I tried copy-pasting the wordpad data put its not uploading either

Hmm    I just tried the yaml paste and generate and it works for me...  If you have a place you can put your file i can try for you.

Or you can pm me the yaml code (Note: cut out all the LOD0 lines for brevity.)   Only need the lines above LOD0 and below.

Can you see my problem here?

If you think it couldn't possibly be this bad, and these are really different faces, here's the code.  See for yourself.

For other people who want to post comparison pics, personally I'd recommend using in-game shots if you can, as I think they tend to bring out the difference more than the cc screen.  Up to you though, of course.

same happened to me

ME3 mesh and face are very badly implemented - what people don´t realize is that the developer BOTCHED the face mesh, you can see in this

Posted Image

if you don´t know who that is, you never will - that is Bimbo-Ashley, and she is that way because there is no way they could import Ashley face from ME2 and ME1 into ME3

and Anderson skin looks like the one from an Elephant - or as Anderson would look had he been frozen and then warmed up in an micro wave oven.

I would not be complaining if I just had to fix a few things. But I got the import error message. I played my characters twice to level 60 (or close) so there's no code either. When I read the long fixes my eyes glaze over. If it is going to take a month to fix (or recreate or whatever they have to do...again with the eyes glazing over),

I want my money back. I'm not going to finish the game with my fake Shepard. I'll take the money to pay rent or buy groceries. Economic crisis, Bioware. People don't have money to just throw away on a broken product! I don't blame Chris or anyone. I hope no one gets fired. I just want to import my Shep, that's all.

They just misplaced a couple of nodes, man!!!

They put her ass instead of her face...but you cannot see the face because else would be forbidden to minors!!! :D

Looks like I won't be picking this up after all. Poor form Bioware.

I'm hoping this isn't just EA's way of saying "Give Multiplayer a try in the meantime" while we wait and sit around for the "patch", meaning that they might already have the fix ready, they just want more people to get into multiplayer aspects first.

The most ridiculous part of this is that even some Sheps started in ME2 don't import properly! So there isn't even the excuse of ME1 being "old" or whatever.

What the hell possessed Bioware to remove certain facial features that have existed since ME1!? It's just unbelievable.

Honestly I can make my Shep look okay - with allowances for the new graphics. But without her purple eyes, she just looks off. Has anyone had any luck with other colors?

Ugh what is wrong with her face? Its like her entire facial structure is different. The skull shape isn't even the same  :crying: this is seriously depressing.

My face import worked. I'd like to stress, I got lucky. My best friend heard that my face imported and he finally decided to pick up his copy that had been sitting at Gamestop. (And when he picked it up, the dude behind the counter said he had no idea what he was talking about with the face imports.) So, he just got home, tried to import....ERROR MESSAGE.

Now, I'm angry all over again. And feel slightly guilty that mine worked. What I want to know is WHY mine worked and his didn't. Is it random? What is creating this error?

So, we walked through ME 2 and imported the face again, thinking, get the face code and put it in. Well there is NO facecode for his imported character. What sucks? He's going to recreate the face. He's tired of waiting. And all I can think is that Bioware screwed so many people.

And also, why are some importing, but most not? Some damn clarification would be nice. In fact, just about anything from a Bioware employee would be nice. My buddy won't come to this site, so I'm gonna be angry (again) for him. He is resigning himself to recreating the character...but if you don't think that takes away so much from YEARS of playing this game....and the fact that we all preordered it....I seriously think everyone on this board, and everyone who preordered this game, DESERVES A PUBLIC APOLOGY from a guy named Ray. Seriously.

Some assets carried over, some got changed, some got removed. His Shepard obviously had options that bioware took out. Like you said, you got lucky.

I haven't even gotten my copy yet, it's arriving tomorrow, but I'm really rather nervous about starting my game up ever since I heard of this issue. If I can't play with my Shepard, I don't want to play. I've been through hell and back with her and I don't want to just write her off as if she doesn't matter or replace her with the default Shep.

As other people have stated, this MUST have been discovered in testing and they've obviously just chosen to ignore it... How could something like this possibly be missed? Or how could they think people wouldn't care about it? Some of the screenshots I'm seeing of imported characters looking completely different are rather disheartening to say the least.

Might as well get a refund or a free game coupon guys, the "fix" they're putting in just has to do with face codes, IE the very thing the players came up with as a workaround, it shows not only complete disrespect to their oldest fans such as myself and others here, but unbelievable laziness.

I shouldn't laugh, but oh my goodness. I can imagine her running toward her LI with her arms outstretched saying, "What don't you love me anymore?" Then she sobs and eats icecream. At least, that's what I would do :)

My best guess would be that your face's features are all already in ME3, and the ones for the majority of us have pieces of the face that BW removed from the CC altogether (certain hair, eyes, etc.).

EDIT = Pretty much what Kastigar said.

Forgive me if I've missed something here, it hasn't exactly been very easy to keep up with this thread, but is absolutely everyone else experiencing an error message when they import? Because I do not. It simply just shows the Filipino-looking custom preset instead of my Shepard.

I've typically just been going to the last page when I check. So many people are posting here that I feel it'd be apparent if something were to change. That is to say, no update as far as I can tell, no.

Hahahahaha. Sorry, I feel for you but that. Is. Hilarious! Someone should tell Shep not to hit the cookie jar, but maybe she had some issues about the reaper coming that she coped with by eating.

I just wish there was a way for me to know what my imported Shepard would have looked like so I'd know whether or not to just proceed with a recreation. It's all a big damn question mark. For all I know, they'll fix this thing and what I made will be an improvement. Or maybe it'll look exactly like it did in 2, including the facial hair color that has been removed. I don't know what the rules are here. I don't know what "working as intended" would mean in this scenario.

The pics over here doesn`t look bad, the face from ME2 looks horrible compared to the ME3 face.
If thats the only thing that is wrong, then I won`t mind if my characther changes, as long as my choices is intact.

Guys, hate to say... I don't think they're gonna fix it. They would at least say something... anything. My guess is they're seeing the 9.0 reviews and pre-order sales and are thinking, 'these guys are just whiners, our game is awesome, screw 'em. They'll forget it'.

Thought I'd be a good sport and at least try to recreate my Sheps face. I thought it looked OK until I started playing and noticed a npc looked nearly identical to my newly recreated Shepard. Not a big deal at first. A fluke, I thought, until a few hours later when I saw another near twin. Really takes me out of the game, I don't want to see another one. It would be like be like seeing Stallone as an extra every 10 minutes in Rambo.

Seems like these newer face codes are less complex than the older ones (or at least look less complex). It just keeps reminding me I'm playing a game. I never ran into this problem with the old face while playing the other Mass Effects. I didn't see a Shepard clone every five minutes. I don't really feel like playing it anymore. I've been waiting for this game forever. This was right up there with The Dark Knight Rises as the top things I was looking forward to this year. Guess I'll have to wait till then to be inspired again (at least I only have to pay 10 bucks for Dark Knight). Hate to say it Bioware, but I've lost my faith in you guys. Maybe you guys should stick to your movie ideas from now on. Leave the RPG's for Bethesda. It's a wonder you guys got such great ratings for this game. Guess your PR department knew a few people cause I strangely see little mention of this on the major website reviews. Good for you, I guess...
