Yeah this fix doesn't work cause you dumbasses took out CC options. No way in hell am I buying this game until you fix it.

This is what I get using the fan made fix:

The game is UNPLAYABLE.

Yup. its pretty much IMPOSSIBLE to make your ME3 character look like your ME2 one.. I have a feeling we may need to wait for fan made mods that'll let us use ME2 assets in ME3....

... How could they think this was acceptable?  ME2 did it right on ME1 imports.. to feck it up on the final game is mental.

Thanks for finally answering our pleas. I wish you guys luck in a speedy resolution to this problem and will be eagerly waiting for a patch to continue Shepard's galactic fight.

I'm confused myself. I have one save file from ME2 on my hard drive (deleted all the older ones, kept the highest level shepard). I have never done cloud save or anything...used the default face at the beginning of ME2, but when I go to import me2 character and it searches for characters it finds nothing. Is this issue being looked at because after having spent $160+ dollars on all these games and dlc...I'm gonna be pretty upset if I can't import my character.

I'm on xbox 360 btw.

@Bioware - thanks for looking into it.  I didn't know how attached I was to *my* Shepard until he wasn't there.

I think my 'From Memory' Shep is a close approximation though...

Hope it is an easy fix...good luck!

While you're working on faces... can't you please add default Shep to the preset choices so that we can just tweak some things?

Or most importantly, add default femShep's new hairstyle to the hair choices for custom femSheps? I really want my import to change her hair but it's not available.

It looks... fine? Seriously, what's wrong with it? Only thing is her hair is slightly lighter but that's hardly game breaking. No, that would be the very limited dialog options... but that's off-topic.

This doesn't fix the actual issue though. There are color/features missing from ME2 faces when they get moved to ME3.

This.  I figured out the code to import my ME2 Shepard, but she still looks off.  No amount of tweaking makes her look like she did in ME2.  Even if there's a fix to import the character easier, how does it change the fact that ME3 still doesn't render their face correctly?

Edit:  Adding my Shepard from ME3/ME2 here too for comparison.

This. /thread

It looks like bioware blocked the ability to use anything that the default sheps use, there by breaking the shep faces of everyone who used the "default shep" preset in ME2 then tweaked a few things.

You better hurry the **** up. I don't want to wait another two weeks for this to be fixed. How could this even happen? Wish Bioware would get there **** together BEFORE they release a game.

It's close, but it's still awful in-game and looks completely different from the Shep I had since ME1. I want to carry MY Shep through the whole trilogy, not some mongloid.  Sorry it's too much to ask for a working feature from ME2 be in ME3.

Nice to see an address to the issue with the PC. I hope there is a fix coming for the 360

If you import a face from ME1 into ME2 but don't change it, accepting it exactly as it is, then you wont get a face-code.

You'll either have to remake the face in ME2, or use the fan made 'fix' in order to get a face-code.

Thank god, this bug has been bugging me for quite a while now. Even though I was able to get the face almost the same, the hair style was different from ME1 CC.

Personally I consider hair the least important thing. If I see my friend walk in the door with a very different hairstyle, I'll say "Hey, you changed your hair!" If I see my friend walk through the door with a different-shaped head, eyes, and nose, well...

Well you got me there, and yes that would be funny.Posted Image

I too think the only thing really different is the hair (some of the hair styles were changed a bit). The darker tone is just the light used in the game face creator screen.

edit: i'm also pretty sure that if you recreated your shepard in me2 (like you did), finished the game with it and loaded it in me3 it would have imported the same way as it turned out.

Well it's approximate, but you can definitely tell the difference.  I'll use this example again: many people say I look a lot like the actor Robert Pattinson (yes, the Twilight guy), but if I walked up to someone and said "Hi, I'm the actor Robert Pattinson," they'd laugh at me.  You can always tell a celebrity look-alike from a celebrity.  I don't think "kind of looks like" is good enough of a fix.

This won't matter.  I imported an ME1 Shep then using pixel comparison of screenshots rebuilt her in the ME2 CC so I could get a code (this was on xbox so no utils--very time consuming).  The resulting code when run through the ME3 CC as it exists in demo, (which apparently == release) shows no better results than the screenshots posted above.

@Bioware
I couldn't import my face code on the PS3 so the ME1 theory may not be entirely correct. My character is from a NG+ run through though, so perhaps any game that imported a face code be it from 1 or 2. Anyway, I wrote all my characters face codes down a week ago so I could see what they looked like in the demo, so just an extra few minutes of code entering and I was good.

Did the exact same thing.

How big are the chances that my ME1 Shepard look the same in ME3, without using mods and such?
Am I completely screwed? Or does it work for some?

Never have I been more thankful that a game comes out later in the UK.

Hopefully by the 9th Bioware will have this sorted.

I'v been playing around with the workaround in the demo for a while. My shep looks pretty damn close to his old self now. Still something off but It seems thats just the new animations etc interacting with the face.

Some people are reporting success with a combination of the facial code and tweaking with close comparison to a photo of the original or  a good memory.  I think it depends how many features your Shepard has that aren't available in ME3. One guy posted a photo on this thread http://social.biowar...dex/9513640/134 that showed a pretty good recreation. I, however, found it impossible to make some of my Shepards look even close to the same.  You'll just have to try it out.
