I know, every time I attempt to open Mass Effect 3 the release date check never finishes or something and goes away and never opens the damn game. Get rid of it or patch it, I don't want to wait till later this week when it's released for everyone else.

The only way I've heard of getting past it so far is by using cracked masseffect3.exe files, which is just sad.

this happened to me with battlefield 3 back in November did not even get to till December, i forgot what i did to fix it, i was hoping that they would realize by now how it becomes an issue to people who bought the game legit more then to the pirates who just crack it

i got a solution to try out perform a clean boot on your computer and only start up origons that's what did it for me.

I won't stoop to the level of people who in a way "rent" a game for free to see if they want to "Buy" it. I have too much ego! >
I am really at my limit to what I an do with playing the game, i ordered TWO of those 40$ game guides (which i got for a sweet 30$ for one and 35$ flat for the 2nd. it's because bestbuys reward zone gave me so many certificates that act as money, i only have 45$ left tho, so I'm unsure of what to get...... I DO KNOW i need printer ink black and color. but moreso i NEED AND WANT a headset when i dial a phone number so i dont have to hold the phone for half an hour + to wait until its possible that someone picks the phone up at EA xD
I HATE those EA realtime text chat with a game advisor since they said once to turn my a/v and firewall stuff ALL OFF, just to play the game, which i replied "go **** your self"
they cant even speak english right most of the time! ima stop ranting or i'll get into trouble >_<

anyone turn up with anything new? I've looked and looked but still, no goodies. im starting to want to use a cracked exe to play my freaking game!

This shouldn't be happening, where people buy an 80$ game and can't make the pos server let it play for us. it's not like it will stop warez from being made and played, I don't use that stuff, but I can understand why legit people want to play this game so badly now.

Here's what finally solved it for me after about 2 installes (one from DVD and one Downloaded). Be aware my OS is Windows 7 (64bit) and I ran the configuration before hand from Mass Effect 3\\Binaries\\Masseffect3config.exe (Not sure if that mattered, including it anyway.)

1. Close Origin.
2. Find your Mass Effect 3\\Binaries\\Win32\\MassEffect3.exe and delete it.
3. Open Origin and ensure you have remember me or login automatically, whatever.
4. Right click and repair install (verbage may differ) and wait for it to complete.
5. Exit out. Do not DO ANYTHING WITH MASSEFFECT 3 (try to not even look at it).
6. Go back to Mass Effect 3\\Binaries\\Win32\\MassEffect3.exe , right click properties and set to run as administrator and select compatibility mode (I selected Windows 7 which I am assuming is the 32bit version, your results/needs may vary). Click apply or OK.
7. Run MassEffect3.exe

Heres what happend for me. About 5-10 seconds Origin came on (why I had you set autologin) about 5-10 seconds after that, Masseffect3 started. Your results may vary, give it a minute or two.

Not sure this will work for everyone/anyone, but after 6 hours of troubleshooting....I'll take it. I have no idea about Multiplayer, but I played the single campaign for several hours before I had to go to work with no issues.

Didn't work for me either, which of the installations did you use? The one from disc or purely downloaded?

this one was the downloaded version i was told would work since the cd's version work sometimes. the difference is the download b.s. is 8 hours long, and installing from its cd's takes a total of 25 minutes, max.

Use the search function there is lots of threads and ways of fixing that.

We have released an update to the game that should address this issue. Please right click on the game in your "My Games" tab in Origin and select "Check for Updates".

Normally when I update it's 40 mb... now it's 25, crossing my fingers this works.
