I'm having trouble importing my Shepard from ME2.  I have multiple saved games of him, but when i try to start a new game not a single one of my old saves is recognized.

I can't figure out what could be the issue.  I've finished the game once for sure, with everyones loyalty but zaheeds, and having everyone survive.  Both games are up to date.  I certainly havent deleted any of my ME2 saves or gamedata...

Help would be much appreciated Bioware.  I got ME3 to finish -my- shepards story.  I dont want to ruin any story elements by playing through as Generic Shepard Number One my first time through...

Ok, so i talked to a guy at customer support. After finding out I've checked and done what i already have done, his suggestion is that i replay ME2 and try it that way.

Good job EA customer service...

I'm having the same problem - my save is not recognized at all and I have 0 choices for importing my old save.

bump for my sake and BitWarriors...

I've reluctantly started a new ME2 game. Hopefully, if it works, in a couple weeks I'll be able to enjoy the game I wish I was playing right now.

Words cannot express my mild disappointment at having to take this approach.

Has anyone heard anything on this? It's quite annoying.

Same here load game click on import ME 2 character.
The import screens comes up blank after a few moments of loading.
I was wondering if the PSN version of ME2 saves are any different from the disc version
Reasoning being I ask several friends who have the disc version of ME2, And their saves all imported.

Did any of you cloud save the data? I ask because, apparently, the cloud save has ruined people's ability to import their games on the 360.

Disc based game, ME2 saves are on the hard drive. Just flat-out doesn't work.

Have you finished and I mean totally completed ME2? I've got multiple characters with multiple saves, and only the saves it offered as options were the Auto-Saves and saves I made after total completion.

Just to mention, no, I've never used cloud saving - I've never subbed to the service. The save is fairly new, I actually rolled this character with the specific intention of having it be an import into ME3.

The save is a finished game on Insanity difficulty after saving everyone (including the full crew). This save was also used to obtain a Platinum.

I can't think of anything specifically "weird" with it - its a fully level 30 character, he's wearing custom DLC armor, the save game included all the DLC available with ME2. It was created rather recently, January 2012. Sentinel class. Full Paragon.

Same issue. None of my saves are coming up when I try to import. Collector's Edition disc and my all my ME2 saves are on my PS3. I even loaded them in ME2 to make sure they weren't corrupted.

I've read elsewhere that replaying the last mission might help. All my saves are after completion though, so I can't check this myself.

I'm having the same problem, and I don't use the cloud. All is in my hdd. And both ME2 and ME3 here are the downloading versions. When I try to import, all it shows is a blank screen. I finished ME2 twice. It would be nice to hear something from EA, I'm pretty pissed right now.

Agreed.

I can't even play this because I don't want to spoil the experience I should be having with my Shepard.

I have four saves from ME2 and only the totally complete (all campaign/ all dlc including the Arrival) Shepard was available to start with.

I'm gonna play through Arrival with the save I wanted to start ME3 with, and then see if I can import a different Shep. I hope so.

I love the MP. Can I say that around here?

I just loaded up my ME2 file and I notice that everything else is finished and closed(including the Arrival) but the suicide mission. It's been a while and I don't remember if that is always opened up to do again after you beat the game or if somehow it didn't save that I completed the game and thus I need to finish it again so that I can import it into ME3. If anyone can give me a quick answer, I'd appreciate it.

For the record, I've still had no luck.

My new shepard is doing nicely. You can save alot of time playing the game through again by skipping dialogue.

Alright, so I've figured out my problem and I'll share it here just in case this turns out to be the problem for someone else. Turns out that for whatever reason my ME2 file never saved after I completed the game the first time(I suppose it's possible I saved over it, but I'm always very careful so I'd be surprised if I did). Anyway, because the suicide mission was still open, I just had to do that again and now my character is coming up in ME3.

If you're still not having any of your files come up on the ME3 import screen, it's worth loading up your ME2 game and making sure your saves are from after the suicide mission and not before. Could have just been a screw up somewhere that's pretty easily remedied by simply playing through the last mission again.

Thanks duden.

That's what I thought it must be. I can't imagine I didn't save after the suicide mission for my other Sheps, but I reckon you have to have a completed save game to import.

Now if you could just find my CE soundtrack for me....

EDITED: Mass Effect 3 will only import Saves that are saved AFTER the ME2 Suicide Mission. You don't have to complete any DLC like the Arrival. It just has to be a save from after that final mission.

You're Welcome!

Great... I started a new game, I think in the same save, when those 2 options are presented :(
So I'll have to play ME2 again? Crap.
