I though that I was the only one with the problem.

Can I change the face although I already started the game??

Well, I used the Mass Effect Tools site to get my face code from ME2. Not even close in ME3.....my Shep goes from being a pasty faced white guy to being a bald black guy with blond eyebrows.... Ummm, yeah. Safe to say that was a FAIL.....lol

What angers me is the thinking of the Game-makers, i mean this proves how much the even thought of us fans that has been supporting the game since the first one launched, i mean how could this slip by, i think they rushed all these graphical "improvments" to far. Again this proves that we fans did not have a place in their minds when game was created, but we should've forseen something like this, i mean they are working for greedy EA.

Just tried to play for an hour - and to say I'm heartbroken is an understatement. The fact that we can't import our Shepard appearance, and now half the options to recreate him in the same way have been removed, I can't get the character to look anything like he should. Imagine a movie or TV series where the main actor is changed half way through - the story, plot and characters remain the same, but the connection is gone.

I watched/played the opening scene and a bit after, and all I could think was 'I dont actually care about this guy'. It was like playing with someone else's character, and not the one I've connected to after nearly 90 hours of the series. So disappointing that I really don't want to play the single player like this.

Ok I found a fix for the file not actually showing up at all. it seems Bioware yet again dropped the ball after the fiasco with me2 not recognizing saves if it was last saved ona different console. Same damn thing with this rush job. I put my USB into my other console and loaded up the game, and lo and behold, there is my save file. How could they let this happen a second time? So for anyone that has multiple consoles and cannot load their save file at all, try it in the other consoles in case you last played it on another one.

I have to say I blame Bioware for this, as it was a known issue with ME 2 and you would think they would make sure it would not happen again.

I'll play the game. I'll probably enjoy it. The face issue will prevent me from playing the game multiple times with all my previous shepards. I bought this game specifically on Xbox for that reason too. I had friends getting this game on PS3 that I won't be able to play with, and now I regret getting this on 360.

My launch experience with this game and DAII have soured me on buying Bioware games new. I'll wait to buy their games like I do Bethesdas.

I suggest free DLC (not From the Ashes but the first after that) should be FREE for everyone that can prove here by making a screen, that they had a problem with the face. Common, we cannot play becouse we lived with the character for 2 games already and now what? This is below the belt...

I did the exact same thing. I don't want to know anything else about the story until I can start it with my Shepherd's face (which is evidently impossible to recreate).

You know, I think Bioware expected this to happen. Just look at their little draconian rule change in this forum that says no abuse can be hurled at Bioware staff DESPITE they putting themselves in the line of fire. Clearly Bioware can't take it on the chin nor any criticism.

Here's an idea Bioware. Spend less effort making release day DLC and less time and money making far too many trailers for a game that ended up on release bugged as all hell and put said time and money into the game and guess what?? This might be a revelation to you guys but people will love you once again and talk up your products. You really screwed the pooch as they say on this and your cowardly silence is not managing any customer expectation whatsoever.

And speaking of which, 61 pages and not a peep from Bioware or Chris Priestly. Man what customer service!! But then they have our money, they can do what they want now. Hey Bioware, you win this round but you can make a sure bet that your future games will suffer in buy rates and sadly you brought it on yourselves and therefore deserve it.

In light of Chris's notable silence in this thread, I will say what he and Bioware are thinking:

"All your money are belong to us." :P

I was disappointed at my import failing, but after doing the manual code retrieval and then tweaking for a solid hour, I was fairly happy with the result. Naturally, it does not look completely same, but that was to be expected - nothing else looks the same either.
After some hours of play it stopped bothering me. It's just the new graphics, don't think anything can be done about it. Opinions may vary, but the graphics are damn good in my opinion, so I'll suck it up.

The game is great, as well. Good luck to all, whether waiting or battling with the creator.

I just wish they would let us know if a patch is possible. I'm willing to wait, but if I can't import, I'll just try to fake it and start playing now.

I just hope the issue becomes more public so that their sales suffer noticeably until it gets fixed... since money is all that matters to them.

Well I went back on the statement and am playing. After about 3 hours I managed to recreate my femshep about as good as she can be in ME3, not bad but nowhere near the awful mess the ME2 code got me.

As others have said I'm not too confident in the fix for this, even if we can import it seems like it'd take more work than BioWare would be allowed to import the faces as they were. I'm assuming the best we can hope for is ME3 will be patched to import the ME2 face code from a save and we'll still be stuck screwing around in CC for ages if our own Shep didn't import right.
