So is it because of the bad story? Or gameplay? Or day 1 DLC (seriously, this is the LARGEST crowd disservice possible)? Or the part where it keeps connecting to the EA servers for verification each time you play or some hidden hassle?

I peeked at the numbers of ME3 @ metacritics, and whoa... there were reallllly bad scores. Another question I have is whether ME3 is similar to DA2 in terms of character development, you know pick different choices and everything still come out the same. I really hated DA2, and heavens, I hope there's nothing like that here. If that's the case, I'm going to preordering blindly on any bioware games from now on.

So to bioware, seriously, I want a RPG so I hope your game is a RPG and not FPS, yeah?

Metatcritic got bombed by some very disgruntled fans.  Keep in mind that the critics (typically more objective) consensus is 94.

Most major "critics" are also paid to give the game a good review, if the majority of fans are dissapointed then the game is bad. Look at Drgaon Age 2, the mjaority of critics gave it a psoitive review and the game was a complete mess.

If you used other people's misguided perception about the game without experiencing it first hand then we have a problem.

IMO, this is DA2 all over again because it was caused by the effed up unencrypted ending movies and the the From Ashes milking of gamers.

Evidence, please.

The DAII comparison is ridiculous. Just look at the difference in ratings. (79% for DAII, 94 for ME3)

What fans? The trolls on Metacritic?

There is no disappointed majority. In fact, given that the bloody thing was released two days ago, most folks who bought it are probably still playing it.

And no "fans" will decide if the game is bad in my case. That's my decision to make and I couldn't care less what others think as long as I'm having a blast. FRIDAY, get here ALREADY!

Dragon Age 2, wasn't bad. It wasn't great either. It had good characters, but the gameplay was -awful- the environments were -awful- yet the characters were able to redeem it at least to make it fun.

Mass Effect 3 is not Dragon Age 2. The characters continue be awesome, the storyline continues to be awesome, the combat is awesome, and if you don't like multiplayer, instead of complaining about it, don't play it period. There's alot of self-entitled people out there who want what they want.

This isn't your story. It was never your story. Yes, you can play it. Yes you can make your own Shepard. But that does not give you full control. It never did. It never will. The end of the story is what people are complaining about OP. Because nobody is willing to be satisfied. The end of a great story is almost /always/ going to disappoint people because everyone has their own images.

It's like Battlestar Galactica. Brilliant show. The ending however made some people decide it sucked. People decided it was lame. So they hate on the whole show and try to be backseat writers. Same with many other good shows that had a proper conclusion.

ME3, while a game, is no different.

So far, I think this game is the best of all three, because it combines the best of the first two. Also, I was spoiled on the endings. Guess what? That makes me only look forward to continuing my journey.

One of the biggest reasons it gets 0-spammed is because 4chan's video game board hates Origin and Jennifer Hepler.

Most of them haven't yet played the game and are afraid it'll turn out to be another DA2.

In less than a week they will have turned around and start posting love interest threads and making fanart, same thing happened with ME2.

Someone please reassure me about the endings, without spoilers.

I'm seeing a lot of posts with people not liking them, and although I haven't spoiled myself I can't help now but have a nagging feeling in the back of my mind that the ending is going to be a let down...

You probably should've looked at the Metacritic page before posting that.

55 positive reviews
19 mixed
1 negative.

He's also right.

Haters gonna hate. Games like this are when the haters come out and shine. Don't believe the anti-hype.

So if Bioware publicly advertised this game as the most open-ended and choice-driven game of the franchise, but the exact opposite is true, that's just being a "hater"? Let's have less sloganeering & more critical thought.

Imagine the worst possible ending multiply it by a factor of 10 and prepare yourself for it.

Knowing what was coming took the edge off it for me.

Not so much. Critics lied outrageously about DA2.Escapist even said there was an auto attack feature in the game but the reviewer was choosing not to use it. That was 100% bull**** that feature never existed until it was patched in later.

Most of the bad reviews are made by people who where either against same sex romances or against the first day DLC.

The story is great, yea there's a few glitches in convos, I fell through the world once.

First day DLC: Not mandatory to understand the plot of the game, nice addition to the Prothean back-story tough.

Same sex romances: It's annoying for me personnaly but since some people are into that I don't blame Bioware to include that in their game.

Ah I couldn't help myself - had to glance at them in the spoiler section. I can't play the game with a constant doubt in the back of my mind...

Ok on reading them I'm not sure what to think; indifferent at this stage I guess, but I suppose I'll have more of an opinion once I've seen them for myself.

From what I've been reading it seems those aren't the real problems. Looks as though it's the loss of control and the sour endings that have people in such an uproar. They are also what's keeping me away, at least for the time being.

Every major video game reviewer is giving ME3 solid reviews. But according to troll, EA just pays them all off.

LOL! Yeah, I know just how honest they can be with their reviews.  Case and point: According to PC Gamer, DA2 was the RPG GAME OF THE CENTURY!

Need I say more? We all know how the game is played.

Honestly though, I think for me, the only thing I can do that has any real affect at all is to not buy the game. I watched all of the endings and they were all extremely disappointing to say the least, not to mention all the scenes where you have been taken out of the equation for the sake of automatic dialogue. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ruins a game for me more than that.

Now, having seen all of this with my own eyes, is that a real incentive to go out and buy this game? Take a character I created in 2007 and spent countless hours with for years just to have the company take him away from me and ruin his entire adventure...at my expense?

No thanks.

The BSG analogy is a good one.  People had the same sort of outraged reaction to that ending that we're seeing here.  I was not outraged by the BSG finale.  I think they could have done something better with it, but I thought it was interesting and different, and it wrapped up a lot of things (though not everything) and gave a good sendoff to the key characters.  And I thought it was an amazing series overall and Ron Moore and company had earned the right to give it an unconventional ending.  I took as a piece of the whole, and the whole was one of my all-time favorite TV series.

Consequently, I'm taking all the doom and gloom about the ending (which I haven't reached yet) with an enormous grain of salt and enjoying the hell out of this game.

BSG ending was obvious from about 3/4 of the way through. This one is like nonsensical and straight out of left field. It's also incredibly bad on a number of levels. From being a rip off a certain other game (It works in that game because of the design) to being incredibly cheesey and full of holes.

Well most people love the majority of the game, and like me they were disappointed in the ending, as it was more Deus Ex, and less Mass Effect Canon, i mean really stick to story, hope they would make a DLC to add two additional endings to please most of us fans disappointed in the other three endings, as I would pay to see at least 1 better choice.  I am normally die hard bioware gamer, but the end did nothing to really close the shephard story of the game, and really spoiled my cup of tea :(
