Issue importing faces into Mass Effect 3 Updated March 21

And as others have pointed out, even if they fix the import, many of us are still screwed. I've gone through every facial preset, every set of eyes, every mouth. The pieces that made up my Shepard simply aren't there anymore.

This doesn't speak at all about what exactly this feature entails or what our imported Shepards will look like come patch time (if it's just a face code patch, we may be in for some disappointment), but at least it's not something that escaped notice during testing.

Then took pics of each angle with my psVita. Then clicked custom. Since it does keep some of the main features of the imported face, it wasn't tough.
Then,I just fixed the hair/facial hair type, hair color, and eye color. All that was done in ME2.
Then took the code and put it directly in ME3. Only thing that looked off was the eye color but other than that. It's MY shepard. God that was a relief.
Try that guys.

Mass Effect 3

IF anything it looks like hes aged.

I've just put up a quick website to bring more attention to this as it seems us in the forum are the only ones that care right now. I did this when EA wouldn't fix a game-breaking bug in The Sims 3 on Xbox 360 and they fixed it after caving under the pressure of the website & Twitter spam. Hopefully this will push them to make Bioware more aware of the situation too.

You may want to tweak your copy - some users are experiencing incorrect importation of their decisions as well, particularly their romantic interests with Liara.

Sorry, not trying to promote infighting. Just getting frustrated by all this talk that the workaround works. It may work for YOU by it doesn't for the rest of us and BioWare needs to realize that there's a larger portion of us where the workaround just isn't acceptable.

Review the game if you own it on places like Amazon, and honestly state your opinion of the state the game was shipped to you in, and whether you consider it playable or not as it is now.
I echo, agree, second and have done so on the retailer site in my country.
Make sure your shields are fully charged though - I've been flabbergasted by the number of negative responses and in some cases outright flaming my review received. I kept a discussion going with the PC and PS3 folks to start with but the comments on the Xbox page are so rabid that I'm not going to engage without Kaidan & Jack by my side and a Mako-full of Medi-gel at my disposal.
It's no wonder that EA/Bioware think that they can get away with buggy releases: the fan-base is it's own worst enemy sometimes. So if you happen upon a review site and a fellow gamer is getting a kicking for having the temerity to mention the bugs in ME3, maybe stop by and click the +/helpful/vote button or post a supportive comment?

Nice work. Feel free to use my images from this post if you want. You'd probably need to slice and dice them some to fit the same format as the others.

i bought the digital deluxe edition for pc which costs more than the us version ,since my market is set to europe, i had pre-ordered it still was left out when bf3 was given to only north american / canadian customers, and now the game doesn't really allow me to import my saved files , the time and the patience taken to make all those decisions and play the game.
I'm sorry but right now i'm given the support pirated games a very good thought.

To assuage you all, I have been assured (by someone who will remain nameless) that ME1 to ME3 face importation was working prior to release. Bioware did not miss testing it. In my programming experience, I can only assume something about the final packaging process must have gone awry and not thrown any errors - as I've had the Unreal engine sometimes do.
This doesn't speak at all about what exactly this feature entails or what our imported Shepards will look like come patch time (if it's just a face code patch, we may be in for some disappointment), but at least it's not something that escaped notice during testing.
This would be akin to the DA2 Autoattack "feature"?

i had my me2 saved files in an older computer , which did end up being burnt up / upgraded my rig.
so what i did now was reinstall me2 , load the saved files there
then took it to me3 saved files .
and presto it worked.
hope it helps people here.

I'm sorry but that sounds too much like marketing hype to me. If that was truly the case, why did they not announce just before release that me1 faces would not import was a bug that they would look into?vahnfox wrote...

Plus, why have they not announced what their progress is?
Not to mention that all the hype from Hudson about "so many small decisions making a difference", and "so many possible endings they are hard to count" seem to be totally off-base from what ppl are saying who have actually finished the game.

Thanks guys! Our best bet is to get this mentioned all over the internet rather than just Bioware's forum where they can easily ignore it.
Thanks, good work!

Nice idea. However, part of the info on the website is a bit off. The "It is quite clear that Bioware decided to ignore the loyal fanbase that started in Mass Effect 1, and chose only to concentrate on importing faces that were built using Mass Effect 2's character creator." to be exact.
My Shepard was created in Mass Effect 2's CC and the import still won't work in Mass Effect 3. So the problem isn't just localized to people who started in Mass Effect 1. It's affecting more than that.

The workaround simply doesn't work. It's good that some of you guys saying it does are happy with the results, but if you were to ask me, your Shepards just don't look like the same person between ME1,2, & 3.

The work around works if you're lucky. I was able to get the majority of my character back via the work around, but hairstyle, brow color, lip color, iris color, and other things were all missing because they were no longer in the game. I also imported a custom ME2 char, which should have had no issues, and even it looked like crap.
