I checked the code, I wrote it down, typed in (& pasted it in) and got the very same face that the ME3 import offers me.
http://i1006.photobu...ultyImport1.png
Checked my other default BroShep, and somehow he's face can be imported properly... I know, not a big deal, but somehow the game can import the exact same face perfectly once, but sometimes it can't - as in this poor fella's case. (Glad I chose Mark Vanderloo face twice...)
What the heck? How did it not recognize Sheploo?
Maybe clicked on Customize and then changed their mind?

Customise in which game, ME2 or 3? I tried importing my ME1 character into 2 fresh and then straight to 3 making sure I didn't click customise, but that didn't help me at all. Still detected incorrect code (me code and 3 are same but displayed imported shep is default).

I haven't got the slightest idea, lol. I had Sheploo face from ME1 and never even tried to customize it, as far as I recall. Then all of a sudden, I get Mr Chubby Face in ME3 import. However, as I mentioned in my above post, the other Sheploo face character of mine imports perfectly. Really weird.

Those are both preset faces. I got each of those EXACTLY for two of my male and female imports. Although WTF on the Sheploo import? You think the program would recognize it's original face, lol. Hey, at least you can just choose "default" again for that one.

Simple test: Does your squad screen in ME2 display an identity code?

Chubbie has been "cutified", too. XD

I am playing now, and in-game I do recognize my femShep from before. I can confirm that there are "new" (=from before) face options available with this patch that were not there before: my femShep's nose is back! I did however have to tweak slightly after import: hair color, eyebrow color and iris color I changed, I also changed mouth shape one tick on the slider. This was 2 minutes work though: overall structure (jawline, chin, nose, cheekbones) was correct.
What is really bad imho, is that the CC is the worst possible place to look at her, I do not recognize her there. In the first part of the game the lighting is awful and I recognize her, but barely (best scenes are in softer light, at the beginning there is an explosion and you see her on the ground with firelight on her face, that was a very recognizable face indeed). Gets better further on in game. I will post a picture if I can take a snap later on, and if people are interested (might be frustrating if your shep did not improve with this patch).

Well i can say on XBOX 360 if you imported form ME1 to 2 without editing it works awesome, If you tweaked in 2 you are screwed...2 of my Shepards are pretty much near perfect, but the one I tweaked in ME2 looks like Roseanne...
Sorry but thats incorrect. I imported from 1-2-3 no tweaks and it looks nothing like correct. even after the patch

Oh man, I'm at a point now where all I can do is laugh. Default Shepard not importing correctly is just the icing on the cake. This is a joke.
This. It proves how broken it still is lol.

I do think that if you have a custom Shepard imported from ME1 to ME2 and have a face code displayed in ME2, that's the problem. Too bad that in ME2 you have to go through the intro before getting to the CC, but it would be interesting nonetheless if those codes, if actually entered in ME2, really represent your custom face.
If your are talking about what I think, I tried that. The code my ME2 character displays in Squad panel and at the beginning of new game import from me1 is the same as the code displayed in ME3. And that face is Not the same one as in ME2 and 1.

Bioware needs to sit down & take a serious look at the character creator. They need to make changes so the textures & meshes match ME1 & ME2.
This is like the first thing that should have been done on the testing checklist.

Speak for yourself. Both my unaltered Shepards look absolutely nothing like they did.
