And this is such a classic example of bad business. Create launch DLC, claiming that the game is finished (clearly an outright lie), looking over such a tremendous bug just to squeeze all the money they can out of us. Enjoy your dirty profits Bioware and EA, im not playing this game until YOU fix the problem, and I wont forget this come your future products, Integrity is more important than a little extra money.

"Game Breaking" glitches and errors must never be easily forgiven. An unknown number of their fans are now waiting. Waiting to either finally play the story line at all or to finally play with the choices that took tens of hours to complete for each character they made. I don't think anyone who shelled out 60 bucks for a product that slaps them in the untransportable face should feel anything less than utter disappointment. If they are scrambling to fix these issues then Godspeed to them... Everyday I don't get to play MY Shepard is another second guess against any further business with them.

What's that Aria said in ME2 about it could be anyone or anything wearing Shepards face?

Well whatever that was walked off with his face.

I’m in the same boat. Had to wait ’till yesterday to get the game, but I’ve been hearing about this issue for a week. The result is that I’ve only been playing multiplayer now. Galactic Readiness is 100%, Reapers won’t know what hit them when I finally start the game .

You obviously spend to much time picking one word apart and I'm sure you could of figured out what I meant. This game is so far off from the original and the fact that BioWare deliberaty looked over this problem is basically their way of saying "F-U" to the long time fans.

I apologize if I misquoted you. But games change. I loved Me1 but well it was staticy sometimes too. The N7 missions I swear are some of the most boring peice of gaming I have ever had. They made a cletionist like myself dread playing it sometimes. Don't get me started on the Mako.

What fans are they ignoring? I don't see an FU at all. I am a long term fan. They didn't do everything I liked but I don't see how I have to like everything. The autodialogue is annoying but I understand they were not trying to dillibritely ****** us off. They thought it would be more cinematic. They might be wrong but it isn't because they hate their fans.

Thank god the multiplayer is pretty solid, its the only thing keeping me sane. Who would have thought that a videogame's SOLO would break before the multiplayer. I mean it happens but not to games like this.

If you advertise your going to have something Implemented, you do it. Thats beyond ignoring, thats lying to people.

Exactly, it all goes back to the face importer issue, nothing else right now.

At E3 last year, I was appalled at how the Bioware crew kept saying that this was the perfect time to pick up the game and enter the Mass Effect franchise.
"But Bioware, you don't start by watching Return of the King," I thought.

But now I see.
Now I understand.

I dig it.

People should keep putting up the pressure. The fact that anything like this has to be done is asinine. Good thing I've been playing the backhalf of ME2 to get those decisions fine tuned.

This thread will explode again tomorrow with freshly pissed off people when the other half of the world gets the game and tries the import feature.

Now begins the road to 100 pages of discontent. I sure hope they have the decency to give us an update.

Just posting to add my voice to the mob: I couldn't import my Shepard face either. Luckily the workaround posted in the first post allowed me to recover a face close enough to the original one.

Hi everyone

We are aware that some players are having issues importing the faces of characters from Mass Effect 1 or Mass Effect 2 into Mass Effect 3. The issue is likely in how faces were detected when imported from Mass Effect 1 into Mass Effect 2, and we’re working on the best way to correct it for affected players.

As our teams work hard to address the importing of face codes we would like to call out a fan made tool that may be able to help PC users in the short term:
Mass Effect Tools

Hey Chris, to give you an idea of how important this is. I originally spent 3hrs creating my original Shepard in ME1. Importing from ME2 has got to be one of the highlights of my gaming life of over 20 years. Then after shelling out $129 for the special addition I was mortified to find it wouldn't recognise my save and so I spent another 2 hours with photos trying to replicate my original femshep, now after playing for six hours I just am not happy with my results. I'm actually going to go back and fine tune some mistakes I made of the recreation as It's so intergal to the experience. Perhaps I'm an extreme case but I think it's worth noting how dire this situation is for long term fans as we basically cannot continue the experience because of this major oversight in the games development.

ptys

I would have never bought ME2, ME3, or any of the dlc's if it wasn't for the import function.

Bioware got a lot of money from me because I actually cared about the story and characters. Otherwise, it would have felt like a Michael Bay film.

With Gears of war, I'm guessing the only reason people play that is for the combat and multiplayer, not for the characters. At least I hope people don't idolize characters that look like they came out of Jersey Shore.

Staggering that this got past QA. They should all be fired for such an obvious bug.

I too am one of the many affected by this. I thought I would drop you all a line to encourage you to vote with your wallets, and word of mouth. The MAIN thing any business pays attention to is sales. Right now there are only 19 reviews for the XBOX collectors edition on Amazon, and most of them are positive. And there are currently only 56 reviews for the standard edition, again mostly positive. There are still plenty of people who haven't bought the game yet. If they are encouraged to wait until a patch has been issued, by honest reviews talking about the problem we are all talking about here, then that may light a fire under EA/Bioware's feet to: #1, address the issue, and give an ETA, and #2 not ignore it and hope it will go away.

TL;DR

Review the game if you own it on places like Amazon, and honestly state your opinion of the state the game was shipped to you in, and whether you consider it playable or not as it is now.
