CEP 2.4 Models Issue
#1

So I reinstalled NWN Diamond Edition I got from GoG and I installed the CEP 2.4. I never had any issues installing the CEP in the past, but 2.4 just made ALL the models in the game just disappear. There are only shadows.
Has this happened to anyone else? Any fix?

If you wish to install from the disk(s) or from GOG or from Impulse
1. Install game using a ]. When you are given the path to the install folder, change the path using the browse folder button so that it is NOT installed in 'programs (x86)', but directly on C drive. Do not make any shortcuts during the install process.

1.69 update was already applied.
Are saying that you already ran the 1.69 critical rebuild? Or are you saying that GoG is already up to 1.69?
if it is the latter, download and run the critical rebuild. there is really no reason to guess at anything else untill that has been done.

Reinstalled, critical rebuiled, everything's fine. I install CEP2.4, no models.
Expand on 'no models' please. This might give us a clue.

What video card are you using? I seem to recall some ATI cards causing models to dissapear if AA mode was off or in certain modes. Also may pay to check your catalyst AI settings if it is indeed an ATI issue. If not,..... I don't know.
I have AA turned up on the max. But even turned off it won't make a difference :s But yes, I have an ATi card, however this is the first time such a thing has happened.

Are you sure you aren't putting anything into your override folder mistakenly? Something in your override (like a CEP .2da file) could do this to all modules including the OC. Short of that, I can see no way a .hak file (ie CEP) can affect a module that doesn't use .hak files.
If anyone is putting files on the override folder it's the CEP package, and even deleting those won't help unfortunately. :S

I had this same issue the last time I reformatted, make sure you don't have 2 different versions of your graphics drivers installed.
Any other option that isn't formatting though?

Rename your hak folder and try again. Although looking at the screen shots I think your graphics driver is the problem. I notice that the standard NWN placeables show up ok, only the player and NPCs seem affected. Although the compass part of the GUI is wrong as well. I suspect a DDS texture handling problem. Trawl the Tech support forum for similar problems.
I renamed hak folder to "_hak" and tried again, same thing. WIll search on tech for now, though I'll keep an eye here. Thanks

I had this happen once with a bug/issue with a 1.69 patch model combined with my video drivers. Here is a quick way to check - in your advanced video config for NWN, turn off environment mapping on creatures and see if your models return. If they do, then (based on using an ATI card = same and me as well), then it is a conflict with the Catalyst AI setting. I have slept since then but I seem to recall that you need to make sure Catalyst AI is on when using environment mapping in NWN with the newer drivers. Try that. Not sure why CEP is triggering it but I know that your screenshots look exactly how my issue popped up.
Thanks that fixed it!!
I have no idea why Catalyst AI makes any difference but at least it works .

Just for curiousity, is this "Performance", "Quality", or "High Quality" in the CCC?

I did note to check your catalyst AI. I had seen this issue before, but since I own a Nvidia card instead of ATI I don't remember the exact steps to fix. Glad the problem is solved.
