Apparently the software doesn't like it, so it crashes as the transaction is processing, and it doesn't give you any points, but still charges you for them. May just be Paypal, but still shouldn't happen.
Don't buy Bioware points via Origin

Exact same problem here. Don't know what to do now. But I am out $10.00
edit: Actually, the 800 bioware points I bought did get properly credited to my account. Now I can acquire the dlc.

When? Mine hasn't worked at all. Still lost money.

I got this problem too in addition to the N7 Warfare Gamestop pre-order code being invalid/already redeemed. So after the crash of both ME3 and Origin client I am charged $11.20 CDN by PayPal and have only 80 BioWare points that were already in the account. No sign of the 800 points I just paid for. I've submitted a case ticket with EA. Hopefully they will fix this soon.

I paid with credit card almost 4 hours ago and the points still won't appear in-game while they do appear on the BioWare points site.

Hmmm...I bought Bioware Points using the Origin Overlay, twice. And it worked flawlessly so far. My Brother had the problem once, that the Origin Overlay and ME3 crashed while confirming the payment. Transaction was made, but no Points on his account. A few minutes later, the points appeared on his account tho.
