 Ah man  Anyway, to describe what you missed: she's not a bad looking FemShep but does have that hairstyle that no longer exists. I still managed to get really close to her ME2 face, just gave her a different hairdo on the premise that she hasn't cut it . Really I don't get why this import issue exists for faces like hers, given how closely I managed to recreate her.

I got the patch and simply put, it worked for me but not perfectly for my MaleShep.

I wrote some pages back that I had the exact slider positions for my FemShep saved to a text file since 2007 and using these same figures in the ME2 & ME3 CC before the face import patch produces my version of FemShep. After the face import patch, I get the same thing so that's all well and good but I can only really be grateful to the fact that I saved the slider positions to a text file back in 2007 which made me able to play the game on the release date.

My MaleShep can now be imported but the lips are wrong and his smooth complexion is gone forever. Minor tweaking gives me back my Shepard (sans the smooth complexion) but this is something I already did without the patch. I manually recreated my MaleShep in the ME2 CC and got it to almost perfect likeness and just imported the ME2 code into ME3 and tweaked the lips.

As far as I can tell, the new patch automates what other existing workarounds do and it's common knowledge already that these workarounds do not provide perfect results for everyone and only a small percentage can recognize their version of Shepard after the ME3 face import.

Some people are saying that the new graphic engine in ME3 is causing the problem but isn't the ME2 PS3 version using the new engine? Someone in this thread posted some pages back that he managed to import his ME1 character into ME2 PC then used the generated code on the PS3 version and got perfect results so this new graphic engine can't be the root of the problem. 

Oh Bioware.... what is happening?

Hi Benny. Well, I feel like I've been betrayed by a friend whom I trusted and believed in. I don't want to cut ties (yet), but I want them to understand (and acknowledge) that they messed up and how deeply disappointed I am.

If someone said we're sorry we ruined ME3 for you, that'd go a long way. But the way they insist everything is fine and working as intended is really testing my goodwill.

Yeah, the haircut is my problem, too. Characters tend to look very different without that haircut you are used to.

The yellow bits have been verified by hand. Still need to do most of the mouth and the right eye.
There have been a few complications, but nothing unexpected. It's just going kind of slow now because I have an important college assignment due in 2 weeks.

I also can't predict what the side-effects will be when having a complete map we finally go ahead with the adjustment. It may be that the new skinning and animation system won't like the changes introduced and produce odd behavior.

Thinking of setting up a Google Project or something like that so others can contribute. Pheonix52gx, you around? 

Where can I download this awesome program? And does the changes you make with it work ingame?

I caved and got Shadow Broker and Arrival for ME2 to play through while I wait. Cause if I continue my ME3 save and it turns out the patch can do it better I will be one mardy cow! Granted, that may be a long shot - and sadly I'm not even complimenting my character creation skills.

I would go on at length about the disappointment of it all, but I think that everyone on here has tasted that one by now. There's only really one thing that I feel needs to be said - screwing over the community with a total lack of information aside - this bug simply should never, ever have made it through to release. If Bioware aren't bloody embarassed, they should be.

Tried out the new face import, and while the error message is gone, the results I got are the same as I did when I used the YAML method and tweaked the face code in ME2 to make it match the import (and then put that code in ME3).

Meaning it still looks off. It took them weeks to officially do what the community did in the the first few days. They didn't even bother to fix the fact that the red eyebrows in ME2 come up as grey-ish in ME3 (I know this is something that can be easily changed by me, but it just shows the lack of polish with this iteration of the character generator).

I'm actually not that worried about the ending (*flameshield*), I just want to start the game properly! Having to play MP in the meantime.

The problem is ME3, which doesn't even come close to ME2's quality and breaks so many promises made and expectations raised over years that it cannot honestly be defended with a straight face by anyone not BioWare/EA, a newbie or impressionable teen.
It seems to me that it's the loyal fans who get the shaft, and people new to the franchise (and I count many of those who started with ME2 among them, especially PS3 players) simply don't have the same level of attachment, excitement, emotional involvement and expectation and they dare to tell us to stop whining.Why don't you shut up and leave me alone with your low standards. Enjoy your washed brain and sub-par games.

sub par games? bwahaha. I'm probably even a better and real gamer than you whinner. I also played mass effect 1, 2, and 3, along with hundres of other games may it be ps3, xbox, or pc games. Tsk tsk.. just accept it, you're a whinner. This is just a freakin game. Your lucky Bioware creates games like this that your fat ass can enjoy. Again, if you hate bioware or ME3, then just freakin stop playing it, go out and get some life lol.

Good thing this is mass effect 3, the last on the series. Hopefully bioware will stop creating awesome games like this, and just greate games like angry birds or sorts so that people like you will not complain that they can't import their bird properly lol.
