I've played about five hours or so (through the second "combat" mission after the demo), and at several points the game had semi-frozen on me. This was not a hard lock-up that forced a reboot, but one in which the music would continue to play, and hitting the "x-box" button on the controller would bring up the dashboard menu, but I could not otherwise continue playing the game for about twenty to thirty seconds until the situation resolved itself. This would usually occur after a long cutscene ended and control returned to the player. I assume the game is loading assets that it unloaded during the cutscene or something, but it'd be nice if it said as much or something. For diagnostic purposes, I'm using an older model Xbox and have Kinect active.

I played a bit more and had it freeze up at least twice more. Once was during the chat with Miranda, where you have the choice to either end the conversation or go into "Investigation" mode. As soon as I clicked to continue the conversation it froze until I hit the Xbox button, then it continued from there.

I'm experiencing freezing issues too, but mine completely locks up. I don't know about you, but I noticed that it only happens when I installed the game to my HDD. It first happened on the transition loading screens, then during the Mars Mission. Usually the the sound will cut off and then the xbox locks up. It happened every time at the same point until I just deleted the install. Then when I reinstalled, it happen again at the dream sequence.
I haven't had any freezes so far from playing straight off the disc though. I have a Jasper Model from 2007, don't know if it helps.

on the Sur'Kesh mission I have a hard freeze as soon the cutscene ends as I'm about to enter the elevator to start the mission. One theory I've heard is to lower you screen resolution and things won't freeze, but I have not tried that yet.

update, I lowered my res to 720p and everything is working fine. see if that helps.

I've had this issue several times as well, in the middle of conversations mainly.

I'm having the same issue once or twice an hour. 90% of the time it's directly after a conversation is over, but I had the exact same issue with the Miranda coversation. Usually if I let it sit for a few minutes it gets past is, but I had to hard reset once.

I think there are at least two freeze issues, one like I've been having, which is temporary, and the other which seems more permanent (but I've never had that one). My resolution is not set too high (I don't even have HDMI hookups), so that's not an issue for mine, and it's never frozen permanently. Btw, for anyone that does have this issue, I suggest hitting the Xbox button immediately after it occurs. You should hear the muffled "ding" of the dashboard almost immediately, and within seconds the dashboard should pop up, and when it does it usually clears the freeze (at least the kind I've been getting).

Had this same issue. Skipped through the dialogue twice and it froze both times after getting on the elevator.
Went in the third time. Saved right before and let the cutscene play out. Didn't freeze. Might try not skipping dialogue.

I had my first complete freeze-up when trying to enter the shooting range. This happened when I had Disc 2 in, I swapped to Disc 1 before rebooting and was able to get in just fine, but cannot confirm that this was the cause. This was the first time that the game completely locked up on me, as opposed to "soft locking" such that I could open the dashboard to clear it. The screen went black, the little "loading" icon came up and started spinning, then stopped for a second, then started up again, then almost immediately stopped again and stayed stopped, no response at all for about a minute before I restarted. When I'd rebooted and tried to enter again, the range loaded up just fine in only a few seconds.

I am also having this problem. Playing on an older factory fixed Xbox, my third one after two previous red rings of death. The longest pause so far was a 20-30 second temporary freeze to a completely black/dark gray screen where the music continued playing while it was trying to load up the new section of the mission. There was no loading icon. I could still get the dashboard to come up, but the pause didn't automatically clear when I did that. This was during the middle of the mission where you meet back up with Garrus, when we were getting ready to go look for the general. I'm getting shorter 5-10 second pauses fairly frequently, where is just looks like the game hung up for a second, almost always after a cut seen or a lengthy dialogue piece (ie: conversation with Ashley on Mars). I'm not very far into the game, but these freezes are really taking me out of the immersion. I am running a Kinect if that makes any difference. Has anyone come up with a solution or do we think the game is just a little too much for the 360 to handle? Do we think this is something that a patch may fix or not? Going to try clearing the cache tonight - haven't done that yet.

My third freeze has me pretty upset. I have a Xbox 360 S, and the whole game has been glitchy. (I have the N7 CE)
My third freeze was right before the final battle (so far) and after love scene. Froze up on the loading screen of Normandy in space. The game is probably fine, because I save frequently and so does the game, but honestly, this is just sad.
When booting the game up from the dashboard, at the Earth loading screen before the 'press start' screen, I get a green filter instead of the loading screen. That's only disc 2, and that's the disc that's in there now... I'll clean the disc and try it again later. I'll post here when I do.

A part from the "Grissom Academy freeze issue" posted on this forum I experienced what I'd defined a "prolunged pause" more than a freeze at the end of From the Ashes DLC.
The camera lingered very long on the Prothean but his facial expression was still in motion. I pressed a button, I believe the X or one nearby and the dialogue proceed naturally.

Mine has hard freezed about 6x in the entire game. Ridiculous really, and I find I get scene freezes when my Shep tries to "run" in the Citadel instead of walking.

I am experiencing the temporary freezing problem when I ran the game from the disc. I don't know if it's related, but I just had a hard freeze when I tried to "resume" a battle right after I died after installing the game to the hard drive. The "Loading" icon stopped spinning and all I could do was turn off my Slim.
