So at last report . . . ME3 shipped over 800,000+ units on the first day. So after reading through this thread, its my understanding that this issue is NOT effecting everyone ( excluding those playing with the default profile )
??
Sometimes, on some saves, you will not get the message of being able to grab your face code, yet it will have replaced what you got with one of the cycled presets. So, there are probably some out there that touched up a preset in ME1 or ME2 and can go "well, it looks like mine, just need to muck around with hair to get it right."
I'd say anyone who wasn't a default player is effected. Of course, you hear plenty of folk going around always saying sarcastically "that isn't Shepard why would you change it from the default?!" and that dreck.
They aren't going to report a fix until the fix is complete, which means when it is ready to patch. What game companies give pre-patch ETAs and information until the release notes are compiled and put out there? I'd also not be shocked that the process worked pre-launch. I get that people are upset, because I am too, but does anyone here think that a gaming company would actively try to sell broken critical features to people? I hear a lot of demonizing of Bioware and EA...and while chasing the money is whatever, chasing the money only compounds future profitability of your company and your brand recognition. Do you think a developer wants to be watch the whole thing fall on their head? They want their game to be loved, want it to be cherished, want people to speak good things so it spreads. That's the cache in the industry. Hell, all the people crapping on COD, Infinity Ward and Treyarch built up a lot of good will with what they did with that franchise to get it where it is. Might not be that way today, but was.
People are upset, but no game company is going to give an hour to hour breakdown of what is going on within their coding process, or if they're having a breakthrough, or whatever. The message will be about working on it, no ETA, and then they will annouce the patch and the patch notes. Push for a timely patch, within a week or two because of cert, but expecting a patch to fix it while we are still in the launch window...nobody does that.
