Well yeah the Argus felt like the cousin of the Revenant, big and bad.

But I’m against playing the Soldier class without Adrenaline Rush, that’s the signature skill of the Soldier and having a cooldown of more than 5 seconds is bad at least for the Soldier players, it just feels weird.

That’s why I’m rolling with Sniper/Assault Rifle combination, maybe ill change the sniper for a Heavy Pistol as soon as I get a heavy hitting one with a scope (less weight / better cooldowns).

I wanted to include a shotgun in that combination but add too much weight.

They were right in that the Soldier can use a bunch of weapons but they didn’t mentioned that you had to say goodbye to your cooldows :(

I have to say I don't care for either of the rifles. The recoil is pretty ridiculous. Am I shooting an assault rifle or a cannon? So far I've stuck with the Avenger.

Agree the kick on these things, other than the avenger, is silly.

I assume they amped up the kick so all the people who had to have weapon add ons so this would be an RPG would get some sort of a noticiable gain from a AR Stability V thing. Thanks guys.

I like the Valkyrie alot. Pretty much a burst fire avenger with more stopping power.

With the stability upgrade and the double tap burst I end up landing alot or headshots. Main drawback is it's weight. Can't recommend it for caster classes but it's good for a soldier

I actually spent a good chunk of time in the spectre firmg range using all the weapons.

Ironic that the burst weapon is very inaccurate compared to its semi-auto counterpart.

In the trailer, you can see the Argus hit one guy in the chest, arm and head with the same burst. That's not something you'd want for a rifle.

In fact, it makes me wonder what kind of half-assed military would want to make that thing the primary weapon for its infantry if it can't hit for crap.

While i get your point, look at the Koleshnikov Model of 1947 (ak-47) by far the most popular assualt rifle in the world but if you have ever fired one you know the gun certainly does not get any points for accuracy, while i personally cant stand the gun especially the iron sights, It is an extremely popular weapon for a reason.

Also much easier for a Novice to use, if your not a good shot an innacurate weapon works in your favour because the spray is more likely to land a lucky bullet or two on your intended target.

I've used the Valkyrie a lot, and I've equipped the Argus on James quite a bit.

The Argus sucks, it's way too heavy for how much damage or lack of it does, very inaccurate. For me the jury is still out on the N7 Valkyrie.

I think I'll go for Avenger and shotgun for my Vanguard.

And take the weight reductions.

Word from the spoiler forum is that the Valkyrie is better than the Argus, but the Vindicator (which I think is just a regular in game rifle) has nearly the same stats and is half the weight.

Probably a lot of personal preference, I will check out the Argus and see when I eventually get to play...

This is true, i was testing them at the Spectre Shooting Range and the Vindicator was like the best all around option.

Argus is too heavy, too inaccurate but packs a punch.

Valkyrie is a bit better, is 2 round burst and 16 bullets magazine (8 shots), high recoil for a semi-automatic rifle, a bit inaccurate if shooting too fast.

Vindicator is the same as the Valkyrie only is half the weight, 3 round burst and 24 bullets magazine (8 bursts).

I personally wanted to use the Valkyrie for the looks, but adding 1.4 secs to my cooldowns is kinda bad.

Starting to hate the weight, my soldier seems doomed to carry only 2 weapons for an optimal use of Adrenaline Rush with a 3 sec cooldown D:

It seems you went with weight reduction in final alliance training rank. I went with the damage increase. With 2 weapons, I have a cooldown of 5.38 secs, which ain't too shabby.

If anyone is interested: M-90 Indra Sniper Rifle (PC)

www.alienwarearena.com/giveaway/mass-effect-3-giveaway

Tested and looks more like an assault rifle than a sniper rifle.
Plenty ammo, fast fire rate, good magazine and pretty accurate with the scope.

Maybe I can roll using only this weapon for the cooldownz, need to test it using Adrenaline Rush and compare the damage.

The Argus has a ton of recoil, but pretty good damage. Right now, I'm using the Valkyrie, because with AR, it pops heads for days. It has fairly low recoil, but a good amount of bloom. The damage is about as high as the Argus, but it shoots two-round burst.

Argus climbs way to much. (Then again I just used the Argus I.) The Valkyrie is a boss. I'm killing folks left and right. It reminds me of a cross between the Vindicator and the Mattock.

Well yeah, at least the rank 4 makes AR last longer, the rank 6 is more weight or damage, i might reset and get damage cause Indra seems too good to pass and if using only that gun cooldowns might not be that high.
I might need to spec more ammo in the disruptor and incendiary powers if im going to roll using only 1 weapon.

Shame the Valkyrie was so limited in availability...would have been nice if all pre-orders got it, it looks like a sweet gun.

Try to use the Indra at the shooting range with the few upgrades and mods available for purchase at the normandy. Combine that with any ammo skill with the extra ammo rank 5.

Result= medium damage, high rate of fire, great accuracy at close and long range, 250 ammo (350 with the ammo mod) 25 or + magazine. Bonus: Great weight for great cooldowns.
Can be used with adrenaline rush spam for a whooping damage boost.

Indra seems a bit Overpowered for a Sniper Rifle "All around weapon"

Note that the M-90 Indra Sniper Rifle key will only work on PC

Try it! is goooood :D

Vindicator with upgrades and mods takes the gold medal in the Assault Rifle Competition. Sucks for long range though, same with all the assault rifles with burst fire, maybe the Mattock can be better as a Semi-Auto Rifle with great accuracy.

Cant give a better input about the Mattock, dont have it yet.

PIsses me off because I wanted to preorder from Gamestop but they wouldn't accept my credit card and kept saying the billing info didn't match, which was BS. So I ordered from Amazon instead of dealing with the hassle. I wanted to hear that the Valkyrie sucked. Is the Valkyrie the best assault rifle or are there better ones? I haven't even touched single player yet. Multiplayer is surprisingly addicting.

I find the Valkyrie quite fun. It doesn't kick too much and in cover, it's a boss. It might weigh a lot, but with AR, it does amazing headshot damage, especially when using the +20% bonus from ammo powers. I don't really like the Argus, though I haven't used it enough to be an authority on it. It is very inaccurate compared to the other ARs and weighs far too much compared to the vindicator, even if it statistically does more damage.

Also, is the highest level of weapons in single player V or X? I know weapon mods are V, but what about the weapons themselves. I myself have the Valkyrie at level V right now.

The Valkyrie is good, even though weights a lot. But dont worry, i ran a few tests and the Vindicator is exactly the same and weight less (Valkyrie 2 shot burts while Vindicator is 3) i assume is easier to do headshots with the Valkyrie.
You get the Vindicator in Mars, just after leaving Earth.

Also, dont know if its a bug or what but while using the Indra at the shooting range at the Citadel it seems that the damage is lower if you fire from the hip, it boost like almost 3 times the damage if firing while zooming.
Need more input in this

Personally I've never liked burst fire rifles, but if I had to choose I'd pick the Valkyrie, it's a lot more accurate.

One trigger pull and you're aiming at the sky. BioWare penalized the big guns too much. They're super heavy (for power classes, that's penalty enough), but the recoil was wayyyyy overdone.
