Mine worked! (for reference, I accepted the import from ME1 to ME2, and now again to ME3. The only thing I lost was my awesome eye scar... but I actually lost that in the import from 1 to 2, and somehow gained a different one. I justified that in my personal canon by figuring Shep just got a new one, and Cerberus didn't include the old one it in the restoration process. I'm weird).

That's half the fun though, isn't it? My shepard had an eye scar from the Batarian slavers on (whereever it is for the Colonist background) (Scar from Lion King style), but I accepted that it wasn't imported because...guess what...he was rebuild from scratch by Cerberus. Easy.

If I'm bioware or EA, I'm not gonna create any patch of probably not even a game at all because you people are just simple not worth it. Developers will create good games for us to enjoy and what do we do? COMPLAIN? damn. Not being a racist or something but that's just so american. All you know to do is complain. Stop whining and start playing. Heck if you don't like the game or bioware's patch then why the hell you're here? then stop playing mass effect and grab some other game like Dear Esther or something! geez... you people who always complain deserves nothing at all. Other companies out there will not create great games like mass effect anymore because of your attitude and will probably just create some stupid shallow games that you will never care yet will give them money. Hopeless

What you fail to realize is, EA/BioWare do NOT make games for us, they make games for MONEY. You'd throw your career away because you feel the guy your flipping burgers for is not worthy of your burgers? No, you would not/will not quit your job at McD.

OT: I'm utterly amazed. Downloaded the patch and it worked, well enough, for all but hair color, which I quickly tweaked. While I'm happy I can finally play, it's still too little too late.
Also, what the hell happened to Ashley and Anderson? I didn't even recognize them they look so different. Also, Shepard looks very different at times/in some scenes.
Seriously, what did you guys do to this game? Thank god it's the last of the triology so you can't destroy it any further.

Yes, please post pictures so others get an idea of what you consider "worked" or "perfect", as these are subjective and don't really contain much information about how the import worked beyond the guess that you didn't get the error message.

The patch didn't really work for me either. In fact, the Shepard that I custom made to look close to what I had in the previous two games is closer than the one that the patch gives me. Looks like its back to the drawing board on the patch?[/quote

Strike this; I just loaded up my Shepard from ME2. I only had to fix the hair style and make the complexion a bit more pockmarked. So, pretty much on the money. :) My apologies Bioware, and well done. :)

Edit: If it matters, I'm X360. I'd be happy to take comparative SS, but I'm not really sure what the best means for doing that are on console.

What I've seen many people on consoles do is take pictures with a digital camera, then import and clip it on a PC.

I'm very envious of those of you who imported with no trouble.  Mine took heavy trial/error in the CC and modifiying in Gibbed save game editor.

Does Bioware have any kind of, like, ombudsman? A player advocate who's supposed to take the players' side, and communicate their concerns to management and devs?

Apparently not, since if there was such a person, they certainly would have said something in this thread...given that there have been face issues from day one that still haven't been acknowledged, and weren't fixed by the patch.

Well, it might be a good idea to have such a person.

At any rate, the patch made no difference at all to how my faces imported.

Has anybody seen Chris' new tweet? Good to know that he has his priorities straight

I get absolutely no change with the patch on 360. Mass Effect 3 still loads up one of the preset faces that has a kind of similar hairstyle to my previous Shepard, rather than actually importing anything even somewhat resembling my face.

This is exactly what has happened to me as well. I was waiting patiently (and quietly) for this patch and now it's not worked I will be trading the game in - absolutely gutted and so disappointed in Bioware.

I think Priestly is the closest we get to an ombudsman.

So, we're out of luck.

I'm glad some people are getting their Shepards back but I cannot help but feel afraid that BioWare will just consider this patch a complete success. I know they've tweeted as such but still.

Can only hope Woodbyte(is that his name I keep forgetting?) and/or some others can work some tech magic.

Is a face code attached to your Shepard in Mass Effect 2?  If so, use the Gibbed save editor to delete the face code and attempt to import the resulting save file.

Using any kind of save editor, goes against XBL T&C's.....

This kind of thing is always "at your own risk". However, it's not a cheat of any kind, just fixing a bug BioWare couldn't be bothered to fix back in the day. And since the resulting save is closer to "as intended" than what many have now, I don't see why there should be repercussions...

So basically this patch replaces my face with something random instead of giving me the error message...
I'm so happy:crying:

My game has become "Mass Edit" in order to get my Shepard back.  I never used any custom headmorphs in my previous games, they were made with the in game CC.  It should not have been necessary to use Gibbed in order to get back my original settings.

okay have now got the update on the xbox and although it imports a similar face it isn't the same, the biggest difference being that the hair is parted the wrong way - and there isn't a version with it the other way! What is that about?
I guess I'll have to get used to it but seems pretty poor to me and a very obvious miss.

I don't get how some people are getting this patch to work. 360s are pretty, shall we say, generic? Patch did nothing for me. Game chucks up preset number 1 in place of MY Shep. If there's any way bioware think they can let it lie like this, my total devoted loyalty for 4 years has been sorely misplaced.

I'm happy that the patch allowed my "Avatar" sheppard to finally be playable. I have to admit that my femshep still transfered as she did before. I'm guessing the hair option changed and she lost her scar.

The patch didn't work me either. My Shepard's whole face still looks wrong. The patch couldn't even get her hair right. She had the short bob hairstyle, the import gives her the longer hairstyle even though the bob still exists in the game! This is so disappointing. I had started a whole new ME1 playthrough hoping that by the time I got her to 3 I'd be able to import her correctly, but now that doesn't seem very likely.

Yeahidid the same thing. Waited over a year for this game. Wish I hadn't bothered. I won't play till they get it right. I'm sure they will keep at it - afterall it's an RPG it's what Bioware do. Customisation and cannon are key to the experience.

Cleared cache and deleted data and reloaded, now got to import screen but my shep still looks different. Lips, eye brows, nose, and eyes are not in the game sliders.

This is the end of the line for me.
