I caved and got Shadow Broker and Arrival for ME2 to play through while I wait. Cause if I continue my ME3 save and it turns out the patch can do it better I will be one mardy cow! Granted, that may be a long shot - and sadly I'm not even complimenting my character creation skills.
I would go on at length about the disappointment of it all, but I think that everyone on here has tasted that one by now. There's only really one thing that I feel needs to be said - screwing over the community with a total lack of information aside - this bug simply should never, ever have made it through to release. If Bioware aren't bloody embarassed, they should be.
Condratulations. You showed them a lesson by throwing more money at them. Way to do your part!
I had wondered how long it would be before the antagonistic comments started. God knows, I've read plenty of them while I was lurking before deciding to register. I went for the ME2 DLC because I genuinely loved the game and want to continue it. No more, no less. If you feel the need to make snarky comments then go for it - frankly I don't feel I've done anything wrong. Or that you are in any position to judge me. There's no point directing anger about this at each other. Plus, it makes you look silly.

I'm angry now? You speak of passing judgement, yet you have already determined what emotion I was conveying via text on a computer monitor. Sounds pretty judgemental to me. I assure you, I am not angry. I'm quite relaxed actually.

What's interesting is so many people refusing to play the game because of the poor face imports - yet by the time you've seen the ending you'll wish you hadn't played it anyway...
Yeah, I'm REALLY looking forward to it.

A quick question to PC users: how many of you found manually rebuilding the faces gave you a better result than the patch? That is in cases of those whose Sheps weren't missing vital slider components like mouths and such. Just wondering how efficient their fix really is...

If I'm bioware or EA, I'm not gonna create any patch of probably not even a game at all because you people are just simple not worth it. Developers will create good games for us to enjoy and what do we do? COMPLAIN? damn. Not being a racist or something but that's just so american. All you know to do is complain. Stop whining and start playing. Heck if you don't like the game or bioware's patch then why the hell you're here? then stop playing mass effect and grab some other game like Dear Esther or something! geez... you people who always complain deserves nothing at all. Other companies out there will not create great games like mass effect anymore because of your attitude and will probably just create some stupid shallow games that you will never care yet will give them money. Hopeless
Well, I paid 80 bucks for it. If BioWare says they're taking their CE back, I will not play it and return it.
ETA: Besides, Mass Effect was fine, it's when I fell in love with this franchise. That was 5 years ago. ME2, as someone said, was the best in the series. The problem is ME3, which doesn't even come close to ME2's quality and breaks so many promises made and expectations raised over years that it cannot honestly be defended with a straight face by anyone not BioWare/EA, a newbie or impressionable teen.
It seems to me that it's the loyal fans who get the shaft, and people new to the franchise (and I count many of those who started with ME2 among them, especially PS3 players) simply don't have the same level of attachment, excitement, emotional involvement and expectation and they dare to tell us to stop whining. Why don't you shut up and leave me alone with your low standards. Enjoy your washed brain and sub-par games.
sub par games? bwahaha. I'm probably even a better and real gamer than you whinner. I also played mass effect 1, 2, and 3, along with hundres of other games may it be ps3, xbox, or pc games. Tsk tsk.. just accept it, you're a whinner. This just a freakin game. Your lucky Bioware creates games like this that your fat ass can enjoy. Again, if you hate bioware or ME3, then just freakin stop playing it, go out and get some life lol.
Good thing this is mass effect 3, the last on the series. Hopefully bioware will stop creating awesome games like this, and just greate games like angry birds or sorts so that people like you will not complain that they can't import theire bird properly lol.
tsk tsk, you're not a gamer, you're are whinner.
Um, aren't you whining about us?

Bioware needs to understand that as of right now, a large portion of the Mass Effect playerbase cannot even play the single player campaign as a result of this issue. We have put hundreds of hours developing our characters & its only natural to want our shepard to look as he/she has in the previous 2 installments.

Yes. Compared to ME2, ME3 is sub-par. Compared to DA:O, DA2 is sub-par. If you want to support this development with your cash (mine is hard-earned, so I don't) and continue to pay more for less, I'm sure EA will love you and make you a happy customer.

I don't doubt that Bioware understand this, or at least did once. The issue is the lack of respect given to players at this point in time. The bug should never have passed but had they put their hands up and said ' we're sorry, this will take a while to fix but it will be a *complete* fix', I personally would have waited, or run through with a new, importable shep in all three games while I waited to continue with my original character. A little honesty does go a long way.

So If they can't do it, they need to say it and stop wasting our time waiting for a "fixes" like the last one.

My Shepard doesn't import at all... I just want this patch to get rid of that stupid error so I can start playing with sliders...
Anyway, the "time window" is already started... by 3:00 pm (Italian Time) we should have our patch...

Only problem is my Shepard still isn't right haha. His formerly platinum buzz cut just imports to be brown, and there's no way to make it right. I guess they just took that hair color out of the game for some reason.
Oh well...

I'd love to know who "OK'd" that design decision.
Laughable.
Rockstar, Bethesda et al must be laughing their nuts off at this ineptitude.

While I get the BioWare bashing, don't elevate Bethesda PLEASE.
If there ever was a game more broken than ME3, it's goddman Skyrim.

How about making an imported me2 character (which was imported from me1) to me3 actually import only the data carried from me2 and import the faces from me1? And I mean an exact import, with the same haircuts and hair color. This me1 imported face would likely be unmodifiable with me3 cc because those options don't exist in the new cc.
Obviously this is not the perfect solution but seeing that me2
messes things a bit with codes etc. this solution would get rid of all
that by directly importing your face from me1.
The other option of importing would be the "aproximation" method this broken patch brings, which lets you tweak your imposter shepard.
