Well, since it doesn't look like they are going to respond. Can anyone give me a quick rundown of the gibbed method? That's the one were you can sort of import your correct eye colours etc., right?
And can you change your skin colour too? It looks like play-doh.

Skin color change is easier in the CC, still if you not like any of the skin or eye colors in there. You are on a PC or on the XBox?

I'm on PC.
EDIT: And I just checked the skin tones, they all look off.

Ok. simplified thinks.
Gibbet ME3 Save editor: http://svn.gib.me/bu...ffect3/?C=M;O=D
Click: "Sort by Last Modified to easily find it" first, you only need the save editor.
(saveedit-r82_b104.zip) unzip it, no need to install it. Just double-click the exe

@Benny8484, I'd post a picture of my Shepard if I could, but I'm at work, and even when I get home, I have no decent way of taking a photo (other than my phone's camera) and no real desire to dig ME2 out. He looks and "feels" like my Shepard; that's really all I'm interested in.

As for the Renegade scars, isn't it the same as any sequel that resets your character's abilities? It doesn't make sense as to why you'd "forget" your powers either, but it's a necessary artifice for the sake of balance and game design. In-universe, the scars were largely affected by Shepard's emotional state, and if he/she's been out of action for months on end, away from the stress of combat and command, it makes sense they'd fade. Maybe?

I am glad to hear that the patch was able to restore your shepard.  Thats great news.  I really hope in time we can all share that feeling.  As far as the scars are concerned, I guess your explanation could be a possibility.  I won't rule that out.  I just think it is much more likely that if you persued a renegade career and had very very serious/visible scars, they likely would not dissapear in a matter of months especially after having been grounded, removed from the Normandy, and more or less had your status removed by the Alliance.  A renegade shepard would likely be very "upset" (for lack of a better word) by this series of events after everything he/she had done for the alliance/galaxy.

This page: http://masseffect2fa...torial=saveEdit
has the best Manuel for the Editor, it is for the ME2 edition, still about every option is in the ME3 editor as well.
IMPORTANT! Make a back up of your save games before you tray anything. Don't override a Save Game, create a new one.

Furthermore, you should check your Shep in game, the CC's lighting is bad, and there, AFTER the intro. You can import and export Head morph's easily, to any Save game you have, with the editor.

And now I'm so tired that I see letters double. If you have further questions feel free to PM me or post them her.

I think I found it, but I guess it only works with a save after the CC? Haven't played yet.

Thank you, I think I will be able to get further from here.

Yes, only with the first in game save. Have fun.

My Shep imported with the dumb default hair (which was easily remedied), but otherwise the face was intact. I have to say the previous poster is correct and the lighting (and angle) of the CC is misleading. I thought it had f***ed up the import again until I turned the face a few times, tweaked the hair AND eyebrow styles AND colours. In game the eyebrows still look a little off but otherwise my pretty distinctive Shep is more or less rescued.

Thanks for that Bioware. I got to the mission with Grunt with wrongshep (having encountered the Hanar bug) and now I've just quit and restarted.

Now PLEASE add the old hairstyles to the CC for other players to import their characters before you add any more Elcor/Hanar/Volus to MP...

The Patch did what it was supposed to do, fixing the import error, the problems still accruing are different.

Wrong.

1.) Players should not have to revert to a method (Modio & Gibbed) that violates Microsoft's TOS to make an official patch do what it's supposed to do.

I agree, they shouldn't, still my statement is not wrong, the fix works the problems now are different.

LOL. Aren't you a troll doll.

The fix doesn't work if it doesn't fix the problem it was usppoed to fix. It was supposed to fix the import issue and failed to take into consideration a known bug in ME2. The problems now were entirely predictable. It's not like they suddenly popped up after the patch.

Next time your car breaks down, make sure to pay the garage even if you still have to walk home after they 'fixed' it and it still doesn't work because they failed to fix something else 6 months ago.

Besides, your argument that the patch works doesn't help, because the moderators don't acknowledge the problems as different and keep sending us here. If you say here that the patch works and we have nowhere else to go to say that it doesn't, the problems that still exist won't get fixed.

if your game locks up after the patch and crashes try this it worked for my friend last night you will lose all your game patches but they are easy to get back

Here is a Temp Fix(Only works about 50% of the time) until BioWare learns how to Create a Proper Title Update:

- clear cache
- start the game, deny update
- change the settings back to auto logon
- logon and accept patch

or Play offline. The issue is with EA Servers.

Outside of the CC my Shepard looks pretty good. Skin colour is a lot better, and the features are all there. Only the eye colour and hair colour are off, but those can at least be edited by gibbed.

Still something I shouldn't have to do, and very annoying I can't play through the first cutscene without my Shep.
And of course it's still very borked for a lot of FemSheps.

The problems are not different.  This was reported over a month ago.  Take a look at the date on this thread.  They have only half resolved the problem, but it is still ME1 faces not being imported in the game.

They acknowledged that ME1 faces generate an error message, but they never acknowledged whether it would be the correct import.

I am very envious of those who were able to import and are happy with the match. Some of us are still awaiting resolution. I had to resort to fixing it myself, but I can still only get 90% match because they changed the eyes.

So can anyone help me out here - looking to play with my sheps old face on 360. Patch hasnt worked at all. I never had an error code, just an incredibly 'off' looking import pre and post. I heard there is a method for fixing the face manually by importing to PC and back? Any help or guidance muchly appreciated as I'm not sure how to do it or where that thread is anymore ^^

Yeah, I figured :) But well..... shall we say I'm desperate enough to risk my Ecksbawks and try if you have an inkling as to the method (or links). Got a usb drive clutched inhand :P Sorry to beg for handholding but I'm no expert myself!

Do you get one of those pre-set custom faces? Because it could be you still have a face code attached to your save file that's wrong. You can delete it using the gibbed save editor for ME2. I think there are instructions here: http://social.biowar...8/index/2277020

EDIT: It doesn't say were you can find the face code... In the editor, load up your save, go to the "Raw" tab, under "2. Squad" open "Player" by clicking on it, and there should be a row called "Face Code", just delete the one on the right.

Just remember to back up.

ME2 Code- 743. Q9G. M17. F8A. JDQ. 62Q. 1DA. 711. 966. 413. 6G6. 177

This looks like the default femShep code for ME2. Did you import an ME1 save, and then go to customize screen, then back to originally imported face on the Lazarus Project screen?

Thanks for your reply. You are right about the code- I use the original default FemShep from ME1/2. To the best of my knowledge I just hit accept right away and did not go to the customise screen, but I cannot be sure of this. There is, however, no identity code for my Shepard in the Squad screen of ME2, which I took to mean that I didn't hit customise. I only know the code because on another save file (unrelated to the one I'm trying to import) I did go to the customise screen and went back without changing anything, and so the code was generated for my FemShep (same face) on that playthrough.

From what I've been reading, the next step is probably to use ME2's Gibbed save file editor to delete the "invalid" facecode, if indeed one was generated? Is there anything you might be able to suggest to do if there isn't a wrong facecode to remove?

I recognised that code. Maybe this is helpful? The code my character wrongly imported with differs oly by 2 digits from yours =/

YUP, totally the same person. Thank you, Bioware, for making me realize my black Shepard should have been an almost-entirely different looking white guy.
