Well I got a pretty good result out of using the temporary fix(on the Demo). One of my mansheps:
ME1
ME2
ME3
Dudesheps seem to come out better than femsheps. The faces are longer in ME3 for some reason..kinda weird but whatever.
He kind of goes from being a hard-looking man to someone you might see on Friends.

Eh, maybe. Actually it looks like thats probably the mouth, it looks more happy than previously. Have to change that.

Really? Because the eyes from the ME3 one (on the left) really bother me. Like she's going to drill a hole into you by staring at you. I also think it's weird that it looks like she got younger. I don't think she looks bad, but it's kind of besides the point -- which is that she's not my Shepard. She's like ImposterShep. It's almost right, but different enough to be very jarring. I should be focusing on the story but in any cut scene I just keep thinking "That's not my Ava!!"
That's what I really noticed about my femshep imports that converted: the eyes and the lips. I had one paragon femshep who had very friendly eyes, and lips that were almost upturned into a subtle smile, but any eyes and/or lips I put on her in the ME3 customization screen made her look really serious or scary. That really sucks because even those really subtle things say monumental amounts about her character.

One would think that the next game should improve or mantain the graphics level, but seeing my ME2 face vs ME3....

I remember reading that the reason for the longer faces has to do with the new facial animations or something. Yet my biggest complain its the eyes.... all of them look off.
NOTE: this is the result I got with the demo, but after seeing some youtube videos looks like the graphics are the same.
Edit: fixed link.

Every ME3 imported face I have seen on these forums looks wrong in at least a couple of respects - it's like the person who actually built the ME3 face creator themselves had to start from scratch and remake each possible face option, with only partial success.
This should have been checkbox number one on the ME3 game creation checklist. Item 1 - "can players import their personal Commander Shepard faces?" Y/N.
I think 90% of people on these forums would gladly trade in the entire multiplayer aspect of the game in exchange for a working ME1 face import function.

Actually what I find most amazing is when you look back at Me1 to ME2 comparisons the transition is just done so completely right. ME2 characters look exactly like a more advanced but still identically-proportioned version of their ME1 counterparts.

As others have said, even with the fix things still look off.

to be fair, the creation screen and squad screen makes it all look like crap. like, it looks like SWTOR but in game it looks a lot better

Yeah. I made mine look as close as I could on the creation screen (passable at least, I thought) and then when I got into the game I was pleasantly surprised to see the Shepard I came to know and love on screen! The creation screen does not look the same as in game.
Edit: I'd post a pic to show mine through the trilogy if I knew how. *sigh* But all 3 look quite alike despite the model changes through each game.

They could be brothers, but they are not the same....

After some failed attempts of recreating my Shepard(2 playthroughs ME1 and 2 playthroughs in ME2), I think this is the most close as I can get with the current character creation. The reason a possible patch/fix/workaround is going to take weeks is because I (as a programmer) think they have completely overhauled the CC in ME3. As you can see in the picture illustrated above, the bone structures of the face and general skin complexity is way lower than in ME2. Also there are less option available to change.
If they want to reverse the CC back to the CC of ME2(Which will be HUGE fix), they also are going to change the characters which have been created with the CC of ME3, which in turn will upset new players to the series.
And that is not even the biggest problem, as I have seen some characters in some movies on youtube who have returned in this sequel and they look entirely different aswell. So it almost seems impossible for Bioware to fix.
