Nobody is dissmissing them. They have a legit reason to be upset about this. I'm just simply pointing out that it's not fair to bash an entire game & its developer because one feature that you care about doesn't work correctly. I'm not saying that they shouldn't be upset, I'm just saying that they shouldn't base the entire game's quality based on that one feature.

Why not?  Isn't it a very important if not essential component of the game?  It's been touted directly or indirectly as a feature in the previous two games.  So why isn't it fair to bash the entire game and developer when they held it out themselves as a reason for anyone to play the Mass Effect games?

ETA: Also, that they've had a collective 4 years of knowing through these forums how attached the fans of the series are to their custom made Shepards

So you're saying that the gameplay machanics are horrible because the face is wrong? The voice acting is horrible because the face is wrong? The story is horrible because the face is wrong? The graphics are horrible because the face is wrong?

You see how odd the sounds? Like I said, I understand that people are angry with this feature not working but if you take each component out of context & judged them seperately, most would agree that everything besides the face import feature is great.

That's like hating an entire book because you didn't like the cover of it so now it's unreadable.

What are you even doing here? This is a thread to demonstrate to BioWare how fans are unhappy with the fact that this mechanism doesn't work as they were lead to believe it would. You're mentioning mechanics and graphics. If you're not upset with the issue move on. People are upset. Loyal fans that have spent their hard-earned money on a game that has a major issue that takes away from the experience that is Mass Effect 3. We've become attached to our characters, enjoyed exploring the galaxy as them, and feel like this is a personally important part of the game. If you're not upset about this issue and/or wish to express that you're upset, share sentiments with other players, or generally don't think it's a big deal then you have no reason to argue or be present in the discussion.

Umm last time I checked this wasn't a discussion on how upset we are & how much we hate Bioware because of this screw up. It was a thread created to give an update to the issue of face importing in Mass Effect 3 & nothing more. If you want to form a circle jerk & complain with other people who want to complain about this then start a new thread entitled: "Mass Effect 3/Bioware hate session. Post about how upset you are that the face import doesn't work & how you're not going to play Mass Effect 3 until they fix this".

What good is it to me that Gears of War has gameplay mechanics. What good is it if Gears of War has voice acting? What good is it that Gears of War has a good story? What good is it if Gears of War has good graphics?

That all sounds great and very interesting, but Gears of War doesn't have Shepard in it. If Mass Effect 3 wasn't going to have Shepard in it then it's not Mass Effect and it's broken.

Assassin's Creed 2 didn't have Altair in it, but was it still an Assassin's Creed game? Assassin's Creed 3 won't have Ezio in it, but will it still be an Assassin's Creed game?

Bioware already hinted that there would be more games set in the Mass Effect universe which may or may not feature the Shepard you created, will it still be Mass Effect if it doesn't? While the main character is important, it's not the only component to Mass Effect. It's a big component & an importent one, but not the only one. What good would Mass Effect 3 be if it only took pace on Earth & you couldn't get on the Normandy & see other worlds & other aliens? Would be a pretty ****ty Mass Effect game even if the face import worked.

That's great and we already know that, but we are talking about Mass Effect 3 which is about Shepard.

Ok guys i would really appreciate some help with http://masseffecttoo...rg/v2/index.php as ive been stuck for a few hours.

Basically, I am trying to locate my .xbsav files. When I use Modio,I can see is Char_Prep, then, when I go into 'File Contents', I only see 'player.sav' and 'state.sav'. How do I locate the xbsav files? This is by using the 'Mass Effect 2 Importer' file from my xbox 360.

When you're creating your new game save file on your  360, are you manually saving after you wake up Lazarus base?

Im not making any new save files. This is because I sold Mass Effect 2 and can't do this. Therefore I'm using save files deep in the game. I haven't tried it with the "Mass Effect 2" files directly (as I'm sacred because you can't copy the files- only move) - I am using "Mass Effect 2" importer....although I didn't think this would make a difference?

Hmm, not exactly sure....I used the recommendation to start a new game and then you import in save #1.  I don't know if porting a later save with more information works the same.  As far as doing it the way I did it, you only need the game for about 15-20 minutes, so if you either know someone you can borrow it from for a night that would work (or you could buy a used copy then return it the next day).  Sorry it's not the answer you wanted, but hope that helps.

This one goes out to Bioware and any modders out there:

Could someone please get this haircut back into the game?!?

Image IPB

Got my facecode and its near enough, except for this one thing. When the camera is up close and personal its my old shep, but when the camera is further away some angles make it look as if an elephant sat on her head. The forehead is much smaller with the new haircut (that resembles the old one). Somehow I didnt imagine my shep shaving her forehead in ME 1 and 2.

The dialogue choice you have highlighted is VERY approrpriate for this thread I think.

Look Latin Mafia III, it comes down to a difference of standards.  Apparently yours aren't as high as some of the others are in this thread.  That's where any sense of what's reasonable or unreasonable lies between your line of thought and the others in this thread.

With that said, there's no natural hierarchy on this particular subject matter that says your opinion is more valid than the others that think the game is ruined and vice versa.  I've tried to explain the point of view and to continually push the issue as if the people that think the game is ruined over a face are crazy IS dismissive of their opinions and likewise foolish.

As for the thread, yeah it is a thread for notice of any updates, but any discussion involving frustration and angst towards BioWare I say would naturally result in such a thread.  So there's really no issue in my mind.

This is a discussion about how fans are upset about the issue because of the fact that it actually exists. This is what happens when an issue with such personal significance is present in a "completed" game. It's funny you should say circle jerk because you clearly don't understand the gravity of this issue for veteran players and paying customers. You've got this all wrong. Nobody is saying "GEE  BIOWARE  IS  A  TERRIBLE  HORRIBLE COMPANY  BURN  THEM TO  THE  GROUND  THEY  MAKE  TERRIBLE  GAMES  AND  I  HATE  ALL  OF  THEM." We're expressing our concern about a part of the game that is extremely significant to people. What if a game mechanic was broken, since you're so concerned about those? I'm willing to bet you'd be in a thread losing your mind about that. To each their own issue, and I've said it before: What are you doing here? You're clearly not effected by this issue so I see no reason for you to be defending BioWare so vehemently. BioWare doesn't need a white knight fan.

We're presenting the company we support for making good games with our concerns about their product they sold to us. Naturally any sensible human being who feels that this issue takes away from the game wishes to express their concern and show the company that they only wish to have a game that works properly. If everyone in this thread said "ok yeah face import doesn't work they'll fix it eventually" do you think that BioWare would care? Sure they might fix it, but they wouldn't be as concerned than if people came in and said "Hey guys this is broken and it's bothering me, it's kinda messed up that you gave it to us like this, but if you fix it as soon as you're able to that'd be cool." and "Guys this is a bit disrespectful and careless of you to do this. Please dedicate a bit of time to fixing it as soon as you can, because it is taking away from the game for me." A company is sure as hell not required to update us on the progress of the patch or an ETA, but it sure would be a good way for them to say "Hey guys we're sorry about this. We're fixing it as soon as possible and it could be out by (date), but we're not entirely sure yet." And by presenting us with an ETA it shows that they realize it is a big issue for many players and shows that they care about the fans instead of making us think they don't care and/or think us fools to take for granted.

Next time please be understanding of the other side of the argument before you rabidly attack those who wish to express their concerns, even if some of them may be over the top.

I think all three dialogue options have relevance :)

Oh if we only had the mod tools to make a in-game skit of the whole debacle! I don't think anyone's Shep would be letting this politely:nonsense go unchallenged.

So you have determined what we have already known since the problem first became known? Bravo.
This was already present in the demo version so stop playing stupid and innocent Bioware.

Yeah, it would be nice if I could import my ME1 faces.
I don't get... why wasn't it tested in the first place? It's fundamental to test something like this.

ME1 is canon for EA since they had nothing to do with it, so why should they use resources to make loyal fans happy? Its is probably a skewed reason like this one behind this "problem", "bug", "miss" etc.

Ah, I don't think it's the big evil company being evil, I think it's just an oversight. And a pretty ashaming one, to be honest.
I hope we'll see it patched sooner rather than later.

Damn this game is good. Great job, even though I liked ME2 more (this far), it's still a great game.
My face is so close as it can be, but since many other characters don't look the same I've stopped kicking my self.
I hope you fix this problem though, cause I wan't to do a playthrough again after this one :)

Its a pretty dumb oversight. 2 YEARS in the making. And they think people wouldn't care when it got released?

No it is just the end of this weekend even before it started.
Really was looking forward playing ME3 all weekend now when I finally had time off but no Bioware had other plans instead...
