This is the mission where you reunite with Grunt and the Rachni Queen. Near the end I decided to let the queen escape. It seems she was forced to produced eggs while her children were indoctrinated. Then this scene occured where Grunt decided to stay back and hold back the indoctrinated rachni by himself. I honestly thought he was going to die. It looked like he was being overruned then he tackled some rachni over a cliff.

Even the music sounded sad when Grunt was fighting those rachni, but in the end he made it to the shuttle. What a relief.

I honestly thought he wad dead before he showed up covered in blood. I assumed he made it out alive because he was loyal in the previous game.

So grunt survives whether you save the queen or not? Dang. I assumed it was the queen or grunt, so I went with Grunt. Only then did I get worried when it seemed like Grunt died anyway.

I KNOW he's meant to die, from every single source I've read. We must be missing something that makes him survive - perhaps ME2 loyalty? Certainly, if you chose the queen, it's intended that Grunt sacrifices himself. Something about our imports is allowing us to avoid this, I just don't know what.

Having grunt loyal in Mass Effect 2 allows him to survive.

Not doing their loyalty mission wasn't an automatic death in ME2.

First time I played it I thought he died, and shed a few man tears. Then he walked out, and I got excited. :P

Before he came out all bad*** I was seriously gonna go back and kill the queen to save him. Thank God I didn't need to

Do the rachni give you more war assets then the krogan squad? cause if not I don't know if i'll save her next time.

If Grunt wasn't loyal in ME 2, he dies if you save the queen.

Loyalty mission in ME2 = Grunt lives.
I thought he'd die, but he managed. All the scenes looked like a hero's death, but NAH, he's Grunt. The second best Krogan after Wrex would not have died so easily... Wait.

Wrex death from 3 shots from a C-Sec guard... hm...

Grunt died in my ME2, but there were definite moments when I thought Ashley, James, Jack, Jacob, and Samara were going to die. And I thought Ashley and Garrus DID die running to the Citadel, but then Ashley showed up on Gilligan's Planet like she's a Harlem Globetrotter, so who the heck knows?

I loved that he actually survived, I was starting to think they are going to just kill of everyone with some importance. Then the ending came and they sort of did something even worse :S

I gotta say, my heart sank, especially as I only did this mission after Mordin and Thane's deaths...

I was sitting there thinking 'No, not Grunt too... Seriously, not another one' as I did like Grunt quite a bit, and was about ready to reach for the escape key to reload and kill the queen after all, then he staggers out...

Another script gem...

Yes, Wrex does seem to have crappy armor and lack of Krogan healing abilities. Kind of hampers is bad-asserieness when it just takes a punch and 3 shots with a pistol to kill him...

I did not know that... I only had one person die the first time I finished ME2 because I sided with Miranda when her and Jack were having a hissy

Quite literally my EXACT thought process. One of my friends posted on facebook: "Oh my gosh Grunt dies??? I hate this game!!" and then 1 minute after: "Scratch that, HE LIIIIIVES!! I freaking love this game!!"

One of the best twists in the game, in my humble opinion.

Didn’t you know... whilst you were on the citadel everyone stopped fighting and sat around playing cards waiting for you to make that decision. Joker swung by earth picked up you squad and was actually doing a night owl run when everything went down

Soo basicly if you did Grunt's loyalty in ME2, he will survive with a badass entrance in the end ( I was seriously worried there ''Damn you courageous bastard ! '' ) and he just pops up with '' I am hungry ! ''
Another reason why I love Krogan characters. He and Wrex just embodies the Awesomeness lvl of Krogan race and why I wanted to cure the Genophage ( not that it mattered in the end anyways.. )

yeah i figured with some of the other ME2 squadmates fate that Grunt would be dead but it was nice to see him crawl out of there. Still no idea what happened to him afterwards..

It pretty much comes down to saving the queen or saving Aralakh company.

Yeah, I too considered resetting and letting the queen die. I really didn't want to see another friend die. (Especially seeing as Reaper Pawn seemed to be her race's destiny).

When Grunt climbed out of that pit, I was so happy. "F#%^ Yeah"!
