Don't read if you don't want to be hugely spoiled.

Between shooting Mordin, watching Thane and Miranda die, and lying to Wrex about curing the genophage... with more previous squad member deaths to come, the 'renegade' (even though, morality has minimal effects) side of things is the most depressing thing to sit back and watch.

Personally, I like it... but, making your own path in the game can have some serious and sad outcomes. Thus far, the way many of the characters we grew to like/hate having such a depressing end is kind of... neat.

Shooting Mordin?

He sacrificed himself to spread the genophage cure here. Doesn't change the ending though.

I got to those scenes. There were incredibly emotional and powerful. I bawled like a baby and I loved it. I think that, apart from the endings, Bioware made a fantastic job. I'm litterally enjoying every minute of my playthrough.

Well, I chose the renegade interupt and I shot him in the chest and he crawled his way to the terminal only to die before reaching the switch. I guess the other choice to let him walk up on his own?

Miranda and Thane die...?

*sobs like a baby*

Can we at least save one of them?

I think you can save Miranda if you warn her about Kai Leng. Thane dies every time.

I wasn't aware that there was a way to warn her (and I've literally searched every square inch of the damn Citadel three times over because of the stupid side missions)

Indeed. What makes it worse for me is that most of the deaths seem incredibly contrived and meaningless (Normandy and crew dying to protect the deus ex machina device is one thing, but crash-landing on a random world after being randomly shot halfway through the credits...? Normandy doesn't have the crew, supplies or know-how to establish a viable colony, and good luck hoping for evac with the Mass Relay network down so it's basically them waiting to die of old age or trivial infections knowing fully well that no one will ever find their corpses...)

That's one of the prerequisites. She could be killed in another instance as well during a scene with her father. Check out the Miranda Lawson group for more info.

I'll say this those death scenes were pretty well done for the most part.

This. The end of the monastery mission is really disturbing if you go renegade.
