ME1 to ME2 imported perfectly. Why couldn't they have left the same system in? Why did they go and waste resources tinkering with something that wasn't broken?

But anyway, the very moment he showed up in the first cutscene I thought "Welcome back" and had goosebumps, so I guess I got lucky this time, heh.
Also doesn't look like a total goof-faced idiot while talking to Anderson anymore.. ah, what luck that my vacation is over..

Make sure you read the disclaimers and make backups if you want to give it a try.
Sorry to ask but in Modio 4 beta how do you inject a file it looks different from the guide you linked?
Ah, got me there. I'm a PC gamer, I have no idea how Modio works, sorry.
But maybe this post helps? It says to "drag and drop"...

Perhaps they are the nose and facial hair etc. You know, the things that weren't calculated by YAML.ThinkIntegral wrote...
I have noticed the patch does generate a slightly different code than the YAML method, but very slight.

I play on the 360 and I spent a LOT of time working through ME2 with a near perfect renegade male shep, over numerous play throughs. Default male shep face with no modifications. I kept the scars active never healing them in the med bay. He was looking totally bad ass (rhymes with bass) with his glowing red eyes and scars.
Now I download the patch, hoping beyond hope it would import, and G.D.! Totally different face, no scars, NOT MY SHEP! Come on! This is the default face for crying out loud. I can't have my cyborg like scars and eyes in ME3 now? Why?? Sure I can just choose the default face again, but then I don't have the scars and eyes I so dearly wanted and loved.
I've played ME3 through with another shep I made just for that game. I was really looking forward to having my "Dark Lord of the Shep" for my renegade play through. No such luck.
This blows...

I think it was more on cheek bones and the like. Not sure if it was the nose. It was like four or three differing letters
It looks slightly better in the cinematics from the YAML method, but again not by much. Still feels too different

Uhg... why didn't BiowEAr just tell us it wouldn't work for women! two epic fails on Femsheps. I will post pics later, partly because one of the femsheps might be salvagable, I will let you all be the judge and maybe supply some pointers. I think my Renegade biotic bit** has the right face, I think just her eyes and hair are wrong. Would like some opinions after I post. I will also try my second male shep.
Thread for people in the same boat, with some suggestions on how to try to fix: http://social.biowar.../index/11073023.

The face looks a little more like my ME1/2 Shep than simply generating an ME2 face code and copying it into ME3.
But the hair still doesn't look quite right. Are there any mod projects to add back the hairstyles from ME2 to ME3? My Shep has the upper bun hairstyle, and the ME3 version sits a lot lower on the head, reducing the size of my Shep's forehead.
I think I'm going to give the game a whirl with this face. There isn't much point waiting anymore. But I might replay the end of ME2 again. It's been so long, and I have so many bad vibes for Bioware right now that I think I need to reimmerse myself in the love I felt for ME2.

Basically, if they can't even get the default Femshep from ME 1/2 to port over, there's no hope for anyone else's custom face to work.
Extremely disappointed fan!

I am by no means an expert especially on the code but here are my observations on what changed.ThinkIntegral wrote...

The nose seems more extreme weither its blunt and wide or thin and sharp.
The skin color seem a little beige gone are the Asian fair skins and the really pale white ones.
The makeup seems to be safer like natural reds and pinks
The following features are softer cheek bones, jawline and brow depth. (ugly shepards now look slightly better).
Complexion is either rough skin, acne scars or smooth skin.
Female Shepards hair is usually off especially if you tampered with the forehead height and width.

And now I'm staring at a "Connecting to EA Servers" message.
For about 10 minutes straight now.

The other 2 required some minor tweaking one in the iris shade (went for a darker brown) and the other one (a femshep) I am going to lose the hair in a bun style for something else (the ME3 bun has too much hair) but apart from that i,m ok with what I got overall.
I feel for the people that did not get the results they where after but I dont know if bioware will put any more effort into this issue at all.

If I'm bioware or EA, I'm not gonna create any patch of probably not even a game at all because you people are just simple not worth it. Developers will create good games for us to enjoy and what do we do? COMPLAIN? damn. Not being a racist or something but that's just so american. All you know to do is complain. Stop whining and start playing. Heck if you don't like the game or bioware's patch then why the hell you're here? then stop playing mass effect and grab some other game like Dear Esther or something! geez... you people who always complain deserves nothing at all. Other companies out there will not create great games like mass effect anymore because of your attitude and will probably just create some stupid shallow games that you will never care yet will give them money. Hopeless
I'm guessing that either the patch worked for (which is great) or that the game worked outof the box (which is even better.) So an even better question is why are you here then? We as consumers have a legitimate grievance with BioWare, the game has a key feature that's broken and has yet to be properly fixed so that it works for everyone. Whereas you just seem to want to complain about people complaining.

This is beyond a joke, why take a day longer than the PC if it's only going to fail?!?!
Looks like I won't be playing it on Xbox again, unless they release another patch to fix this patch, which I doubt!
