Okay, may I know why ME3 is getting bad reviews? (no spoilers)

So is it because of the bad story? Or gameplay? Or day 1 DLC (seriously, this is the LARGEST crowd disservice possible)? Or the part where it keeps connecting to the EA servers for verification each time you play or some hidden hassle?
I peeked at the numbers of ME3 @ metacritics, and whoa... there were reallllly bad scores. Another question I have is whether ME3 is similar to DA2 in terms of character development, you know pick different choices and everything still come out the same. I really hated DA2, and heavens, I hope there's nothing like that here. If that's the case, I'm going to preordering blindly on any bioware games from now on.
So to bioware, seriously, I want a RPG so I hope your game is a RPG and not FPS, yeah?

There's your problem.
If there's one TINY little thing someone doesn't like about a game, they'll trash the entire game.

Only bad reviews I see are at Metacritic... folks going "it's craap! 0%" - just don't listen to them

In short, let's just say because this game hasn't met the some people who are uncomfortable perceived notion of perfection.
High expectations, that's why!
But yeah, steer clear of overtly negative, but also positive reviews due to the high expectations.

@ Repearized Miranda. The game isn't perfect but if the reviewers are honest then why are some of them giving it a 10/10?

Only bad thing about the game so far is that Prothean DLC. It's amazing, but that's the thing. It's so fluently integrated into the game with so much interactivity from the rest of the cast that there's no way it was designed as an afterthought. It was most definitely in production for the main game and stripped to be sold back to us to make a $60 game $70.
Leaves a very sour taste, but is the game amazing? 10 hours in and I say yes.

I haven't gotten my copy yet but you should ignore the user reviews on metacritic because many of those users gave the game zeroes because the game contains homosexual romances. Bioware has stated numerous times in relation to Mass Effect and Dragon Age that gay romances are never forced upon the player nor are heterosexual romances. Also metacritic is scarcely a reliable source of accurate judgement on anything considered popular because of teh trollz (see MW2 metacritic). Hope that answered your question
It isn't just the homosexual romances. It is how much BioWare has taken out compared to previous offerings. Like scenes where there should have been dialogue options but there aren't, the lack of a neutral convo option, the early players who got the space copies that leaked the ending (which didn't sit well with many people).
Same with Dragon Age 2, it wasn't just the homosexual romances. It was just the general handling of the game that didn't sit well with people.
And besides, you shouldn't ignore metacritic. What you should do is research before you purchase, and when you use metacritic just cross check the scores between journalist reviews and player reviews. Even better, wait a month when the review scores even out and then check. If the scores are close, then you can judge the game based off that score. If the scores vary by over 3 points, then there is something to look into.

I don't trust internet reviews in general. There is like, no in-between, it's always a very low score or a very high one.

Chicken and Egg
If no game ever got a 10/10 because of the belief that it's impossible to get a 10 since that would be perfect, instead you'd just see all these games get a 9/9 everywhere instead. So basically all you'd be doing is altering the scale so that instead of 10 distinct ranks there would be only 9.
Therefore you ignore that 'impossible to get 10' rule. Games can be improved, but that rule makes no sense.
If the 10th rank can never be attained, then games will only be rated within the confines of the 9 which can. Then someone decides to be smart and says that 9/9 = perfection, and so people start rating games 8/8.

The big game industry folks tend to give big name, highly anticipated titles rave reviews at the start.
and I wonder why that is. It couldn't possibly because people have gotten fired for negative reviews or publishers threatening future blacklistings (See DNF)

OP, play the demo, witness first hand the console graphics, the clunky movements, the inability to holster your weapon, the bad lip sync, the horrible spam bloom lighting, the healvily compressed textures. Make your own choice, instead of reading reviews from ad revenue driven sites.
Oh, almost forgot, don't forget the $70 pricetag for the console garbage. Enjoy!

So far far the only bad I can think of is the animations(poopy pants running), and my character looks pear shaped. The story seems to be dragging a lot in the beginning too. Not much freedom to do anything so far and i've been playing a couple hours.
I'm keeping my ME3 demo installed even after I get the full game. I couldn't bear to lose the hilarity that is the over the top and immensely funny Anderson sprinting animation

I also doubt the part on homosexual content affecting the scores, because bioware has always been big on that area, a good thing imo. Uhh. Didn't like DA Anders, though.
Edit: I do agree the graphics is lacking though.

Nope, we just ignore those idiotic reviews that do nothing but give either a 0 or a 10, basing their opinion on no actual facts based on actually playing the game, post reviews that contain nothing but spam, attacks on the Bioware staff, continual repetition of some of the internet memes that have sprung up without any of the facts...

They still kind of move that way but at least the graphics are a little cleaner. Also there is this weird thing after a cutscene where my femshep tucks her elbows back...really strange looking, and she walks funny.
