That's the same face it tries to give my Shepard (pre and post patch).  I'll add, my Shepard looks nothing like your custom Shepard.  I nicknamed mine the blonde gorilla, I started out making the ugliest cromagnun looking SOB I could.  I miss the poor ugly basta'd.  :(

Great fix Bioware...

Does your Shepard have a face code in Mass Effect 2?

I'm still getting one of the default faces, this is stupid.

QuetzaDrake I'm almost certain your problem can be fixed (at least as much as the limitations of the import system will allow) by using the Gibbed facecode deletion method some people have mentioned in this thread. I don't know how it works exactly (I didn't modify my Shepard in ME2) but someone who knows more can point you in the right direction.

Just like to point out (as I've seen this stated a few times) that things like this are often picked up during testing but they would have decided against 'fixing' it for some reason or another (time, effort required, perceived impact vs. number likely to be effected etc.).

It is unfair to always blame the QA team, when the ultimate decision to actually fix the things they find is made at a higher level.

Chances are that they needed this new face system for some mega-important reason. Otherwise, why not use ME2s system? There are numerous NPCs in ME3 that look completely different, I doubt this was a deliberate decision; more working within the limitations of the new system as best they could. Sort of like what we're all having to do now.

I'd be very interested to read exactly why they decided to change things so much at the Nth hour. The more info we have, the more we are likely to understand (and perhaps forgive). As it stands, it appears to have been done on a whim, as I can't see any reason why assets would be deliberately removed from the CC. Memory issues on consoles?

Mine was a bit better. I tweaked it a little bit, and then I just started playing. In game the character looked much more like my orginal femshep, than in the CC. Maybe I will post pictures later. It's ****ty though that the renegade scars don't flow over, that's kinda weird.

Believe me, I am still outraged about this, but I figured that this was teh best we could get and just start playing this freaking game!

Is a face code attached to your Mass Effect 2 save file?

I should point out here that Chris mentioned on Twitter that he's had a family situation. It's probably affected his availability and concentration, so I'm hopeful that he'll be back in force when it's sorted out.

Most likely. I'll have to work out the gibbed process, even if that works it's rediculous that people have to go through all of that effort for something Bioware apparently spent a month fixing.

BioWare developers evidently assumed that save games with an attached face code were "working" because a face would import without error.  That incorrect faces often imported, due to erroneously attached face codes, and that even legitimate face codes often produced substantially different faces between games was not a concern.

Guess what guys, this game has WAY more glitches and stupidity than just the face import issue. 700 words worth of notes so far lol.

Ugh. Downloaded Gibbed's Save Editor without any problem, and I can confirm there is no invalid facecode to delete, but my ME1 face simply does not import correctly- it's not one of the presets (checked on a new game and the face isn't there), but it's mangled out of all recognition. Best thing to do will probably be to tweak my ME2 code to fit as best I can and live with that.

Annoying as this is, it's made even worse for me in that if they hadn't chosen to have that blasted beauty contest to redesign the old default FemShep, I could have just chosen the default face and all would be well. I realise this is a somewhat petty gripe when so many people's beloved custom Sheps are similarly scarred, but still...

Please do tackle those issues.  When they fix this one, I may join you.  In my case, it was like expecting to see Sigourney Weaver for the final installment and she's been replaced with Selena Gomez.  I can't take it seriously.

How are you able to adjust a Mass Effect 2 code if no code is associated with your save file?

I know the code for this FemShep from another playthrough where I did go to the customise screen (without changing anything) and then clicking accept. The Shep I'm trying to import now has the same face, but is from a playthrough where I did not go to the customise screen. Hence, no code is associated with this save file, but I know the code that would be associated with it if there were one.

Nothing changes. Now what?
When will be possible to play the game I pay for, the right way?

No bioware. Only Bethesda can do a patch to fix a fail patch. You can't, because you take months to update them. This was a big fail.

So yeah this patch changed absolutely nothing for me regarding the face importer, still doesn't work (Xbox 360). Didn't read the whole thread but I gather I'm not the only one?

Yep. You are not alone...
The patch was a lie.

You mean “doesn't work” as in “imports, but the result is wrong”, right? In that case, no, you're definitely not alone.

Wow. Bethesda just said it will make Skyrim "BETTER WITH KINECT".
Meanwhile, Bioware CAN say: "WORST WITH OR WITHOUT KINECT".

the face imports, but it imported last time too. just the face that imports looks nothing like my shepard at all. I was lucky I had pictures to help reconstruct the face and got everything back close enough to normal manually, but even with the patch the imported face looks just the same as it did-pre patch. and that look is wrong (my black shepard becomes a white girl with grey eyebrows?).
