Having just completed the prologue bit on Earth, I then sat through the cutscene aboard the Normandy. There wasn't any problem with Admiral Hackett as he gives his request to assist at Mars, but as soon as the scene ends and it transfers to the loading screen.. Bam.
One, two seconds and I hear a stutter in the background noise. Then it flashes up the dreaded little "Mass Effect 3 is not responding" box.
The game I've started is from an imported ME2 save (no ME1 save influenced it) and I'm a male vanguard. The loading screen itself is a still-frame, which I thought was odd, so that alone might be an indicator of the problem. ME3 works fine and runs like a dream, but this crash has been completely and totally consistent over a good seven or eight reloads, each and every time being at the same point and time.
Has anyone else been experiencing this problem? Is there any more information I could or should produce? I'm itching to start ME3, but this is proving to be a little bit of an unavoidable issue..
Well, thanks for any help that'll come in the future. I appreciate it.

Sorry for the double-post.
Just to test it out, I made a new character and didn't import my old save. Turns out that, when using a default character, this crash didn't occur. Heavens know why, but I thought it might be useful to state.
Still, I'm trying to find a workaround for my ME2 Shepard. It'd be a major bummer to not finish him out.
