This sucks. I was looking forward to this for a year and now I have to wait to play even though I have the game. I can't just overlook my Shep having a different face. I'd have to constantly tell myself he got some sort of facial reconstructive surgery between games each time I saw his face. That would be a huge distraction that would detract from the game-experience. Please, for the love of God, fix this soon. :crying:

They said you can import your Charakter, they said you can import your Charakter with the nice Scarface...but the reality..-no i want my money back...you can´t sell Lobsters, take the money, and what the people finally get are some shrimps

Well said, my friend. I totally agree with you.

Add me to the list of disgruntled customers. You'd think this is the first thing they'd test. Now I have a game that I want to play but won't because they erased my face.

I also stayed up for the midnight UK launch and sadly being unable to play as my Femshep (simply the old default, nothing fancy) is making it pretty tough to get into the game right now.

Completely impossible to recreate her it seems, as they have removed both her hair style and colour.

Maybe I'll just play as boring ol' Broshep. He never seems to change. :(

My statement wasn't to say that I don't care about other players and only my concerns matter. My statement was, especially at different intervals in the pair of threads dealing with this issue, there are people who received almost 1 to 1 approximations of their characters and act like it isn't the same thing at all. I'm not going to be overtly critical of them, though, because my critical eye for own character is completely skewed after so many hours spent with her that I don't have any idea if I have her or if I don't.

My issue really has to do with the eyes. Skin tones, I think with the more depressed color scheme, make the pales TOO pale. Big eyes and bushy eyebrows giving off a horse vibe. I've seen quite a few players get it...they got their characters, and that's great, but that is a strong minority.

I don't see why a head morph fix from one game to another would be hard. Again, the production value for the core consumer isn't going to be destroyed, our immersion broken. ME2 was a fantastic game with fantastic graphics. So drain it of color to fit with wartime motifs, uprez things a bit, and just use that graphical framework. Hell...I think most of that framework is already there...you just have to give the players access to it. ME2 did such a great job of importing a character's face...why did it become an issue now?

They revamped their facial animation system. I can tell you from experience, the bones in the old animation skeletons for ME1 and ME2 faces will not be compatible with all the new animations Shepard's face performs throughout the dialogue.

Not that I disagree with you - this was poorly handled, and I can't stress enough how important the psychological experience is for a lot of people to see their Shepard instead of a fascimile. But the facts are there; it's simply not an easy fix.

Unless it is, in which case I would just love for Bioware to prove me wrong and give us an awesome patch very soon that lets me play my Shepard as I know and love her.

I just want a statement from bioware. Yes we can fix it. No, we can't and you'll have to do your best and make another Shepard. Its been 2 business days since launch. With facebook, Twitter, the internet in general, I can't for the life of me understand why we're still in the dark on this

Its pretty obvious.   They just dont give a S**T.  Its only their loyal customers that have supported the series since the begining.

I'm hoping that isn't the case. I'm going to wait a few days and reserve judgement. However, if this isn't resolved, I am never pre-ordering a Bioware game again. I have a suspicion that EA has something to do with this sudden drop in quality.

My Shep is not my Shep.
I. Am. Pissed.
Seriously, this is kind of a big deal...
I will echo what has been said repeatedly, because it deserves to be said. How did they not catch this? Seriously. Did they think we wouldn't be a little upset?
And what the hell is up with the new face creator, I'm not impressed. The noses all look fat and misshapen...
*takes deep breath*
Grrrr.... for now I'mma take a picture of my ME2 Shep for comparison and do my best to muddle through until they fix this... which they'd better do...
First Dragon Age 2 and now this... I'm losing patience with Bioware. I can only hope the rest of the game is less infuriating.

Maybe I'm overreacting, but I would have hoped that after paying for the Collector's Edition that I would have been at least able to start the damn game before running into such an annoying glitch...

I shall try for this to not turn into the rage I'm feeling atm. I personally got onto the bandwagon late, right after me2 and even played me2 first. Only after playing me1 (and getting over the graphics quality difference) did I truly appreciate what a let down me2 was. The only thing they improved was the combat (which is fine even though it is secondary to me), and the graphics. The storyline and the playable area showed evidence of being rushed. Okay, I understand deadlines, plus the LOTSB was a very fun dlc.

But now, when they could have given ppl a warning or better yet, they could have showed us that they really understood the words Hudson was saying about how it was "our" shep and our choices matter, rather than it just being a shallow sales pitch, and given the community the information needed to access the cc and come up with a community solution proactively rather than retroactively.

I understand it was an expense to them to try to make a seamless import, but it could have been a win-win situation if they had merely acknowledged the shortcoming, let ppl know that as a business they could not justify it, but that they recognised the importance to the fan base and released the information necessary for us to work on the problem to our own satisfaction.

If the gameplay also turns out to be as disappointing as I now expect it to be, I shall consider that the trilogy ended at me1. These last two games seem to have nothing in common with the heart of the first one except the names.

It's pretty clear that since EA took over there has been a definite shift from catering to the niche gamer which was BioWare's forte, to appeal to the generic three fingered shooter troglodyte type faceless mass player that EA/Activision/McDonalds so know and love.

They push back the release date and instead of ensuring the entire trilogy single player experience is a flawless, glitchless experience, they ignore whatever issues that come up and waste time developing other rather pointless and unneccessary components to the franchise. Multiplayer, kinect, launch day DLC.

And their oldest fanbase? Guys who stuck with them since KOTOR or even older? What about those people?

They get screwed. They get screwed without even the courtesy of being addressed with something other than a vague "oh yeah we are kinda working in it. It'll be ready er, sometime. Thanks for the money, you saps".

Meanwhile on twitter they talk space balloon launches and YouTube clips and other pointless rubbish that will appeal to the same people attracted by silver paper and hummingbirds.

At least I got kind of an acknowledgement from Chris on Twitter. Casey? He must be having golfing games these days with Bobby Kotick.

Last Bioware product I ever buy. That's for sure.

I don't know what's going on with Bioware going on to 4 day sins the release of the game and all we have is silence really unlike them. this really stings.

I am going to get flamed for this, but I have faith it fixable, if a simple work around fixes it, it patchable, it just finding the bit of code causing the problem.

The noses have always been crap, IMO.

Was hoping they'd fix that, but there are more pressing issues than new noses unfortunately.

Got to say, I'm surprised... that tool people have been linking to DOES actually work... more or less. I managed to salvage my maleShep, and, with some tweaking... he might not be exact, but it's close enough it looks like the same character to me. ...unlike my femShep. HER, well... I really don't think anything can be done there without the patch. I tried, and it almost looked like her... until I actually started the game; it just wasn't my character.

...I guess the point I'm trying to make here is, if you have a male character, it may be worth it to give that workaround a try. It's still COMPLETELY ridiculous that Bioware dropped the ball so horribly that we have to go through this, and I won't even attempt a femShep again until the fix... but I managed a character I'm okay with playing for now, at least.

Yay! The script at http://masseffecttoo...k.org/index.php works great! Took me a bit to figure out the output from my ME2 save when uploaded was actually the tics on the customization screen, once I did that wallah!! I thought it created a file to drop in ME3. Nope you just create it with the output from your ME2 save game upload.

Can anyone help me with a DECENT code for a replacement Femshep?!? I had an almost default Femshep for my paragon infiltrator in ME and ME2 and the default is very difficult to replicate in ME3. PLEASE help... I have a cookie!
:(
edit: I have tried the couple codes on this thread, the head's not right. The shape of the jaw or skull? I dunno...

I hate also that my experience is not only being ruined by the fact that my femshep doesn't look like her on the import but that I'm replaying the first five minutes of ME3 over and over just trying to tweak the look.

Utterly lame.

I thought this game was supposed to be personal!?!? How can it be as emotional if the face you used for 2 games gets changed into a disgusting Frankenstein version?!?!?

http://masseffecttools.99k.org site is not working properly for me. Whenever I upload my morphhead.yaml to the upload page or copy/paste the entire code from NotePad to the MaleManual page, the page doesn't respond/give me results. Don't know if it's just extremely high traffic on the site or if I'm doing something wrong, but if someone could give me some insight, I'd really appreciate it.

I bought the Collector's Edition as well. I have been looking forward to this game for so long now. I pre-ordered it as soon as it was announced on Amazon. Now, after all the waiting and anticipation, I can't even play the game. This is how my loyalty as a customer is rewarded? I am not happy at all.
