Yeah, my installation of ME3 (from discs) always fails after it reaches 99% - so far I've had problems with both PhysX and DirectX.
Please tell me that this can be fixed, because this is - quite frankly - just ****ing ridiculous.

Uninstall Origin completely, delete Origin Games, download new origin installer.

That's a little extreme, are you sure it's the only way?

I can't promise you it will work but when I did that it went well for me. And by the way, download Mass Effect 3 game first, don't tick on the other items just yet. Its your choice.

****.
It didn't work, apparently PhysX wasn't installed correctly again. I SHOULD NOT EVEN REQUIRE PHYSX WITH AN AMD CARD.

I'm going to try downloading from Origin's servers instead of installing from the disc - but I doubt it will be any more than another ****ing waste of time and energy.

First off, PhysX is owned by Nvidia because they bought the company several years back, but (I think) the ME games run it on the CPU.
If you're having problems with both DirectX and PhysX, then I suspect there's a Windows-related issue here. Are you running Win 7? 32-bit or 64-bit?

Windows 7, 64-bit.
And I know about PhysX and all that, I just needed something to complain about.

Ah. Well, regardless, I've found the folks at http://www.sevenforums.com/ very helpful in troubleshooting issues.
Edit: If I recall correctly, when I had a PhysX crashing issue a long time ago (not installing, but crashing on playing) it was because of a corrupt video driver on my system. You may want to do a clean uninstall/reinstall of your video driver. It's an option, at least. There's a link in my sig if that helps.

I'm going to give the clean uninstallation thing a try - I'll report back on the results.

I was able to manually install PhysX after following these steps, and then Mass Effect 3 installed fine - thanks for the assistance, RaenImrahl
