Could you just let us know about the update?
I'm not playing the single player game because of the fact that i can't import my me2 save.

It would be great to hear about the progress on the update...
Fun to have a whole weekend off and importing save files don't work on ME3. :pinched:

As far as I am concerned, the game deserves a low score in its current state. I'd be happy to re-evaluate the game when it's fixed and how it should be, but until then it might as well crash when I press start.

I'm well into the first 7 or 8 hours of playing the game and aside from the face import bug the experience is nothing short of awesome. Don't you think you're being a bit unfair to a game you haven't even started playing? The temporary solution is out there my friend.

It's not unfair at all.  The temporary solution doesn't work for Shepards whose facial structures, etc., Bioware decided to alter beyond all recognition compared to the first two games.

I know that many others in this thread are like me, I'm completely off on running Me3 now that I can not play with my Shepard, this was a very stupid move by BioWare, and btw bump on u post Cabester07, Jg has also been around since me one time on the xbox, so I feel exactly the same thing.

Just fired up ME3 quickly to see what problem i would encounter with my ME1 femshep. I get the same error message we have all seen, but apart from the hairstyle, eyebrows and facial colouring, it's still my custom femshep from 4 years ago; Hair/eye colour the same, same facial shape, same eyes etc...
It seems that the CC has a fair stab at trying to approximate the custom sheps out there with variable results.
It is disheartening to hear about the disappointment and frustration out there (fully understandable), at least the responses on this forum underlines just how much the character and this franchise means to all dedicated players out there - this alone will surely make Bioware take notice, and reciprocally a solution should be close at hand - if anything one of the constant messages that comes out from all of the PR and Bioware media is how much their fans mean to them.
They're not going to let us down.

Add me to this litany of woe.I don't buy a lot of games because I don't have the disposable income to do so, but I made an effort to scrimp away enough cash to get the CE of ME3, because I love the series and was sooooooo excited about the concluding chapter ...and now, this. Sure, at the end of the day, it's just a game, but after all the anticipation and excitement, it's genuinely frustrating. Please Bioware, if you can't fix this fast, at least let us know that. Even if you had nothing to tell us right now, you could *tell us that you have nothing to tell us*. You're driving a lot of people who are (or were) real fans of yours away with your virtual wall of silence approach to things so far.

Well, it took a while, but my Sheppard is back. I started a new ME2 campain, imported my ME1 Sheppard, and then switched back and forth from Custom face to imported Sheppard face tweaking until they looked exactly the same. I then wrote down the face code and entered it into Mass Effect 3 Face code generator. After some more tweaking, He looks exactly the same as in ME1 & ME2.

I can now enjoy the game. Not ideal, but necessary to play the game as I am not wasting my day off refreshing the pages of IGN and Bioware's Twitter page for an update!

Hope this helps anyone who is having trouble.

It's been what, three days? I think it will take longer than that to fix the import problem. Though I fail to see how they weren't able to catch this flaw in beta. Didn't testers try importing a variety of custom ME1 Shepards? A day one game-break like this is frankly shocking to me, given how easily it could have been caught.
Anyway, they're going to fix it and probably release it along with the first patch.

It's actually pretty sad to see my friends playing and discussing the game while I'm sitting with my CE not being able to even start without my Shep.

<------- See this face Bioware? This is not the face I want to see when I play Mass Effect 3. Jesus, you have been selling this game on the promise of playing your own character for years now and what do we get? A game that is Unplayable. Unplayable! That 3 Icon just sits there on my desktop mocking me for being such a chump to buy into this farce. Thank god I didn't buy SWTOR, I would gag if I thought I was giving you more money.

1. When we're gonna see update on the situation?

2. When we're gonna see the patch?

First - DRM. I got my game in pre-order 2 days before premiere, and I couldn't play. Now problem with the face... This is absolutely ridiculous. The game has already implemented information about the import problem, so BioWare knew about this probably long before premiere date. But EA shipped it anyway...

You want our money when you make DLC? First give us update, then patch, then free DLC for this mess, then stop publish DLC content already on the disk. Then, THEN we can talk about how Mass Effect 3 was a great game.

i loved mass effect 1 immensely. It was the best game i had played in my entire 20 years of gaming. I played it again and again and each time the ending brought tears into my eyes. I waited for mass effect 2 with the intensity of little child and even though it wasn't quite as heart gripping experience as the first one, I still played through it multiple times. Then came the difficult times. My Xbox broke and I was left with the decision with how to save my Mass Effect experience. Nothing else on that box really mattered, Ninja Gaiden II top scores bah.. I just want to save my Shepard. I did not have money for a new Xbox but I had heard that you could extract the save game from the old hard drive. So I went and bought both Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2 on the PC. I thought that if nothing else, I could play it from the beginning if I ever had the time. In any case I preordered Mass Effect 3 on the PC. I saw no reason not. I started out with Mass Effect 1 when I realized that I needed all the DLC to have the complete save game that I wanted. Well as you all know you cannot transfer DLC from the xbox version to the PC version so I bought all of it again. At this point I'm starting to realize that the amount of money that this "change of platform" is going to cost me could almost afford me a new console. I was disheartened by this and I had less and less free time so I never got to play through the first games again. I tried to salvage the saves from the old Xbox but it proved difficult and more time consuming than actually playing the game. My Birthday and Mass Effect 3's launch was getting near when something incredibly nice happened. I got new Xbox as a birthday present from my girlfriend. I thanked her with all my heart and thought that i'm going to leave the PC version to tinker with for a later time. Now I can just grab the old hard drive from my old Xbox and continue what i had started so long ago. So i went and bought Mass Effect 3 again for the Xbox. I didn't complain, now I had all 3 on both platforms and someday I could compare the gameplay experience through the entire series. For now all I wanted to do was to play Mass Effect 3 with my new Xbox. This morning me and my girlfriend had a fight that ended in tears. I was feeling miserable when i went to check the mail and there was the tiny box that would be my new Mass Effect 3. I had already downloaded it on the PC but i hadn't played it because i wanted to get my original Shepard for my first play-through. I went back up to my room I put the disc into the Xbox...

Now i know its just a game. I wont die if I don't get to play it. I even know that you cannot always find all eventualities in testing and sometimes these things happen. I should probably be doing something else than gaming today. But you can only fit so many setbacks on one day and expect to come out of it unscathed. Today all of it just felt like too much and the tears don't seem to stop unless i get this out someway.

If you read this, you should know that finding that bug will make at least one of your fans life a little bit brighter.

I hope you the best

"Working on it" my ass. I bet they'll fix this after a few months, thought it being one of their hardest sales hooks (play as your own character through the series) and that when they eventually DO fix it, it'll be released as DLC. If I was running Bioware, I'd put every one of the coders on fixing this, seeing as it's a fundamental error in the coding/making of this game. And secondly; I'd adress the bugs that unables people to play, as they - in most cases - are understandable, as they don't apply to every computer setup.

The next game I'm getting from Bioware will be from piratebay.

Besides all the anger expressed already about how Bioware released this game with such a huge bug, how cowardly of Bioware to continue to stay silent and not keep we the customers, you know the people who keep you in f**king business in the loop on fixing your screw up.

I hear PS3 fans will soon be joining the Bioware fail train after reports of the FPS running god awful on that console compared to the Xbox or PC. More fails, more silence by Bioware.

F.U. Bioware!! Yeah I said it, cause let's face it, many people are thinking it right now so I may as well say what many of us are thinking of the way you are treating us despite the risk of being banned but hey you guys are ignoring us anyway so..........

That's the thing.  They already let us down.  No early heads up about the problem.  No sharing of info to the community to help with a solution that they apparently felt was not justifiable business-wise.

This was the choice of management.  All they are doing now is seeing if the PR disaster is more cost-effective to ignore or throw money at.  I personally have lost all respect for them.  Just another bunch of suits out making money.

P.S.  Good idea about amazon.  I put up my review (not nasty, but accurate).  Personally, I think there will be plenty of used copies for ppl to pick up cheap, really soon.

I try to recreate my Shepard's face in ME3 and I did play sometime but it didn't feel right at all. I guess it's going to be a long waiting period to see this problem solved. Good thing mp works and I got the Art of Mass Effect Universe book yesterday. I'm disappointed about this thing but hoping that Bioware can fix this soon.

I want to play sp so much but with my first Shepard and he's own face...

I'm trying to use the tool in the opening post but to do that I need to login to this site:

http://legion.cal24.....php/site/index

The problem is I'm not registered on that site. I tried to register but when I fill in the details (username, password, etc.) and click register nothing happens. Is there something wrong with the site or is there something else I don't know?

EDIT: I feel a bit stupid now because I figured it out. One of the letters in my username wasn't accepted. That was the problem. Sorry for the inconvenience!

I've played Bioware Games for along time and have to say this is the first time I'ver been dissapointed.
This should have been detected in the test stages.
This also makes me wonder what otherdata are not correctly transferred.
Anyway, you've got our money and now you can just relax and ignore the community...
