During the mission on Eden Prime after viewing the lab footage the game crashed at the end of the conversation before I could regain control of my character.

Seconded, that just happened twice in a row to me too.

Same.  Have tried 3 times now, as the video ends and it swings around to regain control of Shepard, the game crashes with:  Mass Effect 3 has encountered a problem

Well I'm glad this isn't a issue on my end. Same thing happened to me, at the same spot, twice in a row.

Someone has found a temporary workaround for this problem:

Yeah I just read that and will give it a try. Thanks for posting that here so others having the same issue can find it.

I just rebooted the game & didnt try moving until I knew I had full control of my character... finished the mission no problems.
