I just tried to generate a placeholder voice over as shown in the tutorial on the wiki, but it didn't work and I'm not sure why. The log window shows this in it's display. Help?

I have the same problem. I couldn't run the "Generate VO" command for either the demo or my own mod. Find any answers yet?

I had that same error when I first started working with generate VO.
The wav file must be recorded in or converted to:
PCM 24 khz 16 bit mono format
I suggest downloading a program called GSPOT v2.70a . It will help you identify your sound file to make sure it's the right kind. Just make sure the Codec is PCM Audio and the Hz is 24000.
I wrote a tutorial on the entire sound & conversation process over at my discussion thread. Before you read this, tell yourself you're going to study it for at least 10 minutes or else you fail! lol

Edit: Solved. Due to a problem with my registry, SAPI5.dll to be exact. Fixing that solves it and it works now.
