It was late at night, I had played all day, and it made me cry. But it was a good way for him to go out, he was old and had lived a good life and even if he didn't really say it was looking for redemption for his involvement in the genophage.

It didn't even occur to me the situation could go so south, like the story up there of shooting him and killing Wrex haha. I've always supported a cure for the Krogans so I saw no reason to stop now.

Sadly, I got the feeling that the whole mission was forced and that takes any meaning to his death (no matter how manly and cool it was).

Back in ME2 it was Mordin (via his loyalty mission) who convinced me that the genophage was the only possible solution to the Krogan problem (besides extermination of the entire specie), up until that point I was pro-cure but proud Mordin proved me wrong. Even Wrex (who I saved in ME1) was trying to build a new krogan civilization, building it based in the "old teachings" and not caring about a cure.

Somehow, in the 6 months Shep was confined, not only Mordin decided to betray the salarian special forces giving Wrex inside info, but also Wrex reverted back to pre-paragon Wrex, turning back to a bully who though the only solution for the krogan was the cure.

Despite all my griping about the ending, the way they handled stuff like this was perfect... Mordins story was amazing and his end made me cry :( we cured the Krogan my fishy friend!

Rest in peace, little buddy. The very model of Scientist Salarian indeed.

Even in ME3 he says it was the best solution at the time to deal with the Krogan. But from much of his dialog in ME2 I got the feeling he still regretted it. I'm not sure Wrex really gave up on a cure so much as thought it was impossible.

I wish I could have some how saved him ( dude had personality and filters out anything said about him). Like with Grunt and Wrex. Thane was dying no matter what. His days were numbered so didn't care much there. Legion doesn't really die cause they become one mind and you can see how the drones have some of personality. I died a little inside when I forced tali to suicide (felt really depressed) when I realized I wasn't doing anything that was saving the qurian fleet. So restarted that entire mission to save tali and basically kill legion. I had like 80% paragon too which was weird. I could talk both out of a war.
The ending just pissed me off cause the characters that made sacrifices in the game died for nothing.

I cried like a baby.

It was an amazing scene. Very powerful.

That sounds about right. I was choking on tears when I watched it. I burst into tears later on when Thane died. Couldn't handle the two of them leaving back to back like that.

Very sad. Very well done.

Oh, and eff that Reaper sending a platoon of Brutes after me at the Hammers on Tuchanka.

Seriously, at one point I had five Brutes all beating the crap out of me. And that's just RPG mode on Normal. I'd hate to see insanity.

Can't you do as in the trailer and just run past them? I just got there, and on Insanity, I can say brutes usually arent too fun w/o heavy weapons around.

Probably, but how I see it:

- In a scenario where the Reapers win, you don't inform the krogans about the possible cure 'cause it's useless.

- In a scenario where the Reapers lose. All the species get seriously dampered. Humans, turians, volean, elcors, batarians and asari all lose their homeworld plus almost all their military forces. In that scenario...you unleash cured krogans. So, instead of forcing them to stop fighting and start breeding to avoid extintion (when the Reaper menace is solved) you make a bloodthirsty, violent race able to reproduce like rabbits. To this effect you contact the most visible leader (a leader who is pro-expansion, although only 6 months ago he was still fighting against other clans and bringing the krogans to a new age)  and reveal him a state secret.

...doesn't sound like ME2 Mordin.

One of the best and saddest moments in the game. A well executed scene. Great job whoever wrote it.

Yeah, they handled the character deaths in this game pretty well I think. The only thing I disliked about it was the lack of an epilogue.
