Just saying. I'm having a blast with my Engineer Shepard. It's always been my favorite class, but this new weapon load/cooldown balance system combined with the new powers makes them take two extra levels in badass.

Kill them with fire! If this goes on, I'll get the "Pyromaniac" achievement (100 fire kills) before I'm finished with Mars. And Sabotage is back, har har! This time with a chance to have enemy weapons backfire. Can't wait to see the effect of that. The new turrets are a little hard to judge, though. Their endurance varies wildly.

I've always played Vanguard but after seeing the ability list for campaign engineer it was one helluva tough decision to stick with vanguard.  It'll definitly be my class for playthrough 2.

Haven't used the drone that often so far. If I spam anything, it's Incinerate and Sabotage. Guns? Who needs guns if you have direct damage powers with a cooldown of 2.3 seconds and good anti-shield and anti-armor powers? Just make sure enemies can't shoot (Sabotage) then mop them up. And if you need some conventional firepower, let your turrets talk for you.

My first ME1 Character was an engineer, and I just finished a new engineer playthrough just prior to release (although the demo scarred me). But yes they are amazing... I'm loving the flame throwing turret, and the drone while not as awesome as it was in ME2 is still very effective at its job.

My first playthrough is only on Hardcore (saving insanity for next run), so mileage will vary.

Incinerate eats through armour and health while overload takes care of sheilds/barriers. If there is an enemy that has protection then the engineer can take care of it. No other class has this multi-purpose ability.

Carnifex + Engineer = unstoppable.

Sounds like the engineer is how I imagined my sentinel would be. I guess the only thing engineer is lacking, is the bonus damage for weapons.

Engineer kicks ass! I was getting bored with it in ME2 but I love my Sentry turret / Combat Drone combo.

How is your combat drone working Sidac? I remember in ME2, my drone was always next to my target and harrassing it so much it couldn't do anything. Now I noticed the enemy moving around, hiding and shooting at me while my drone was standing out of LOS from his target, shooting missiles at it :S

The drone is pretty awesome, I don't think it as good a lockdown as it was in ME2 though... but combined with the turret... full of awesome.

The biggest issue with Engineer is getting all the points to make all the powers you want.

You basically want:

Max Drone
Max Turret
Max Sabotage
Max Overload
Max Passive

Take the +100% damage taken upgrade for Sabotage. If you hit them with Sabotage then Overload it causes a Tech Combo. With +100% tech damage taken you can blow the crap out of many enemies in 2 hits even on insanity.

While irrelevant, I got the pyromaniac achievement while playing as an Adept. Strange things happen when the Reapers attack.

You don't really need drone and turret both at the same time. Just take one of them or don't max up either one. So far, I've been only using sabotage, incinerate and overload. Drone for only when I get a heavy hitter or a Cerberus guy with a shield.

Turret seems quite "meh" so far. I don't see the point of it. The drone was made for distraction and it works well in that way, don't see the reason for the turret.

Also, engineers seem to be the better class of sentinels. Whatever sentinels can do, engineers can do it better lol.

Engineers also got awesome cc in ME3. If you cryo blast an enemy and then kill it with incinerate, the enemy will blow up and freeze all other enemies in an area.
