and why we're crazy for not playing the game

I don't want this to come across as being rude because I really don't mean it like that, but at least understand what your talking about before you post stuff like this, thats why people think you're trolling.

BioWare removed assests from the character creation tools for Mass Effect 3. Your 'mate' that remade his face is incredibly lucky (if he got it exact which I doubt) if he managed to do it. Most of us here are unable to do that, or are not computer programmers so don't come here telling people that you can't believe their attitude when they can recreate their shep easily.

They can't.

Also understand that most here bought the game on day one and paid full price for it. The game has now been reduced in most places by 50% and we still haven't gotten to play the game as it was intended.

Do you now understand why people are pissed off?

Well luckily for you it seems the ending is staying the same, just being expanded a bit. For the people that liked the ending it is a victory. They get more of what they want.

Now.. where the heck is the face patch! :D

I'm so tired of some people saying, just get over it or use the work around or that this is not a big deal - its that kinda attitude that will keep allowing companies to screw over gamers - you see the most important thing these people are missing is that I / we are CUSTOMERS. We bought a product that was supposed to function in a certain way and it does not. If this was anything else, a car for example, would you seriously just take it or would you go back and complain and demand what you paid for.

I'm not going to simply get over it or use some workaround - I paid a premium for the pre-order collectors edition and I demand that it functions correctly - yes demand because I'm entitled because I'm a PAYING CUSTOMER

BTW I'm not sifting through nearly 290 pages for people's opinion's on this, sorry to rain on your parade.

If people have actually tried to do the workaround and it hasn't worked then fair enough. But I bet there's a sizeable amount of people on here that haven't even bothered to try it before declaring the end of the world.

Well, I felt as if you called me moron. Maybe you should read a bit between your own lines.

Maybe you should go out and take a walk. You seem to take what Old Fecker said a bit too personnaly ...
He didn't knew some of us couldn't recreate at all our good old Shepard.
There is no need for us, gamers, to start being rude to each others as we all have one goal : getting back our faces ...

There is a lot of us that are tired of whining little babies such as yourself that don't seem to comprehend the words "WE ARE WORKING ON IT AS A PRIORITY"

If you do not understand what those words mean, I suggest you go back to  school and learn english you brainless idiot. There is no need for whining self entitled fools such as yourself to keep going on and on about how something isn't fixed yet. They are aware of the issue, they are fixing it. If you were a true gamer you would know that it can take time to fix somethings. As of right now, all you are is an embarassment to the gaming community and I think you should do the community a favour, pack up your PC or gaming console, take it back to the shop you bought it from and tell them you are too stupid to play games.

I used the work around things and it worked for me. I am sure it can work for you too. The squad . You will have to make some modifications to your shep obviously, but it can be done. Just take a picture of your shep in ME2 and do the workaround thang, then customize accordingly.

I know, you shouldn't have to do this in the first place, but Bioware is stupid.

Clearly you have a valid arguement as defined by your insults, regardless - there is no way this was not a known bug BEFORE release - after all they took the time to write the damn error message, Bioware has spent more time addressing the Ending - which isn't a bug but a design choice that many people don't seem to like.  They were able to hammer out multiplayer and day one DLC but the import bug they couldn't be bothered, after all its not like its the first thing any returning ME player does..  Yeah your right, EA has earned the right to be trusted and left alone, I'm an embarrassment because I want a company to be held accountable for what was clearly an arrogant attempt to siphon money from loyal customers while releasing a product they knew was flawed.

As as for the - they are working on it - EA has shown time and time again that if you let off the pressure they have no desire to do anything.

I look forward to your enlightened response

Sir Ulrich

For someone who claims to understand English you sure don't understand the Bioware Social Network Rules of Conduct regarding posting on these forums "IN A CIVIL MANNER."

Curutain has every right to voice his complaint on these forums and he did so in a civil manner without resorting to a personal attack.  You sir, did not. Perhaps you should heed your own advice.

You're the embarassment. The only thing worse than EA and Bioware screwing over their customers is evangelical gamers like you who stomp around saying we should be grateful for whatever pittance we get for our MONEY that we PAY for working PRODUCTS.

It may seem trivial to some folks, but to others they may feel passionately about this game/franchise and sometimes emtions will run high.  Personally, I'd rather see an army of "whining little babies" get upset about something (especially if it is a legitimate grievance, like a major game bug) than the opposite because often this helps generate a response that otherwise may not happen.

Whether you want to believe it or not, the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

And personally, I don't think throwing hostile responses to people - like calling them an embarassment to the gaming community and pack up your **** and go - is any more conducive to the conversation than the very "babies" that you are calling out yourself.

You're showing your own incapability of normal reasoning with your insulting post.

He wasn't complaining about Bioware, he wasn't demanding anything. He was expressing his frustration towards fanatics who defend Bioware at every turn. People that claim this isn't a problem, saying something about those people is something else entirely.

So you're the one that is an embarassment to not just the gaming community, but humanity. I suggest you do the world a favor and leave this planet. It requires normal behaviour and you are not qualified.
